its just hearthstone but with a more restrictive dusting system (can't dust cards until you own a full set of 4 of them)
slightly more involved with stuff like "wildcards" which you can spend to get any card of a given rarity but it's not different from just "x dust"
Also arena has a REAL strict NDA from what I've heard, although it could be loosening as more people get in now and as WOTC makes more real announcements

If it's free to at least try out, I wouldn't object to playing around in it.
I get the feeling you'll have to buy something to play it though, like a starter deck or whatever just to get into an expansion, as I suspect it'll be standard - meaning cards rotate out of legality every year (or whatever). I'm sure it'll be physically unplayable without paying irlmoney, but that's sort of what I expect of anything related to MTG anyway.

Checked out facebook video and seems fine based on the ESL VODs as long as you full screen (on second screen). Tournament on totally wrong time zone for me.
Though I didn't really have any problems with Hitbox, own3d or any of the other services either.

Facebook is just a garbage-tier social outlet for me. I've got whatsapp or other methods to actually interact with my family/friends, without having to slog through clickbait bullshit ads or "friends" that are being mad about stupid shit on the internet.
I prefer to restrict my social media to people I actually give a fuck about. Facebook strongly discourages that.

Facebook strongly discourages that. agreed on all accounts, but I have no real issue with watching a stream of video that I want to watch such as a dota tournament, even if it's served by facebook. However, it has to be on a reasonable webpage (not facebook but apparently ESL embeds the streams which could work) and it has to actually, you know, work...
plus i aint watching nahaz rofl. There were posts on reddit like "shame this is on facebook cuz production value is so high" meanwhile i'm like "you couldn't pay me to watch nahaz"

Free beer as long as you watch?

I personally don't have anything against Nahaz. He isn't always the best person on a panel but I would rate him above average for panel talents. Not great as host or caster though.

You can just watch here: http://live.esl-one.com/ The stream is embeded, you won't even notice it's coming from facebook...

the best part about that tweet is that I was able to find a ton of pretty good plays on the front page all through the first day. I'll probably just keep watching the tournament in-game. Some really good games have already been played

Restreams, since you there are no facebook vods.

Could they not clip it as it happened on facebook? I just assumed it came from there but if not it makes his tweet being angry about it even better lmao

But I'm pretty sure everything that would end up in reddit is just Twitch clips. Much easier to do.

There are like 15 different ways they could get clips of the stream that don’t even require them to use facebook or any service at all.

I may just watch one of the japanese streamers on twitch. I'm still not fully fluent, but it's good practice and I think I'll get more out of it than hearing nahaz tell me that Lycan always wins a game. Plus no facebook

Facebook strongly discourages that. you can do that create a list of friends and you can restrict posts and pics and whatever to only people on that list by default you can also only appear online on messenger to those people
it's buried but it's definitely a feature
i haven't used facebook over the last several years because i didn't like the way i was always checking on peoples' statuses and comments 24/7
|
I’m not sure that is a feature any more, or if it is effective. Facebook took away control of your feed a while ago and now markets users to be served ads and weird shit. I doubt there is any way to regain control at this point.
