what makes my situation worse is that ive all been a high achiever, and now my parents are extremely disappointed coz they always expected too highly of me (and they complain that i play too much video games... they dont understand what 7k means?!)
of course i can't find the motivation to study hard for something i grew to hate so now i just scrape by (edge of depression)
what makes it worse is that both of my siblings are even higher achievers (cambridge graduates: also masters/phd at cambridge which is like harvard or mit for u guys) so my parents compare me to them.
and it's my parents who compelled me to continue my studies instead of going pro in dota (im sure finishing studies is logically/rationally the best thing to do, but im a romantic)

i think doing what you're saying you're going to do after you graduate is perfect. you have a goal and you have an education to fall back on. if your parents don't like it, then i don't think they are good parents.
its not like you're just some casual dota player looking to go pro

another thing is that i was forced to take a gap year after high school before going to uni so i get to pay home student tuiton fees instead of international (have to have lived in uk for 3 years), and in the same exact year the government changed do conservative from labour and they decided to triple the tuition fees for home students. so basically a waste of 1 year

no that's great advice as long as he encouraged you to get a good education before pursuing your ditch digging career so you had something to fall back on
