all the top seeded teams didnt win a single series... ok QC did but that was because they were against another seeded team.
I was talking about developing to the tournament, to what works and not, im not talking about no scrimming.or something as the like.
Anyway, my point is that there's 0 reason to have seeded teams, i was just joking saying they indeed suck, of course they dont, but the format doesnt help them, at all.

These players absolutely know scrims and scrims and official games are official games.
Rumors said VP won nearly all of their scrims, but they certainly can't be happy about not winning any of their official matches. Vice versa we've seen interviews where teams say they lost all their scrims but win an official match and gain confidence to do well in a group stage.
I think Valve has gotten enough feedback to know it's not a good format to run.

seems like its just confirmation bias that makes u bring up the "we lost all our scrims but we won now we win TI" schtick
why bother mentioning scrims in an interview if its not an outlier result? why bother remembering said interview if its not an outlier result? etc. etc. etc.
the entire notion being spread here seems ultra stupid theres nothing magical about matches vs scrims
theres more nerves, and some teams might bring out a few picks/ideas that theyd have tried to prepare/hide before, but theyre literally still playing 24/7 leading up their match whether they had matches prior or not
i dont think theres anything u can add to ur argument that wont make it sound stupid

It took a major called "animajor" to get me interested in Dota again. Just played for the first time in 8 months

Last major teams had to arrive 48h before their first game. Which means teams like VP could not scrim the people in the tournament.
IMO this format is bad because it seeds teams like VP and Alliance directly into TI while they havent won anything at an actual LAN. This will most likely diminish the quality of games at TI.

i dont think theres anything u can add to ur argument that wont make it sound stupid So you admit there's differences between matches vs scrims, and then conclude there's no difference between matches and scrims? I just can't agree with the opinion that nerves don't matter to every team.

Ill admit that the notion of scrims vs official matches could be wrong, i wont admit it 100% because we have seen time and time again teams getting seeded only to fail well before the potential of what they have. But you can't agree that seeded teams looked shaky.
Im betting the mental side of things of lacking the experience of playing in the tournament, which could lead to a more relaxed state instead of the strees that means this being your first match and all that means with it its exactly the reason why these teams came and went like its nothing.
But anyway, pointless argument that leads nowhere and i'm not in my best days personally so maybe im not thinking straight and i could be extrapolating data from not enough sample, honestly, i dont care.
i apologize

ya the format of having teams seed directly into upper bracket based on local results seems really dumb

you can nitpick differences between literally anything and u could use the same logic to try and say red cars are faster than blue cars or some shit like that.
teams arent gaining a considerable advantage by playing a few matches versus scrims
edit: walk through this axiomatically
are scrims and matches different? yes - primarily stress levels
do you gain an advantage by having more comfort with dealing with higher stress levels? we can both agree that this is true
would, in this tournament, not having directly seeded teams and having those that were instead play more matches prior change the outcome? I would say no -- what team of those directly seeded are inexperienced to playing matches on LAN? I haven't seen a single argument made that connects inexperience with matches to the reason they lose, and only people trying to claim that that's the reason based on a few matches here. would it not be more likely that the teams that were directly seeded simply did not play well enough to win? the last time VP played against nigma was 7 months ago (in matches, likely sooner via scrims) for instance.
my point isnt that seeding directly into upper bracket is good, because i think its shit too
