And then one day I asked packrat how things were going and he was all silent and moody and then he was like 'harodihg isn't Japanese and is fluent in english'. Yes! It was shock! I remember I had his imgur account bookmarked for a while because I thought it was so funny to look at his literal 3k+ img albums of various kpop girls.

there's really no glory to it, ancient players still call u bad, people still insist that theyre an expert on the hero that they have 500 games with so they MUST know better
you'd think that people literally half my mmr would throw credence to the fact that i must be more knowledgeable than them on the game, but thats honestly not the case 80% of the time, its really eye opening in a sort of depressing kind of way

idiots aren't aware that they don't know everything and aren't interested or capable of realizing this
ignorants, though they lack the knowledge, are at all aware that they dont know/dont understand things and throw reverence to this fact

id also like to add that as charged and condescending as that post may seem i dont go out of my way to really engage with people that often about dota, and when i do i don't react like "hurr ur X mmr im Y mmr ur dumb and wrong!"
its just really, what i would consider fundamental, things that people get upset about, like the notion that whatever mmr they currently have is really just where they belong, and their overall skills are about equal to everyone else of equal mmr
open any public dota space and most of the chatter will be incessant whining about how their pub teammates are like totally just SoOoO bad despite being the same rank, and they'd definitely, without a doubt, like totally, be much higher if they just weren't held back
