tbh Where are you in the sopranos? Have you met Ralph yet?
The weight thay James Gandolfini puts on over the course of the series is pretty astonishing.

Naturally, I also saw more bloated bellies on men and people in mobility scooters for obesity than I see on an average day in Canada. How does the quality compare between the US and Canada, with the same or similar companies? I mean you can make big, fatty servings of Mac n cheese for very little money. There won't be any quality cheese or cream in it that's for sure, but I do remember rather eating bigger portions than quality portions back when I was a student.

I can't exactly remember the taste to compare, but I'd not expect much of a significant difference in taste and quality from the same product shared between the two countries. Though I'm reading that U.S laws for food additives in meat, poultry, dairy and processed foods are laxer compared to Canada, and Canadian processed food tends to avoid HFCS — while it's abundant in foods down south, so maybe it's more subtle or health-related.

In the 90s, the US food pyramid said to eat 11 servings of grains a day. That was what the official US position was on a healthy amount to eat, 30 years ago, that they taught to kids in school.
(Looking back I'm so confused. Did they bother to have anyone add up the numbers they had proposed? It's a crazy amount of calories).
Edit: Just checked the new food pyramid. It still recommends this, but notes that it's only for teen boys. The amounts recommended in general are really high.

I thought Richie was an asshole but Ralph is something else, he just got promoted to captain and his son wants to do Meadow.
Just heard there's a prequel movie coming out later in the year, September. James son will be playing Tony, The Many Saints of Newark

Nice. Ralphs storyline is pretty great.
I'm having a ton of fun playing rimworld since I installed a mod that makes my dudes clean up the kitchen before they cook. No more food poisoning death spirals yay

Not too much! Especially if youve ever messed around with dwarf fortress. I think it took me about three or four death spirals before I got the hang of it enough to get a solid colony going. The tutorial will teach you most things you need to know and the rest of the important stuff can be learned pretty quickly from beginner guides on the wiki. (Make a freezer so your food doesn't spoil, don't cook your food in the same room you butcher to avoid contamination and illness, and a few other things).
There are some QoL mods that will make it a good deal easier to pick up too. Common Sense and Colony Manager do a lot to minimize the most boring and time consuming elements of the micromanagement.
Before I installed Common Sense I would have an issue where colonists would occasionally barf in the kitchen, and then just keep cooking without cleaning up, resulting in them making contaminated food that makes the whole colony ill lol

yeah Rimworld is really fun and honestly doesn't take that much time to figure out. You do sort of control your own difficulty level by picking where to start your settlement. I avoid very cold places just so I can grow most crops for most of the year and not need to worry about people freezing to death if they're outside lol

I remember you joining the channel and trolling packrat for a solid 2-3 weeks in TL-ABL irc. Good memories, I miss the irc days.

Do you guys celebrate valentine's day? meaning you personally, not your respective countries
|
not really, i had a gf that was super into valentines day but i hate it
thankfully the girl im dating now hates it too
we will get together but to watch a football (the real one) game lol

the wife and I usually forget until the day. or the day after. tomorrow we have separate plans, so, it varies. It's not a strict yes / no.
We want to try to celebrate life more, so every occasion, no matter how capitalistic, is kinda welcome. There's a German proverb for that. "Man muss die Feste feiern, wie sie fallen".
The translation engine spat out: "Christmas comes but once a year". In my own english words it means something like: you have to take the celebrations as they come. or: you have to celebrate when the opportunity comes.

I believe they should allow fighting in Soccer like there is in Hockey. Player takes a dive - punch him in the face. There's nothing that isn't improved and just think of the fantasy points.

i remember not understanding why people were making a big deal about the zinedine zidane headbutt when i was a kid. it seemed so tame lol

That headbutt was legendary.
On another note, I agree with Omni. Would love to see some of these classic "dive" players just get absolutely knocked the fuck out

Oh man, the ZZ headbutt. I'm still mad at Italians for this. Zidane deserved that World Cup win >:[

didn't take much to trigger packrat tbf
I have reviewed 10 overwatch cases, all of them pointless. Stating the obvious but this feature probably should've come out a long time ago. It could use a couple QOL changes and maybe give role queue tokens as an incentive. Which they could merge with classic queue to an extent. dota is fun
