Anyway, it should take around 2 seconds for you to realise if the stream is on douyu or twitch. 2 seconds wasted for you seems to be a good tradeoff for avoiding clutter on the sidebar. Still a flag telling me where a player/streamer is from wouldn't hurt my overall dota knowledge. Plus is would remind people when a stream runs poorly, its due to the number of oceans between you and the streamer. Technically there are no oceans between EU and CN , but I understand your point. Perhaps this suggestion could be made in the website feedback section instead. As for the flags, how the hell am I supposed to tell the difference between the AU and NZ flags when they are squished into tiny rectangles?! This is the big issue that needs addressing.
quite the problem for all the new zealand players of dota 2

Whats the console command for Buyback? I'm not talking about respawning in some stupid lobby game, either. Please read the question about 3 times before posting.
:edit: And yes, I did google it, and couldn't find anything.

From like a day ago in response to the same question:

Ok that didn't answer my question. What is the command for buyback in console? In the spirit of passive-aggressiveness: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=dota respawn console command
That's all you need or it doesn't exist. I searched for you yesterday and was unable to find it, so I feel it might not exist.

If its not on google the place to ask is the dev forums (dev.dota2.com or some shit).
|
i'm sure i've seen someone post the way to bind buyback to a key in nadota
the post specifically meantioned how it could be useful for example those puck orb-buyback-jaunt shenanigans and the like

Is there any way to change the quality on the chinese streams? Luo's stream keeps on lagging out for me (despite reasonably fast internet)

I think the quality automatically updates or something? Also these are Chinese streams, there's a good chance that it will be fine for some people but terrible for others. Luo doesn't even load for me at all, but the other ones are.

Also even if you limit the bandwidth it may still give you issues and there's not really much you can do about it. It has mostly do with routing, distance and all that.

Those are comments, I don't remember the exact name of the system but it's pretty popular on Asian media sites. You can disable them with the button to the right of the volume slider.

Yday I spent 30 mins on a lobby looking for it and didn't find it (I also googled it first), I posted my (un)findings. But you're welcome.

So I'm really confused about China and Dota 2. On one hand it seems like it should be very popular there, the amount of followers on weibo (or is it qq? I have no idea how chinese social networks work) the personalities have, the huge stream numbers, the chinese equivalent of /r/dota2 apparently has over a million subscribers. But the amount of players always peeks at european sites, and everywhere I've seen, the european dota 2 servers are much more populated than the Chinese ones (and yes, that is counting the 2 perfect world clusters). If the amount of the stream viewers and qq followers correlated even slightly with the amount of players, the Chinese servers should have at least ten times as much people playing.
Can anyone enlighten me? The only explanation I can find is that people are still playing WC3 DotA, but follow the Dota 2 personalities. Is that it? It's all really confusing for me.

A huge part of it are the system requirements for Dota2 I think. Anyone who has an old pc can watch some low res stream and play WC3-Dota, but for Dota2 you need more.

So is it people still playing WC3 DotA? Are you Chinese? Do you know that or are you just guessing? I'm asking because I always see people parroting "WC3 DotA is still insanely popular in china" on reddit and wherever even in they don't have a slightest clue what they're talking about.

I am just guessing here.
Edit: Could ask a Chinese friend if I see him. But I think until then the whole thing has been broken down. He himself prefers Dota (2) for example, but his Laptop can't run Dota 2 properly & his friends are playing LoL, so he is playing LoL too.
