So tryhard. Even the drafts. Ok, so its not pub Dota, but stack vs stack. That makes way more sense. I found it hard to believe that China was this mythical place where high level dota was not filled with idiots. Chinese pubs seem to be more tryhard and closer to real dota than 5k+ eu/na
in some aui interview he talked about how much better china pubs were

is that normal stream numbers in CN ? thats some mighty high numbers. (ZSMJ stream)

So did ice3 and others as well. This is well known. Back when China did not have Perfect World Server, SEA is the toughest because all the chinese pros will play there.

What the hell. Are those stream numbers for real on ZSMJ stream? No way that can be real. Surely it has to be a bug ??

Midas Paj baby, thanks ZSMJ. How else are you going to get 6 slotted?!

Perhaps this will give you some insight as to sheer number of people living in urban areas in China and imagine how this is not the case. Anyway, there is a lol stream with 350k a few minutes ago (it's 284k now).

Inter-server MMR is funny.
Aui went to china, said playing mid/carry was unwinnable for him (he complained about getting doomed out of every game, and said he lost mid to basically every pub lol), but ended up gaining 200+ mmr overall just by supporting which he felt wasn't possible on NA servers.
Excalibur came to NA for TI4 and promptly lost 600 mmr cuz he couldn't carry NA pubs lol.

If Aui supports well, I guess there is a greater chance his carries know what they're doing. Conversely, supporting on NA is...hilarious, at least when I was there.

do you guys think we should maybe add a separate tag under players to identify which region they're from? or is there a way to sort currently which are streaming on Twitch vs Doyoutv? I don't understand chinese one bit and i doubt ill be interested in watching those streams so it would be nice if i can filter them out.

I understand China is densley populated but I still couldn't imagine 200k people watching ZSMJ playing. Western streams would never get this and thats all of Europe / America etc. Even Starladder finals on twitch wouldn't even get this? So its pretty much blew my mind.
And it actually gives that BBC newsnight clip a lot more credit. Streaming in Asia is big. Its way bigger than I imagined.

Anyway, it should take around 2 seconds for you to realise if the stream is on douyu or twitch. 2 seconds wasted for you seems to be a good tradeoff for avoiding clutter on the sidebar.

Still a flag telling me where a player/streamer is from wouldn't hurt my overall dota knowledge. Plus is would remind people when a stream runs poorly, its due to the number of oceans between you and the streamer.

ZSMJ is actually pretty entertaining on stream, not to mention that he is a legend. Also, China's population is more than EU and NA's population combined, and they are all living in a single timezone. I would also hazard a guess and say percentage wise more Chinese teenagers are playing dota than their EU and NA counterparts.

But yeah, I'm also surprised by the numbers the chinese streams are pulling.

There's a hover tooltip that says if it's twitch or douyu. At the very least it seems like you could add a country/region name to there as well.

Perhaps this suggestion could be made in the website feedback section instead.
As for the flags, how the hell am I supposed to tell the difference between the AU and NZ flags when they are squished into tiny rectangles?! This is the big issue that needs addressing.
