nah man, singsing will just get mom+basher and make rape
also, friend just pointed out to me
all teams will be nervously anticipating an invite and hoping to participate in the event that had featured the prizepool of $1 million dollars

exactly why i am hating twista so much. even if they got the 5th soon enough AND get invited, mouz is still probably gonna get rolled.

It's kinda sad how they don't hold at least a few qualifiers for this. Teams that win deserve a spot whether or not the people who send the invites thinks so. But then I guess it wouldn't be called an invitational. If you're holding a million dollar tournament it shouldn't be made up of just a small number of teams anyway. Now I'm just wondering if coL and ex gosu will be invited. They aren't the best, but they've gone toe to toe with just about everyone, although imo ex gosu is definitely better.

They have Qualifiers Every other tournament,

Below the obvious na'vi, CLG, m5 there's a gray area where it's hard to determine who's better than who. When it comes down to that they should just host a tournament and see who wins out.

those invites look pretty.

May be OK for 2-4 qualifier spots, but you want to reward teams for consistent performance and stability rather than just peaking at the right time, so inviting teams is good in that sense. There are also factors such as using stand-ins and needing to play qualifiers online more than likely rather than having a LAN tourney for it.
EDIT: I suppose that having invitational qualifiers for the last 8 spots or so is better because there are probably many teams who are about the same level.
I wonder if they will look to invite teams from all continents. Last time there were no teams from Oceania, South America or Africa. Almost surely aL will get invited, but I don't know about the other 2 continents. I have never even heard of any teams from Africa, but maybe paiN from Brazil could get an invite? (Only South American team I know). The problem, of course, are these relatively unknown teams may just get steamrolled.

If stability plays a factor in who they send invites to then ehome is unlikely to get an invite. Hell, even some of the other chinese teams which deserve one would be counted out (not that I'm saying ehome doesn't deserve an invite).

Tobi confirmed in a Q&A that stability is important.

My guess is that they will select the best teams that they *know* will attend the tournament.

The thing is, TI itself creates a lot of the instability. It's very apparent in recent player's interview, notably chinese players.

they should invite Orange for TI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Y-GOD and M-GOD will destroy everyone for 1 million dollar!!!!!!

The way I understood it is that they will send five separate personal invitations to the people that form a team. They must be able to keep the roster stable, so you can play at the tournament with the invited five. I don't think a currently-viable-for-invite team having swapped players recently will make too much of a difference, but after the invites go out, it'll be too late to shuffle.

This was the case for the first International. Several Chinese teams underwent major roster changes during the period between when invites went out and when the event happened (pretty much every team but EHOME), but at the International they were required to compete with the rosters that were in place at the time of invitation.

Yeah this inconsistancy isn't good at all.......the game being in the Beta isn't a great excuse either, I don't want this to be an "indicator" of things to come. On a side note - Link needs to get picked up by a team !
