There'll likely be like, 3 Chinese teams, Zenith, mufc, mineski, orange. At LEAST. They're going to want to put a good impression on the Asian teams, so as to market to that scene I would assume. Then theres Navi Virtus.Pro Darer M5, CLG mouz, EG coL Quantic ItsGosu and more. Not many spaces left DK EHOME LGD +1 Chinese team Zenith aL Mineski Orange MUFC NaVi CLG EG ex-Gosu itGoSu coL 4 Chinese, 4 SEA, 4 USA, 4 EU i think virtus.pro, darer, mouz, mTw and m5 will fight for last spot MUFC and mineski should be ranked wayyyy behind zenith... they just got a 10+ win streak recently until they lost to Orange. EG is questionable, they should be invited last since their players has novisa issue and theircurrent line up has not show any good result recently. Same goes to itsgosu, exgosu and coL. teams like M5 or Virtus.Pro are incredibly strong right now and mouz, mTw, Next.KZ are all on the rise. I wouldnt be surprised if EU got more than just 4 slots due to how poorly NA scene is playing. the fact is The International 2 in US Seattle
4x US teams are 100% for me due this.

IMO the new mTw has proven to be a good team, but we'll see. The DotA2 scene is new even if the DotA scene is old. In a year or two i'm sure we'll have a stable scene with stable teams and stable rosters.

I guess if they were basing invites from a few months ago.

and who care about American? ya you love your country alright but last time i check most of them were playing LoL. Seriously, 2 NA teams is more than enough and i am counting EG as an NA team.
and i am willing to go as far calling gosugamer ranking chart bullshit. Unless we have a ranking chart in Liquidpedia or playdota, im not buying into any of those crap :-/

Seems I can stack both camps with cutting down a tree about half the time, still can't get it quite right. Feels like half the time I pull just a split second too early or late, causing either the top one or the bottom one to not stack.

I agree MUFC and Mineski should be behind Zenith but remember, The International is also Valve's chance to market their game to their viewing audience, and ignoring the Malaysian market is suicide.
And yes I forgot about AL herpderp, those guys are almost definitely in, without a doubt a top team and in Australia no less.
That said I disagree a bit more with your list dragonborn. There is no way that Darer and Virtus.Pro are 'behind' itsgosu, exgosu, and coL, they would be right there alongside those teams. Mouz might even be higher just due to the fact that they perform well, and have singsing who is the highest ranked, and probably most popular player there is.
The only real locks of non Asian teams are I would say Na'vi and Absolute Legends due to their performance and location. After that there seem to be 10 teams vying for 6 spots or so.
CLG might be a lock as long as they keep their current, supremely steady performance. They are also far and away the best Swedish/Northern European team. And it seems like they'll add Misery too, that is a menacingly strong lineup.

So if DK gets 2-0d 3 times in the next week, it means we take away their invites?
i dont understand where the whole oh man they lost that one time so they arent good anymore
btw to everyone that are speaking about location and having representent from other countries and different market. This is made by Valve, money will never be a problem and they said before, the best teams will be invited. Not teams that will most likely ensure to please everyone.

i would put them above of VP and Darer.
like you said, The International is valve's chance to market DotA 2 to viewer audience, so nothing wrong to inviting 4 American team in US located tournament.

Theyre not gonna invite 4 american teams. I mean the last International was played in germany and there wasnt a single german team. Maybe GGnet can be counted as german but still, i think valves criteria arent based on where teams are from. At least not mainly.

The NA scene is so damn small its not even worth to expand the market to. DotA main markets has always been EU and China and SEA.
Ex-gosu isnt a stable pick either bc their captain is now playing for EG. No sponsor plus lack in stable line up will kill them. The only 2 chances right now to get ticket to the international 2 are JoinDotA tournaments (the defense 2 coming up) and LAN at dreamhack. I doubt the result of small online tourneys such as itsgosu cup would affect IceFrog invites.

not to mention EG was one of the teams they beat in their streak, sweet justice.

exgosu could meet EG in a bo3 tomorrow, but I'm not sure EG can beat Complexity to get there.
