My team is all on the west coast so we generally play on USW and USE. We aren't really opposed to playing on EU for scrims and tournies just because we want the experience (we get about 220-280 ping on average). Also, advice as far as practice methods, approaching other teams for scrims, and getting into leagues is also helpful. We all live together in a house (fuck yea team house!) so generally every day is eat, sleep, dota with the occasional part time job. Just living the dream for now and want to get into some serious Dota.

I used to be a semi-pro a while ago, training was not optimal (5-6 hours a day). we reached the top here in brazil, but the lack of good hostsbots did not allow us to grow as much as we wanted to (could not play international tournaments with less then 300 ping). You have the oportunity I wish I had I while ago. Glhf, and don't give up!

I am trying to put together a good list of things to do while streaming such as replay analysis, viewer interaction (games, chatting, whatever), and fun stuff (divine courage, singing, lols). I actually come from a Sc2 background and saw what the power of streaming can do to get you noticed by the community and by sponsors (Mr Bitter, Destiny, Catz). My goal isn't to make a living off streaming though, I really want to kick some ass so that will always be my foremost focus. I have sworn off sites like Digg and Reddit (such huge time sinks) but I guess I should be checking /r/DotA2 every now and again.

Thanks for the tips NB. I see you as one of the elder DotA gods on the TL forums, I'm glad to take your advice! What IH leagues are there to get in to? My teammates are all former HoN players and they know a few but I am very new to the community.

Is there anywhere I can find out when all the tournaments big and small are? www.joindota.com is great, it has a list of all or nearly all of the upcoming games. Just make sure you have an account so you can turn spoilers off. If joindota casts the game the vods are available shortly afterwards. www.gosugamers.net is another amazing source. Click the dota 2 tab and they have stuff under Vods for past games or a list of games coming up. As far as casters go, the ones off the top of my head are Tobi Wan Kenobi, Ayesee, Purge Gamers (ggnet purge), Luminous. Just googling those names followed by "dota 2" shold let you find them. Hope this helps!

Lastly you need to get some personal relationship with high level players bc most of the top high level games right now are just done by friend list (2 people asking each other for scrim on friendlist and pull their team in). idk, being place in USW has a pros and cons: you can try out SEA/chinese sever with relatively good ping but got separated from majority of the english speaking dota community which is located in EU my friend just told me about chat channel findscrim ... not sure but check it out :-/
