I'm not sold that this is real, if you look on their fb page: Theres an "official" post that says this:
"I believe this is the only REAL Dota 2 Beta page that will provide legit ways on how to join the Dota 2 Beta. All the others are scams. Share this with your friends so they could join the beta too!"
That doesn't sound "official", plus why would they announce this on twitter/fb and not update their own Dota 2 blog? It's not like Valve is looking for more friends or followers.

Not mentioning the fact there is post telling people to watch the final, live. But the earlist post was made 20 hours ago.

link(ex-NE gamescom backup team) just said on his stream, that when the players who received Dota 2 beta to practice for The International didn't have good enough computers to play it, Valve just bought them new hardware so that they could run it.
Just a little piece of information I thought was pretty cool and I wanted to share it

Did someone else notice, that they sometimes use the class name and sometimes the name of the hero, e.g Zeus but Shadow Fiend?

Not really uncommon.
People say Magina/Furion/Mirana etc all the time instead of their usual name
I call pudge pudge and not the butcher(its the butcher right?)
Same with Slardar, Lina, Lion, Puck(is he called puck as a hero too?)
I dunno, its a habit and perhaps with names which are too long or hard to pronounce its easier to just say the hero name.

Heroes in Dota 2 only have one name I believe. Sometimes it's the Dota 1 class name, sometimes it's the heroes name, that's why it works that way. It was the same way in Dota 1 to be honest, some heroes were called by both their names, some more often by their class names, like BloodSeeker, Enchantress and Axe, some more often by their Hero names, like Pudge, Slark and Pugna.
It feels weird having that feature removed, but besides IP problems with several heroes, it did led to unecessary confusion. I'll definatelly miss the easter egg rare names though.
