On September 3, evil will be reborn on console systems throughout the world with the release of Diablo® III on the PlayStation™ 3 and Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft. That's right, Diablo III will be unleashing hell on both Xbox 360 and PS3™ before summer's end, so lock in your preorders with your local retailer soon. As an added bonus, all preorders of the Xbox 360 and PS3™ versions of Diablo III will include the exclusive Infernal Helm (in-game item only. . .though we have to admit it'd look pretty sharp IRL). Wearable at level 1, the Infernal Helm confers a +EXP bonus to help you whip your new PlayStation™ or Xbox® characters into shape. Plus, it looks sweet as hell on all five mortal heroes of Sanctuary—be it the Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Wizard, Demon Hunter, or Monk. Keep in mind that the redeemable key for the Infernal Helm, which you will find in your preordered console copy of Diablo III on launch day, requires an Internet connection to be redeemed and cannot be transferred across platforms. Be sure to get your preorder lined up for the PS3™ or Xbox 360 versions of the game and prepare your thumbs to do battle against the sinister forces of the Burning Hells. ![[image loading]](https://bnetcmsus-a.akamaihd.net/cms/content_folder_media/9DRMMUI54FIK1370387988852.jpg) Please note that as the Xbox 360 version of Diablo III was announced today, it may take retailers several days to set up their product pages for this new version of the game. Be sure to check back if you don’t see Diablo III for Xbox 360 listed on retailers' websites.
After playing the PS3 version at PAX I'm really looking forward to this!

So let me get this straight, console and pc versions are apparently going to have different items...or do we PC users just not get that helm and they can get kerrigans wings or what ever? How is this gonna work with battle.net?
|
I wish they announced this prior to releasing it on PC. The game was so pre-dumbed down in order to make sure this could happen. I can imagine its 100 times better on consoles than PC. But I refuse to pay twice after the massive let down that was brought on from the D3 Auction House.
I just wonder how many of the great ideas that were original announced for D3 were dropped because "its too hard to work on consoles"

No way long distance projectiles can be anywhere as accurate as PC.

Curious how this will be on consoles.Hope blizzard manges to pull out a high quality product

Ah, so now it becomes plainly clear why Blizzard toned D2 several pegs down in complexity -- to readily facilitate console porting!
Just kidding, kinda

Why the hell would I play it on a console when pc version sucks.

I mean, were all over diablo 3 by now, but that screen cap actually kinda looks fuuuun.

Probably a very small minority here, but I actually only barely played D3. My friend bought a couple collector's editions, and gave me the code for one of them although I only hit like level 14 with a Witch Doctor. I might buy it this time... =D

Myself and both of my roommates all play diablo 3 so depending on how well playing on one screen works this could be awesome fun and hopefully a good change of pace to get our interest back in diablo 3 again.

Ironically, it seems the PC version is the dumbed down one (P2W AH etc). Haven't decided whether I'll get it, but honestly it looks a lot better than the PC version with offline, supposedly improved loot system, and local co-op without split screen, etc.

This is definitely an interesting concept. I dont know whether i'd actually just buy it or not.

They'll probably manage to pull out about a third of a high quality product. It's got the Blizzard Guarantee.

Ya I really feel shafted by Blizz on this one. A company is a company.

So the rumors WERE true! They all said this game was designed to be ported to a console eventually. I can't believe its actually happened. Although I can't say I really noticed that big of a difference anyway (between D2 and D3). But the hardcore people might have

then you didn't play d2 my wife played d3 first and then played d2 and immediately saw and commented on major differences like stamina bar, walking vs running, etc.

Funny because its true, and because it was likely intended as a troll for d3 fanboys.

Your wife sounds awesome.
Mines just bad. She only plays MMO's and thinks dynasty warriors / tekken / final fantasy is bad. Like gtfo. I guess she came to a barcraft with me once, thats a bonus
