Community Guides
As the title may tell this thread is for hosting guides created by our own community members. Each week before NA community night we will have a host that will give light to a specific topic. The teaching will be part hands on and part lecture. These guides found in here will be the result of said teachings. Every player is welcome to join in on the teaching up to server capacity. Questions should be asked to clarify anything misunderstood. Please do not be a distraction by spamming flashes, flying around with no-clip, or any other similar behavior. Any player with sufficient knowledge may become a teacher by contacting me. This thread will also serve as the place to discuss any guides.
If you have any ideas that you would like to see covered and don't have sufficient knowledge to teach it yourself please post it here and hopefully someone will step forward to teach.
Upcoming Teaching: de_dust2 A site setup, interactive lesson. This lesson will begin 25 minutes before TL community night.

dont be afraid to ask for anything you'd like to know more about!

This sounds really cool. If there's someone that has the capacity to record in a decent quality I think it would also be a great thing to make into a youtube video so that the VoD is available to those who can't be there.

A personal guide to teach Varanice how to .ready up is in order.
Though I guess with forcestart that's now a moot issue. :<

I plan on recording it and uploading it to youtube. The quality is so-so. I already thought of that guide souma and was planning on doing it as a gag but you ruined it

Option1:
You stay on site or goose and try to kill as many T's as possible.
This is not really a good option, since you will either fight a 1v3 (if you stay goose) or a 1v5 (if you stay on site). The usual understanding in CS:GO is that you kill 1 (because of defender's advantage) and then you will get trade killed.
In the best case scenario, you will get a 2nd kill (usually when opponent's mess up).
If you go by this scenario, you will let your team mates either do a 2v3 or a 2v4 retake, given the T's have full control of the bomb site and even all rotation routes.
They can leave 1 player at long and/or they can leave 1 player at short. If you follow the concept of trade kills and the defenders advantage, if you team mates choose to retake from short or long, they will most likely lose 1 player, before they even get to the site, leaving your last team mate in a 1v2 or 1v3 clutch, where his location is known and the location of the T's are unkown.
If they go from CT spawn, you will walk into crossfire situations from short and site and later from long and short.
This does not sound like a winnable situation.
Option 2:
You drop down to CT spawn.
Cross will most likely be smoked off and even if not, when the bomb is going short, they can safely plant it, leaving your team in a 3v5 retake situation, where T's have full control of the bombsite and rotations. Now they can even 2 team on short/long, leaving you in a similar situation for a retake (You trade kill 2v2) leaving your last team mate in a 1v3 clutch.
Option 3:
You push long.
1v3 does not sound very reasonable. By pushing long, you also will be exposed and without cover, meaning you most likely will only get a single kill before you will be traded considering both sites are pushing and the "defenders advantage" is more or less negated.
Similar scenario as option 1 or 2, even if you get 2 kills.
Option 4:
You push short.
Now it get's interesting. Also considering that enemies will be pushing at the same time, the defender's advantage does not apply to them to the same degree. Winning a 1v2 situation still does sound unreasonable, but if you compare it with the other scenarios (1v2 vs 1v3 or 1v5) it sounds a lot more doable.
When you can manage to pull it off, it leaves you in an interesting 3v3 situation. Where T's have full control of the bombsite, but suddenly you have control of short, meaining you don't have to trade kill to get to the site and you also have the option to come from CT spawn, since the crossfire "advantage" is heavily weakened.

you're making assumptions that you don't have any smokes to work with nor flashes. A lot of those scenarios change when we have access to nades, thus not having to necessarily push places to make a play.

Plot twist: I have an AWP. I snipe them down one by one. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Throw a smoke on site, and hide in it til they plant. Ninja defuse for ez lulz.
+ Show Spoiler +
But seriously, I'd smoke/molly off cat, maybe 1 flash to delay cat as long as possible (assuming there are going to be 2 coming from there, see what your team mate mid calls), jump down to cross, pop flash peek long to try and get a kill or two as they cross + throwing smokes (the pop flash almost always gets people as they make their way up long) to equalize the situation as much as possible.
If you get a kill and survive great, fall back/hide in smoke and try to pick off more as they cross. Goal is to get 2 kills and not get traded (ideally)
If you don't get a kill, fall back and see if they can get picks crossing, if yes, see if retake viable, if not, fall back and save If you get traded, you/team mates should fall back and see if they can get picks crossing to make a retake viable. If you get rekt peeking even though they were flashed: 1. got outplayed/outlucked, cry in a little corner at how bad you are. 2. call hacks, report, rage quit... then cry in a little corner at how bad you are.
else fall back and save rifles and bitch at why pork couldn't hold long for shit.

Thank you for all your responses (EXCEPT NAGI)! The question was more intended to be an example on what type of discussion we will have on friday. Perhaps this will get people thinking for the discussion beforehand and that'll help greatly!

1v5 when you already have A site isn't going to happen. Though a 1v4 or 1v3 could happen. I suppose what you should do won't change much. You certainly will have to do something to force a fight or two. Preferably see if you can get a quick kill on cat and either adjust back to site for a long pick or drop ct. but if you drop ct you basically lose, you won't be able to stop one of 3 people from defusing.
if you have nades by all means use them immediately, before you get bum rushed.
Edit: also I'm an awper, so this could be biased towards what an awper should do, lol.

Community guides is a good idea. Nice one pork. Hopefully it will help increase the overall skill of the TL player base.

Why do that when you can just cerry us No0n :D

Well, smoking cat could help, but if the ts have some kind of game sense they would know that you are alone in the A site. They just flash/push right through your smoke and make a nice sandwich. You'd lack any cover if you'd jump down to ct spawn.
So when you're not in the mood to channel your inner KennyS, dance around headshotbox and awp them one by one (given you have an awp and they can't manage to trade effectively), I would also suggest to try counterpushing A short. Best case scenario with a flash.

Nice lesson by DR. kdallas. Once again, another reason to blame pork because he was supposed to help him with the lesson but probably slept through it.

This is normally what I do, its atleast 1 kill gauranteed and at my level they often lineup because wall hugging. Most MM's arent organized enough for effective re-takes
If your playing on a team ofcourse you have alot more options, you still have most of your teams tech and they just spent most of theirs taking the site.
