GosuGamers has a nice interview with SlayerS_BoxeR about the DreamHack Invite, his thoughts on TSL3 upsets, and the Korean/International scene coming together.
This will be your first time in Sweden and Europe. What are your expectations of the country?
- It is actually my first time in Europe, so I’m definitely looking forward it. Sweden always used to be a country I wanted to visit because of its great landscape. Furthermore, it is the first real international tournament I’m participating in, so I will make sure to present myself in a best shape.
...
What are your reactions on the recent downfall of Koreans in the TSL? Players as NesTea, MVP and FruitDealer lost. Aside from the lag, do you see any other reasons why Koreans wouldn't be able to overcome their foreigner opponents?
In Starcraft 1, Koreans are a dominating force, so even without a proper strategy, it is possible for most of the gamers to keep up with the international players. But in Starcraft 2, the gap between Korean gamers and international gamers is literally zero. The minute you lose track of your game may result in a loss, and it has become very difficult to bounce back.

Of course I saw that thread, it's not an acceptable OP and focuses only on the lag discussion, I don't think that's fair to GG or Boxer at all (even though what he said is nice from a TSL perspective). Thread is also closed.

Awesome interview.

Always giving us love Hot_Bid <3
Can't wait to see how well he performs
Great interview. Hopefully boxer plays well at Dreamhack.

Can't blame him for trying.
But the article is secretly hilarious. If you look, the excerpts on the right are basically them paraphrasing the hell out of his answer into something more interesting. And they do this for every answer.
Also wasn't prepared for the large amount of sexiness in that article. Boxer is roughly 60(?)kgs of twisted steel and sex appeal.
Awesome interviews Their site makes me appreciate TL news a lot more instead of squeezing the article together with pictures so you are almost reading straight down word for word.
I love how Hot_Bid finds an acceptable OP, so he closes it and creates one himself.
The interview is great. I'm assuming it was done in English? BoxeR is always so articulate. That man knows exactly what to say.
Huk is tight with Boxer? Wicked. Go Canada It's cool that they list ALL of Boxer's past achievements at the end too.
Yes, in the beginning it felt like running with a sandbag. However, once you get used to it, it doesn’t really affect your game.
bam.
didn't even know he was going to dreamhack, double awesome!
Thanks Hot_Bid! After closing the old one I was actually thinking of making a new one myself, but I wanted to eat first
Edit:
I had a good laugh out of this tho xD

"As for the international gamers in Korea, Jinro is an amazing gamer and I think, he has what it takes to stay on top for a long time. "
Boxer gonna try to recruit Jinro?
Was a good read. I'm kind of hoping that one day the international scene will get big enough to the point where Koreans are moving abroad.
but nonetheless, it is something we, Koreans, need to work on. I mean, all we can do is prepare ourselves accordingly, and try to play our best game.
Boxer. My man. Sets a great example for all the people complaining about the lag.
now THIS makes me regret that i didnt buy tickets....
Always nice to read what Boxer has to say. I hope he does well at DreamHack.
This man is such an incredible baller. I really like how he does not makes excuses for the losing, it is just more like that if you don't play well, the Koreans are not going to win. Best of luck at DreamHack and everything else!
I'm glad Boxer is going to be at Dreamhack, it really gives tournys more exposure when Legends like him are playing(not that Dreamhack wasn't already huge). He really is the Face of E-Sports for us and he's always done a good job at promoting it, and taking a look at global perspectives for the industry!
i hope he comes to foreign tournaments more often now
I really hope Boxer does well at DreamHack, it would be orgasmically awesome if he were able to come back to the top. Every time I watch him, I'm constantly imagining him with the plot of the Rocky movies. I mean it just fits so perfectly, was once the top, then got older and still comes back to the top over and over again.

"Furthermore, it is the first real international tournament I’m participating in, so I will make sure to present myself in a best shape."
My respect for Boxer has risen by several orders. Hopefully he (and other koreans) will continue to fly to the major LAN-environment tournaments outside Korea <3

I've never been so hyped for anything. BoxeR in Sweden. Never in a thousand years that I would have guessed that just 2 months ago :D

Rofl. This is like a chuck norris joke. If hotbid is told his thread already exists he closes the other one!
I'm not sure whether boxer is insinuating that sc2 has a lower skill season or foreign players are on par skill wise...

Furthermore, it is the first real international tournament I’m participating in
WCG diss right there

You can't blame him. The lag is absolutely deadly

Boxer talking with alot of experience and as a mature progamer. Can't wait to see him perform again
Thank you to the OP for starting this thread. I saw the other one, which has only a few posts related, and they more upon a lag discussion.
It's truly great when a pro-gamer comes forward and speaks clearly and well, politely, and without blame of imbalance, race, etc., but instead with reverence, zeal and humility. Each and every time these great interviews take place it is a step forward in the right direction of eSports making it big.
It further impresses me that he acknowledges his stage as a pro-gamer, and his acceptance of the fans in wanting good games to watch - for the entertainment. Be it from a quick and dirty Micro heavy fight where each player is looking for that sliver of an advantage, to a long drawn out reoccurring battlefield, with ever-expanding tech, spells, and back and forth positioning akin to chess. Boxer gets this - the fans watch, the fans want exciting games. We all know the reaction to a great (entertaining) play - see the fan reaction to HuK's Mothership rush at MLG(?), and from that we get the saying: "Mothership Rush - even when you lose - you win."

Thanks for posting the link. Good to know BoxeR shows some respect to the foreign players.

See this is what I love about boxer, he experiences lag, and does he bitch about it? Complain about the huge handicap it represents? QQ about the major imbalance it causes? no, he says its something he needs to adapt to and moves on. This is the type of stuff that makes me support a player.
so, that said, boxer fighting!
When this man speaks, he moves mountains and the entire landscape changes. I will forever be a fan, Boxer fighting!
Wow Boxer opens up to the non-Korean community. Pretty cool. I've always wanted to visit Sweden/Europe too.
Boxer has such a great personality, good luck to him at DH!
Great interview, always great to read what a legend thinks about the foreigner scene. I wish I was able to go to Dreamhack, just to admire him!
Huk and Boxer, sitting in a tree...
I mean what?
Yeah, I'm jealous
Very nice interview. Boxer is an amazing baller and it's really exciting to see him breaking into the foreigner scene. If someone told me a year ago that Boxer would be in TSL3 I would never have believed it. There are certainly some advantages to SC2 being a new and untapped game.
Interview was kinda meh. Questions were repetitive and didn't really dig for more info. Felt like you could ask those question to any korean pro and get the same answers...
We need better interviews with the living legend!
Amazing interview can't wait to see boxer at dreamhack
Aww, BoxeR is such a gent. Have so much respect for him not just as a player, but also as a person.

Speaking of NaDa, if Boxer's so buddy buddy with our dear players, how come we can't forcefully-become friends with NaDa? I mean, he's on the shared team and all (this is all in the grand scheme to introduce NaDa to the Shrine we have Erected to his Body...)
Boxer all the way Man, if only he'd come to Switzerland, or even France/Germany/Italy!
the gap between Korean gamers and international gamers is literally zero
do koreans use the word 'literally' improperly too? or is that just a crappy translator being naive?
Great interview. Looking forward to see his games at Dreamhack
Too bad im not Living in Stockholm so i could meet him ;(

Wow, I didn't had any idea GG is such a powermonkey in sc2. Any Boxer even is a good event.
