Let's put it in perspective; TOUCH JUST GOT ON STARTALE GET HYPE!
seriously, saying he is not worthy of getting on the team just stinks of jealousy. How many of you went down to Korea pretty much unannounced and then proceeded to qualify for the GSL?
Oh yeah....just him.
Even if you are not his fan it's a great stride for all of foreign SC players. Be happy for the guy, living the dream man.
in short, TOUCH HWAITING!!!!!!
It does sound fishy, considering Idra, Jinro, Haypro, Sen, Ret and Loner has more success than Torch. Reading the news in TL, i read that Startale was having a little bit of financial difficulties and had to resolve to a smaller team house than they wanted, so maybe Torch offered them money in exchange for invitation to the team? Dunno, but possible.

Wow this is huge for Torch, there he has the opportunity to develop as a player around a the great players at ST

Wow, did not expect that. Fucking awesome. :D

Considering all those people are already on teams that pay them, it doesn't sound fishy at all. VT gaming, from what I understand is more of a clan that doesn't have much or any sponsorship.
EDIT: Congrats Torch!. That's pretty awesome

WWWHHHAAAATTTTT!!!!?
Congratulations! Best of luck to him and hope we get to see more of him in the future.

oh big news. And this isnt supposed to be bashing Torch, but i guess i am right when i say his strength are more "cerebral" than mechanical. Looking forward to see him play with some "Gaming House" induced Macro. Might be entertaining to watch.
Good Luck to you

Haha, TorcH paying ST to get on the team? That's rich. I wasn't aware the Korean teams were looking for foreign talent, but this is awesome news! TorcH has potential, so its good that hes getting consistent training. FIGHTING!

Kind of unexpected. Cool to hear they're recruiting foreigners though. I guess those Torch business cards worked!

wow, out of the blue for me. That's f'ing great for Torch, congrats and good luck. Code S incoming!

Nice for Torch
I hope they will improve his macro in ST. I really like his unique openings (more creative T openings than TLO ever had) and i think this is also one of the reasons ST picked him up apart from the Code A. I bet St coaches got all the replays of torch from various tournaments and analysed them thoroughly. Saw some really creative openings but lacking the late macro game and based on their observation they decided that this aspect of his game has a chance of improvement. Also their management pointed out that they will have more coverage this way. So for them its a win-win situation for getting Torch.

Nice unexpected news. Hurrah! ^_^
Tired of all the people bashing on Torch's skillz. He may not be at the top, but he is not far from it. Hopefully Korea will improve his game a lot (as it has with other foreigners). And, even if he doesn't improve enough to become a major tournament contender, he will at least be in a high profile scene where he can make the contacts and gain the insight he needs to help boost e-sports (which seems to be his overall goal).
Congrats to Torch. He is a smart, mature, and level-headed guy who can become a valuable asset to the e-sports community.
Also props to ST for picking up a foreigner. The Korean scene still feels really isolated. Though none of the Western tournaments are as high-profile as GSL yet, the player pool in the West feels much more diverse and interesting. If Korea can open up more to global players, it will undoubtedly be good for them and e-sports as a whole.

I have feeling he main job wont playing, at least not in Korea. My guts are telling me his role will be more managerial than that. He has shown us before that he is intrested in those things. Im guessing he will be representing ST in the foreign scene. Recruitment, PR, assisting other foreigners that sort of a thing.

If this were 100% true that, is still not a bad deal. I can dig it. I am interested to see what becomes of this.

Torch will be a beast practicing with those powerhouses! Congrats FireHair!
