The specs are; CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 Memory: 4GB Graphics Card: GeForce GT210 Now, what would be the best graphics card to upgrade to for $200 AUD (since that above is total crap), also, what potential upgrades could be done to the CPU?

Q8300 is pretty weak but isn't really the problem here as it's a 45nm quad core, which is perfectly fine for anything. GT210 is a rebranded 9500GT so a good replacement would probably a gtx260, which i'm sure is within $200 AUD although i don't know the prices there.

I want to buy a notebook. I'm IT Specialist myself, but I've never had a notebook before, so I want to ask for your advice and/or experiences. I need a multimedia/gaming notebook which can guarantee me following things: - can play 720p and at best 1080p movies without lag - let me play mid-class games (graphic wise, examples: Titan Quest, Torchlight, Warcraft 3) - 15,4" - 17" display - HDD doesn't matter that much. Everything from 160GB ++ is fine. - No onboard graphic trash.. Yes.. and it should be around 400-700 Euro. Thanks in advance!

Laptops are soooooo homogenized, because retailers have realized that with laptops they can charge whatever the fuck they want and can't get undercut by retailers like newegg because ATM people can't build their own laptops. Seriously, buy a netbook and then build yourself a desktop.

You can also optimise your build for gaming at the cost of slower disk read/write, crappy mobo's, non-modular PSU's and what not. For a cheap gaming PC you wanna fork out as much money on a GFX card as you can get, and then cut costs everywhere else. Get the cheapest PCI 2.0 mobo, 2GB RAM, a low-clock dual core and overclock, a cheap WD 80GB HD, and one of those crappy grey cases if possible. However in terms of practicality (office use) and looks (if you have friends) it just sucks. So you might wanna use that as a base and then balance it out. Anyways Mine is a server computer, once better GFX cards come out though ill probably build a gaming computer (again, i sold my last one), because its gonna get bottlenecked by the x16 PCI slot, and DDR3 seems to support 12GB anyway. Intel S5000XVN Mobo GF GTS250 16GB Fully Buffered DDR2 RAM 2x Quad-Core Xeon 5410 (8 cores in total) I use a disk hierarchy to keep everything fast 1 disk for games and apps, another as a repository for code and internet cache, and another for my OS. And then some big ones on a server sitting in another room for storing all my media/code backups/etc. I did have an SSD which i used for loading the games/apps (damn it was fast) but it failed a while ago, which is why im using a normal disk atm.

Don't just overclock the 920 via multiplier, also overclock it via raising the FSB so your RAM will run a bit faster. Also 650w MIGHT be a bit skimpy for a 4890 but it will probably work fine.

A 520W would be skimpy. Not a 650W. It is a Corsair ffs.

Mobo: nForce 750i A friend has it and loves it. Graphics: GeForce 9800 By recommendation of another friend. CPU: Pentium Dual-core E6500 Wolfdale 2.96 gigahertz overclocked to 3.3 ish Ram: 2gb for starters Power supply: 700 watt Rosewill Green HDD: WD 350 gig SATA 3gb/s OS: Windows 7 64 bit to allow for future ram And found a case with 3 built in 120mm fans, Front, side, and back with 3 more 120mm fan spaces: 2 on top and one on the other side, and an 80mm slot on back. Total is $700-ish not including monitor. What do you think

If you are going to go 64bit, just start with 4gig ram, you will be using ddr2 anyway. That said, ddr2 and ddr3 prices are converging, if memory price is a concern for not moving on, well, that's not an issue anymore. That price, btw, feels quite wrong though. I recently build an AMD equivalent (slightly more expensive at that) of that for a friend at a much lower price, and that's with 4gig ram and a much better gfx card. Check for deals.

If you are low on budget get a 4850. PSU Corsair VX450-> http://www.corsair.com/products/vx/default.aspx Also you should really get 4 Go Ram.
