It is a cake, just with decoration.

The air units required a bit of thinking outside the box, and I had to do it with what I had. I basically just use everything you would normally use for a cake, plus tin foil because I did not have any other silver and the stuff to make the air units fly. Be creative :D

The top turret assembly before it's put on the base

The bottom base before coloring and the top turret assembly (look like of bad at this stage).

The cake after we merged the top and bottom! Now we add some extra frosting to make it look extra nice.

Finally finished with the radar on top and added some coloring on each side.

I hate to rain on peoples parades... or maybe i'm just a really horrible troll... Anyways I have not entered a cake and do not plan to but, doesn't it seem like this vince01 fellow has two posts (all of which are in this thread) and joined June 4th 2009. (does the eligibility of joining TL prior to June 1st relate to the cake baking contest?)
Anyways I don't usually post things that call people out, but beta keys are at stake for people who actually looks like took a lot of time for this thing.

The 10 cakes used. One of the large round ones was cut up into smaller ones to raise the height of the pillars.

Doing the second coat of icing (the first coat was a white sealing coat) and decorating it with a piping bag and skittles.
