If he lacks both mechanics and cheese "skill" how the hell did the "progamer" lose to him then?

People who are hating with something that is right should go and 1. look at the games then 2. read what idra said about the games he basicly said 'i lost because he didnt do what every korean b-teamer would do', as chill said 'robodra'

On February 23 2009 14:49 IdrA wrote: if you're gonna publicize something from a private forum you could at least do all of it what have i said that wasnt true? and i did not flame him before the match, i did not shittalk. i was asked for a prediction and i gave one. i was wrong, that doesnt mean it was shittalking. i said he wasnt as good as korean zergs. hes not. How does this first part that IdrA provides... match up with all of this? The first part is like 'Yeah I played poorly', yet the rekrul quotes blame F91 instead of yourself. Look IdrA, I won't lie. I don't like you - from what I've seen here and other accounts of your personality. I'm not going to pretend for one stitch of time that I do like you. However, distaste aside, Rek's got a lot of points here. Fucking respect the guy, whether he's some D- abuser or fucking BoxeR himself. You lost. Not just 3-4, but 2-5 in a series that you even claimed you would win 5-2. Not only that, but some of those games were downright awful. And some of your remarks (which you have proven the veracity of with your "quote the whole thing" statement) are plain asinine. You say first this means that an intelligent zerg will go 2 hatch, my build was designed to take advantage of that and so lost because he went 3 hatch. going 3 hatch is utterly retarded for the reasons i just explained so yes i did lose because he did something dumb. He went for the "dumb" build, and you looked utterly foolish against it. Seriously dude, he embarrassed you with that build. If it was so bad that it could be classified as "retarded", why would anyone, and I mean ANYONE, use it, especially against someone of your caliber, getting your training? Think about it. Just because it isn't the norm, doesn't make it retarded. It worked, for Christ's sake. You say it isn't brilliant, and it wasn't, but it wasn't "dumb" or "retarded" by any means. He exploited your mindset. kinda already talked about this too. i scanned the lurker opening on andro and as he is an allin player and he did a lurker allin the game before i assumed he would do it again and built bunkers and a quick dropship. delayed my barracks and my vessel. instead of allining he powered, added more hatches, and went hive (and delayed his lurkers doing so). no amount of micro or game sense or scanning or whatever bullshit you're babbling about can save any terran from that point. I'm sure enough digging through replays can disprove your statement that he is an "all-in" player. Again, here he exploited your mindset here. He isn't "stupid" and he again was able to predict you. Granted, none of those things could've saved you, but I'm sure you know the saying about assuming. i said before i lost on chupung because it didnt look like an allin, he waited longer than usual for some reason and so my tanks were out of place. also i made 2 bunkers. 3 is the failsafe vs an allin. doesnt change the fact that it was an allin, just like taking a fast 3rd on tau was risky. my point is he won because he took risks and they paid off. congrats to him, but people trying to use the games to comment on skill are clueless. He took risks. You really didn't. The real issue here is the whole "people trying to use the games on skill are clueless" line. What the fuck are we supposed to use then, guesses? Yes, you are on CJ Entus, in Korea. Yes, he is in China, not on a pro-team. But he just beat the living daylights out of you in a best of 7 series five games to two. And you want to tell us he's not the better player, because he used "dumb" builds? Alright, then, Bisu is 2-4 vs. Jaedong, but you know what? I think Bisu is better than Jaedong, because I don't think Jaedong used good builds those games. Bisu wasn't prepared. I don't actually know the premise of those games (I took two random gamers on my mind and TLPDed it), but that's basically what you're asking us to do. boxer was a cheesy player with no mechanics.... in 2002... when no one had mechanics. before he went to the army his macro, though not the best in korea, was more than adequate and his micro was still among the best, on top of his creativity. and he was creative. sure he did run of the mill cheeses, but he also came up with shit no one else would do. f91 fails on both those counts. he is not mechanically clean, at all. hell the andro game he banked like 3k/3k off of 3 gas. maybe he was saving for ultras, but i think he put up his ultra den after his money started climbing out of control (kinda has to have actually, you dont hit 3k/3k in the build time of an ultra den). and he is not clever. he simply hopes you dont guess or read which way hes gonna go. opening lurker and hoping your opponent doesnt guess properly if you're gonna attack or not is not a 'crazy rush' or a brilliant strategy. it is a coinflip. First of all, I don't see where BoxeR comes in, but maybe some of the context of this quote is missing. I'll just say that yes, Boxer didn't have the mechanics, but he was creative. However, creativity is somewhat relative. So what if F91 banked 3K/3K? This game is not all mechanics, sorry to break it to you. However, disputing his cleverness is a wrong road to go down. Like I said, creativity is relative to the situation. You expected standard builds it appears. He did something different - he [b]created something to play with your head. And you know what, he outwitted, outplayed and outlasted you in every sense of the 3 words. Basically, if a life lesson comes from this thread, it's show some god damn modesty. Admit that you lost, admit he played better than you, and move on with life, refocus. If a StarCraft lesson comes of it, take this quote with you. Expect the unexpected To the thread itself: First of all, quit the flaming, it really accomplishes nothing. Second, for everyone saying that what F91 did was NOT a good build, please give me some concrete evidence. My evidence? He just won a Best of 7 series verses a young man who is living, training and rostered with a pro-gaming team using said builds. He obviously hasn't gotten any better since moving to Korea. Pretty sure Rek never actually said "Get out of Korea". He entertained the notion once or twice, but the main goal of the O.P. was not "IdrA, leave Korea now." Finally, Rek, you are the man. Edited for that quote of 'Mastermind'

I can't believe people still don't realise this. F91 is not an "ALL in" player, he is a risk player. His style is put choice in your mind and make you make all the hard decisions. By trying to classify him as one type of player, you have already lost the battle.

The part idra came an posted here was a closing statement to every previous statement. The lag issue was him actually kicking the tournament host (mani) from the games and in rage saying "f91's all-ins don't work as well with you gone" ... which he apoligized for. Nobody but idra complained about lag of course.

Idra isn't some random TLer but a legitimate Korean progamer, (though he has yet to proove this with his games..) and thus being discussed positively/negatively is perfectly acceptable. Especially on the internet.. However, you, idra and others know each other irl and he's a regular member here so I found the post a tad too offending as a friend. An eye to eye, some might say but you are a lot more mature than him and your words were quite insulting from third person's pespective. And I fully agree that the guy needs to learn some manner and respect. More so than this however, needs to grow up mentally and learn to accept defeats and see where one's mistakes are so he can improve further. Furthermore, you remind me a lot of my old highschool matey whom had similar characteristics as you. If you ever find yourself down in sheepland for whatever reasons, I would very much like to treat you some cheap liquor :D
