Please stop fucking saying the guy was in SK. He was SK-Fan. I'm not kidding, I'm not mocking, he truely was registered as "SK-Fan" on their website. He never was part of ANY pro-team, ever, never, nowhere.

The funny thing is that it's impossible to find SK articles and videos about him back. Nothing, they deleted everything, even his aka on the website is gone... He's just sad (imho).

FD doesn't give 2 shits, they just want to have "Starcraft" on their site.

Definitely. With SC2 comming up, and everybody knows it will be the center of attention in the progamming world, this is just some publicity prep. Being able to say they have a french kid playing starcraft in Korea will certainly be a strong point for them when SC2 is out. And it's pretty cheap for them to set up I guess, since he was already there and all.
Maybe they didn't expect the hardcore SC fans to be so annoyed by this news, but I doubt they really care. The people who still play SC nowadays (or follow it as an e-sport) will be such a small part of the total SC2 players when the game is out (but perhaps they'll be the most serious players and most likely to play at a higher level, in which case FD will have lost their bet).

To Rekrul: Bad player go to korea for publicity stunt, player will fail horribly after getting demoralized every single game for most likely at least 1-2 years(if he stays that long) and will leave korea.

Not really accurate based on the facts available. Bad player is already in Korea/makes up reason to be in Korea and while there convinces bad multigaming team with no knowledge of how professional starcraft works to put him on their newly created starcraft roster. Likely receives a paltry sum from team and/or complimentary mouse pad and is doing this in order to secure a spot on their sc2 team in the future or is just completely delusional.

Ok.

You guys don't know him so I have to do it.

ToaD is known here as a "fanboy". Well, first of all his nickname was chosen to copy ToD indeed, as this guy has no personnality.

Then, ToaD decided to become the #1 fan of SK-Gaming. He went on the SK-Shop and bought all the gears from SK. Then he took pictures of him watching WC3 games online wearing all his SK shirts and playing on SK mousepads with SK mouse.

Then he decided he would tour with SK. He went to tournaments with them and got autographs of the Korean players. He even had a news on SK-Gaming for his commitment and a nice video of him meeting Lyn and Soju and asking for autographs (Koreans were like wtf Ok ?!!). After that very emotional phase, when he called himself SK.ToaD, he decided to change clothe and went to myMYM. He bought all the MYM gears and did the same their ! Yep, true.

He never was part of aAa, he never was in any pro-team.

Now it seems that he's in Korea, I'm just amazed by this guy, seriously.

That is spot on correct really. He was a HUGE SK fanboy and is in love with the Korean culture. He would seriously just write 1 or 2 Korean phrases on news articles or forum threads to make himself look cool. And I love how Frag Dominant is picking this guy up and actually supporting him. All FD cares about is getting more sponsors, which they don't deserve at all, especially AMD and ATI.

Here's what I posted:
" LOL, is this some kind of joke? Seriously with an organization like Frag Dominant I expected a lot more. This really shows complete and utter ignorance by the management. Either that, or this Toad guy has completely fooled you. - First off, Toad is a really terrible player. - Secondly, you can't just go to Korea and start "training with other professionals". Korean pro-teams are closed houses where only other pro gamers and practice partners can play. There's no way a complete no name player will get the chance to practice with REAL pro gamers. - Thirdly, what "2009 pro circuit"? There is no such thing. The only professional leagues in Korea are OSL, MSL, GOM events, and other special invitational events along with Pro League. These events aren't open to random no names. This seemed like too much of a joke to be true when I heard about it, but then I actually saw this news and saw that it was serious. I'm shocked that such a professional organization wouldn't actually do any research into the Starcraft community to see the truth when considering investing in this game. There are thousands of other players more deserving than this Toad. There is an entire non Korean Starcraft community out there that is well established with leagues and major tournaments. Of those, only a handful of players are even good enough to compete with Koreans, only three active players (IdrA, NonY, and Draco) have been in Korea as real pro gamers, and only one (IdrA) is still there. This is a total joke and I just lost any respect I had for this organization, and I'm sure I speak for hundreds of other real Starcraft fans out there when I say this is a complete travesty. I just registered here to post my disgust. Thanks for listening."

Team Liquid please join me in totally trashing these idiots

You should post that in their mIRC channel since this is an old article and it's not on the front page.

I'll be laughing so hard when he

1) Fails.

or

2) Somehow succeeds.

So, what if this IS a crazy experiment to CREATE a progamer from the ground up?

Haha.

I doubt the guy himself is thinking about becoming a Pro-Gamer, more like he saw the chance and abused them so he could get himself a free trip to Korea.

edit: and I doubt anyones going to see those comments, the news is really old (for them..) so nobody probably reads those.
