You seem like bunch of envy kids that wish this poor guy the worst just because he's a noob and got an opportunity that you've never received in your long wasteful starcraft career.

You sacrificed your life, friends, and other things to this game and barely got anything back from it. This guy hasn't devote his life to starcraft and still succeeded in certain degree that makes all of you jealous. At some point I can surely understand your grief, haha.

I guess we can all agree that FD didn't act very smart. But at least they honestly admitted that they had no experience with Starcraft and made an ill-informed decision. Not every company would do that. I think with such poor management, FD's foray into Starcraft wouldn't have had any success and if they ever got a team together, it wouldn't last long. It's probably for the better that they backed out and don't do any further damage to their finances and reputation.

still sad that we approached this for a very negative point of view, anybody trying to put some money into the sc scene is alright with me, even if they dont have the time to learn much about the scene. im disappointed artosis didnt interview/contact/get a statement from them before going live to the entire community (with power comes responsibility)

I dont think this kid can get C+ in 1 year if hes at D+ lvl, even with progamer training....

Look at IdrA now, he still has many problems , and he was kinda good when he first went over there... So this is like.. wasting his time in Korea. He should stick with the university and just study the 12 hours he would have played BW in

It's not about that. It's about disrespecting our community. I'm not pissed at Toad, no more than I am pissed at any ICCup abuser out there. He did what is expected of any abuser, took whatever opportunity given to him. I'm pissed at FD, being a large serious company, for disrespecting the entire SC community.

What baffles me is how they called Toad a progamer. I'm just allergic to multigaming teams in general reffering to their sc squads as "progamers" as it shows little knowledge of how the sc scene functions, and little interest in it. It is disrespectful to the sc scene. However calling Toad a sc progamer is disrespectful to all esports all over the world, no matter what system or what scene. He is a noob. You can't make a noob a pro by financing him, no matter what game he's playing. And trying a stunt like that in sc is rediculous, given the amount of effort and formalities you have to go throw to be able to call yourself a pro! Many multigaming teams have disregarded this and that is disrespectful. FD did the same, but TEN times worse.

Their move also shows little knowledge about the sc scene. There is, afaik, no other community that is so elitistic and so proud (hell I'm proud to be a part of it), and stand so tall with minimum financing and minium coverage (outside the scene). They believed that throwing some money and having a laugh would buy them cheap advertising. They didn't even bother researching their intended target group If they had, they would have found out that the sc community would lash out at them fully and ridicule them completely for something like this. And then going on like "hey at least we tried why are you so madzor?" Had you even bothered lookin in to the sc scene you would understand the outrage.

That they are a large company, somewhat reputable from what I understand in other esports (correct me if I'm wrong), makes this all so much worse. They showed other games respect and put effort in to us. But when they turned to sc, they gave shit about it. Sorry guys, this is the sc community's answer to such behavior. We're not pissed that a guy who didn't deserve it got a chance, hell it's happened before and we could even be happy for him, we're pissed because you insulted the entire sc community! We're pissed that you shamed us!

And then their response, where they put the blame on TL.net? Seriously, FD. Up until that moment they could have said "okay sorry, we made a mistake". But instead they decided to blame one of the most powerful communities in the sc world. Another wise ass move.

Harassing toad's facebook and email is of course wrong. And I would even have condemned it had he just been a random guy who got a really random weird chance. Everyone would have jumped at it. But Toad abused ICCup. Imo he is as bad as any maphacker for that. Don't like that people harass him, but wth, let him suffer.

Yeah FD did totally the right thing, respect to them.
If anything I hope they realise just how great a support there is for foreigners in Korea.
If they do decide to recruit a decent player this time, they'll discover just how good the SC scene is.
