Seems to me all of the young bloods who are newer to the scene, who don't even know of NookS, NerO, Saddles, JulloPud, are questioning him if he is even good at starcraft. There was a debate maybe a year ago, about if a top tier foreigner could beat a progamer from the 2001-2002 ages. And it was eventually decided that the answer is no, the skill level hasn't changed that much, there's just a lot more people who have been able to get onto that amazing level. As much as people want to say, Starcraft really hasn't changed that much. There was still 2 factory pushes, there was fast expansions, the game really hasn't changed much. Sure there is a vast amount of new players, newer pros, but that doesn't mean that the top tier players from a few years earlier haven't just been surpassed insanely. They just lose a lot of interest. In the time of Saddles and NerO, they were considered some of the top players in the United States. Everyone who competed competitively, even in 2005 knew of these players. During the time of Saddles, the top Canadian player was Fayth, and Testie was some UsEast hacker. I'm guessing this is when Saddles left the scene. If he left at that time, don't go jump on a bandwagon saying he is a fool, just because Testie was a great player a year or two ago. I remember hearing stories of a preliminary match in 2004 when Testie showed up to WCG LAN and had his keyboard unplugged from a computer and just spammed his hotkeys while waiting for a game. He ended up winning the match, and everyone was surprised because he was a known hacker. Much like Dino beating iNControl this year in WCG Regionals. Do I think Saddles is a great player? I know he used to, if he practiced a lot and got back into his old condition, I believe he could reclaim being one of the best in the United States within a month. your memory differs from mine. Saddles was never known outside of North America, and there were plenty of North American players back then who were better than saddles. Saddles was as much a 'top player in USA' as i was a top player in Canada. (actually, i'm gonna let my own ego get in the way here and say i was closer to being a top player in Canada. ![]() And Testie was always better than Fayth. So was Veg, Xiaozi, hell even Vasmos could have been better than Fayth! Back in 2004 the Canadian players to go to WCG grand finals were Testie, Veg, and Grrr.... Of all the players in the tournament, Testie was the only player to take a game off of a korean (outside of the group stage). In 2004, Testie had proved he was a good offline player, if not top 5 foreigners. Saddles must have left the scene before then, or has a memory as distorted as yours. ![]() edit - reminiscing.... what happened to Pride! anyone know how he's doing?

Unlike you i dont have losing records against more then 1 or 2 on that list. you considered a maximum of 3 of these players to be very good? hmm... Let's take a look at these players: Testie: consistently best player in Canada from 2003-2008 Draco: top 3 in Poland since 2004 Froz: #1 USA for 4 years? Infinity: top 3 in Germany for 4 years? (could be debatable, Germany had lots of fantastic players) Timothy: top 5 in Canada consistently since 2004. Maybe even top 3 Fisheye: Germany's most consistent player (could be argued between mondi/fisheye) Legionnaire: One of the 4? foreigners to go to korea and play professionally for several years. Zealotito: Spains #1 player for 2-3 years. Eriador: #1 in Norway since 2003 top 3 in Norway since always. Midian: UK's best player since 2002 Rekrul: Top 3 USA since 2003 Wisdom: Top 3 USA from 2001-2003 (debatable) HovZ: Ok. Sadist: Ok. Nyoken: Ok. Day: top 3 USA since 2003 Fayth: top 3 in Canada during 2005 (and maybe 2006?) Corbalt: The highest rated foreigner on Game-i (i think?) Pride: Top 5 in Canada for 2-4 years. White-Ra: Top 3 in Ukraine for 4 years. Hellghost: #1 in Brazil for 4 years. Dealer, you were a decent player, but stop talking out of your ass. Most of these players were amazing (for foreigners). The exceptions would be the USA players he mentions - but would that really be a surprise being that he's American? (and to be fair, HovZ's TvP was really good. Sadist's TvT was one of the best outside of korea at one point. Nyoken's TvZ was good.) Wouldn't you list Jesse, Kenka, Delicato, etc, among 'top players' in sweden?
