If this thread turns into a USPMT 2.0, we will not hesitate to shut it down. Do not even bother posting if all you're going to do is shit on the Democratic candidates while adding nothing of value.
Rules: - Don't post meaningless one-liners. - Don't turn this into a X doesn't stand a chance against Trump debate. - Sources MUST have a supporting comment that summarizes the source beforehand. - Do NOT turn this thread into a Republicans vs. Democrats shit-storm.
This thread will be heavily moderated. Expect the same kind of strictness as the USPMT. |
Neither represents their top concerns particularly well. If the option is between losing all leverage by "voting blue no matter who" and not doing that... don't be surprised when a lot of people think the former path is the better long term solution.

I think that the needless rudeness and aggression by Biden supporters really puts Bernie supporters off of him. It really just rubs us the wrong way.

Debate is tonight. Going to be interesting to see how Biden holds up and how well Bernie can make his case amid the context of global pandemic and the US's utter failure to address it appropriately.

Yeah, this is Sanders's last stand.

I guess this is candidate bashing so I break the rules but from a foreign perspective, Biden is another sketch made in usa politics, he looks like Bush's alter ego but from the democrat party, regardless of their political inclinaison, french newspapers are already commenting on Biden's clumsiness. It's really crazy to see him in position to win. That said, considering that my drunkard mayor is reelected, I shouldn't judge too harshly.

Biden got caught lying about his position on cutting social security. Moderators failing miserably.

I kind of like that the moderators are staying completely out of it tbh.
From 8:00-8:40, Biden and Sanders were coming across as both pretty equal in the debate. Over the past 7 minutes, Sanders has been calling out Biden hard for old quotes and positions that Biden used to have, and Biden is falling apart pretty hard (re: Super PACs and Social Security topics).
Edit: Moderators finally jump in, but only to try to lie about Sanders instead of holding Biden accountable. Sanders shut that shit down fast, happily.

Though it's probably too late to stop him, I'm not at all following Biden's line of logic for this debate. Frankly just kind of sounds like he's talking around in circles without a clear direction.

Yo Biden just formally announced that his runningmate will be a woman. First woman VP, potentially. We predicted that would happen, but that's a pretty big reveal. That's likely to be the #1 headline from this debate, unless something else happens in the next 50 minutes.

Man Biden comes across as so arrogant and angry. Really dislike him.

Reminds me of McCain and Palin. Kinda shameless imo. Feel like him outright lying about his support for cutting social security would be the headline in a decent society.

Saying that everything is on the table is not the same as being in favor of cutting social security. Bernie is being extremely dishonest on that and you’re repeating his nonsense.

Shameless... possibly. But remember: As long as Biden doesn't tank tonight's debate compared to Sanders, he's got this primary pretty much tied up. It's a pretty solid strategic move for distracting from him messing up the SS and Super-PAC responses, and it's also something a lot of women are really, really interested in hearing, especially since it's going to be yet another showdown between 2 (3 including Trump) old, white men.
Follow-up: Sanders was directly asked by the moderator whether or not he would commit to a female runningmate. He said something along the lines of "I'm strongly considering it; in all likelihood probably yes", which I didn't interpret as an absolute Yes based on his inflection, but I imagine this will get clarified in the future.

It serves Bernie's argument very well to be able to draw a parallel between the environment and the coronavirus. We're seeing the effects of not responding to the virus quickly enough, and if we don't get our act straight when it comes to an even bigger problem, then it will overwhelm us all.

I love how Sanders is just standing with an open mouth at Biden's allegations that Sanders is 'praising china' for stating that they have in fact accomplished significant gains combating extreme poverty.
This line of attack against Sanders is fucking dumb, though. I guess it might play with segments of the population and even segments of the democratic voter base, but it doesn't make it any less stupid.

Biden is such a shithead. Bernie literally calls them authoritarian dictatorships two minutes ago, and is correct about UAE and Saudi's too, yet Biden acts like he didn't say that and says 'words matter, these are dictatorships'.
Bernie needs to look more confident on stage though. He's bad at hiding frustration, and while his frustration is justified imo, it's just not a good look.
