Äiti "360.nessu" Isintytär (Online) @ 2007-04-15 19:37:58 Reply #17 I dont like the "security" which Rekrul is enjoying in Tl.net he should be banned like rest who flame others.... Tl.net is just a bunch of admin kids who lick each others asses. and thats a fact. roflmao what a jack~ and this one On the subject of tl.net... there's a reason many posters choose gosugamers over teamliquid... apparently, any time an "old school poster" posts something you're supposed to kick their ass and never disagree with them, or the whole board flames you. Look, I don't want to change that... it's their shit right, I'm just explaining why I and alot of people do not post there. If you want to read a thread that has 4 people offering idiotic opinions and everyone aggreeing with them then that's cool but that's not for me. Gosu gamer's has a much more responsible admin staff and much better coverage of news and better quality posts in general. what the hell?

It is a place anyone can go prove themselves too. I wish there were more WCG-like events. I always knew Korean Pro-gamers were way above the rest, but at Blizzcon I saw it with my own eyes. They did not just win, they were there for the show, they toyed with the foreigners. I saw how the Korean pro-gamers literally toyed with Testie and company. I am not saying I can read minds but almost when it comes to faces, hopes and disappointments. I saw it too in Mondy\\\'s and Testie\\\'s faces - they knew too that they had been toyed with. It was rather disheartening. Anyway this thread is depressing for the average StarCraft fan, i.e the majority, me included, for whom the likes of Testie, Draco and Mondy are highly skilled gamers from a relative perspective. Foreingners do lag way behind the pro-gamers and many top amateur Koreans. We do have some excuses at this stage. Foreigners collectively only from about 30% of total StarCraft players and less than 5% of the competitive playing field (in absolute numbers). Learning StarCraft is augmented tremendously by LAN environment and having competition around you. Numbers do matter., which is why Russia will always have an excess of top Chess players for example - Russia has around 1 million competitive Chess players. Foreigners are for the most part all spread out across the world, each one pretty isolated, and some good players for years only had themselves and their home computers before they actually got to see other skilled players game live or do some LAN practice. China might make the difference one day but they are so limited with their connectivity and government we might just never know. These are all good points, however, sometimes foreigners are able to pull out wins against the right koreans. Look at Testie and Android's domination of Silent Control as an example. So for me, that's where the novelty of WCGs comes in. Koreans are better and would win the vast majority of the time, but sometimes they only get one game, or a short series. The fact is, anyone can lose in so few games. Thus, the excitement of watching Oov play against Lamer. Hell can always freeze over and I'll be there watching, yelling HOLYSHIT when it happens. WCGs rules.

So I'm sure he is the best source to tell us the skill difference between Korea and the rest. Testie defiantly changed, you people just need to leave your personal bias's and grudges behind. He is an amazing guy. NOONE else with his high status in the foreign scene still plays ums and contributes to the lower levels of players like he does. He's like fucking Tupac. I have become great friends with him. You guys putting him down, really have no idea who he is. Anyways, you have to have some kind of pride in your gaming skills. I like SEn and all but when he's always saying, "well i was lucky, or I sucked" It gets on my nerves more then when a player says he has a good shot to win, or he will crush his foes with an IRON FIST. I like that shit. I don't like to hear pussy, hide in the shade comments. Anyways, get to really know people before you go all out spreading your judgments around.

In the grand scheme of things, foreigners do suck a lot compared to Koreans. Still I don't think the different communities (if I may call it this way) are to be compared simply because of the difference in environment. I think that's what rekrul's pointing out anyway, people may be good in the non-korean standards and win non-korean tournaments and it's all fun and we can cheer on our favourites, but compared to Koreans we're all nothing and we should stop making topics on: 'what if x or y would go to Korea, could he succeed?' because simply, this is a vaunted idea because we're lightyears behind the Korean general skill level. The screenshots from Artosis against Smuft are hilarious. I always thought artosis was pretty humble back in the day when I still played and I have no idea why he suddenly thinks he's awesome. Must be the influence from his [media] buddies. I've always kinda liked Idra on this forum because he seems like an intelligent chap, but I guess he's a sore loser too. Everyone can be a sore loser but to take it out on the guy who just beat you is soo pathetic. No comment really about Skew though, when ToT played Media last time for fragbet league or something, I was on b.net to obs a few games. While mondi was politely asking where some players where or whatever (I don't really recall what he asked), skew went off on him for no reason with some derogatory comments. Now I always thought he was a douchebag but that totally blew my mind. How can anyone who plays this game on a certain skill level still be that abrasive? I thought the game had matured enough so that we wouldn't have to hear garbage like 'STFU KID.' anymore. I mean Testie used to be a big pain in the ass too but he's changed so much, some people just can't get over the fact that he also got a lot more mature. Oh and I can say for a fact that almost anyone who was decent at BW (in the non-korean way ) was/is an attention whore simply because it is feeded to them via newsposts and praises, or they attract it to themselves by making topics like these. I also admit that I'm a huge attention whore. Whoever was any good at broodwar must've googled his name at least once to see how many hits it got. I know I have.

Yes, I do BM people after I lose, but I'm still friends with almost every single person I've BM'd in a game, so kiss my ass. I'll do what I want and you don't have to discuss it just because Testie presents the opportunity.
