It’s been PBU ban Battle for Azeroth recently, wow.
The pace of the updates is good for my casual gameplay. We just finished Heroic Uldir. This was made possible with a few top players in the mix counterbalancing the usual friends and family players that can’t perform to a heroic level (let alone mythic). We’re just going to do a clear day for 2hrs once a week to get people missing pieces until the new raid. I’m probably going to stop the once a week M10. Pugging them as a fury warrior that hasn’t grinded out a good raiderio score takes quite a long time. I’m going to enjoy relaxing on alts.

Nah he has a point. At the end of legion 15s were such a walk in the park that people did them on 3,4,5 alts every week just for the chest. Right now even low keys are a slugfest and id reckon most people dont bother doing them on alts. Im one such case, had 7 max level chars mid legion and would do 15s on at least 3 every week. Never bothered to do more than my main in bfa before i quit. But thats because bfa is trash lul.

It's not just about the amount of relative players, there is also the total. It's a ceiling on the amount of people actually being engaged in endgame stuff since it's not that hard to register your main on a RIO leaderboard once in a window that large (3-8 months?).
This is not just characters doing max level keys for loot, it's all of the guys getting registered who ran like a level 2 key before there were 500 entries on the board for that server and dungeon which is a good portion of the week at the start.
If you're expecting a ton of alts on like the Legion last season number then your expected unique playercount would be a lot less than the character number

Yeah same with my guild. We have had multiple sub 10% wipes in p3 so a kill in the next few nights is probably going to happen with those nerfs.

Which realm do you guys recommend for a total beginner? Lots of players or few?

This is pretty standard for all tiers.
If people havent got CE by now they wont get it before patch without nefs. The semi serious or skilled casual guilds will have well past got their CE at this point. It still allows the satisfaction for the remaining guilds to claim they take content when its relevant. Although that sort of statement means different things to different people.

Sue but depends on how you look at it. Therr will be a flood of CEs and its possible guilds not even half as close as yours might bust through it even before you. That might be a bitter pill for some people
"oh we for sure wouldve got it pre nerf." Some dont care some do.. but the range of guilds that like it is far larger so i think its a good thing

Lots since you can't reasonably transfer later - go to www.wowprogress.com , find the realm list, sort by horde population and pick one of the highest ones for your chosen sever type and region.
Transferring 3 characters from alliance on some dead realm to horde somewhere good costs literally 150 euro so you kinda have to be on the right server and faction from day 1.

Don't make the mistakes of going to " Recommended servers".
Those are usually dead and it's a trap by Blizzard trying to populate them. Choose a very popular one, check wowprogress to see if the server you chosoe has a decent number of highly progressed guilds ( even if you do'nt plan on doing that ). It's always better to play on big servers.

Mostly agree with that although I should point out that a lot of the large servers have really bad economies, so if you plan on making money down the road try to find one that doesn't have a completely terrible market. Might not matter now, but once you are 120 and need some cash it might.
So basically what I'm saying is don't join me on Illidan unless you have other means of making money
