You can easily double that in ~855 gear depending on the speed of the tank pulls and the ability of the other DPS players. Mages, monks and hunters can also reach nearly as high but many others cannot compete well with these four classes for total damage in a dungeon blitz (druids, priests)

I get that feeling of hating class/spec and being unable to perform with it, i have been there a few times before. IMO find a spec that you love and go all-in with it for the expansion, who knows what will happen in 8.0! For me that was hunter in WOD after the new DK didn't stick and DH in Legion after they "ruined" hunters. I like to have a main but it is what it is
I'd be interested in what gear they're using. TBH, I feel like perfect rotation with my gear would barely break 200k because 2 of my relics are blue (815, 805) and I'm using straight mastery gear (Demo's worst stat).
The worst part IMO is that Soulburn: Haunt was the most compelling gameplay Affliction ever had and they threw it away for this bullshit.
It's not worth jumping specs when you don't have weapon, trinkets, stat prio or practice for it. If you fixed all of those things then you could probably pull 25-30% more damage now and 40-45% more post-buff without passing i850
if you hate the class, though, that's not going to get you far

relics are a huge thing. you can actually watch your dps jump 10's of thousands with better relics
like before my 3rd slot i went from like 110 with arms to like 170(before discovering FR i mean)
Sad part is that playing FR arms is going to be boring as fuck after the patch. It's like blizzard doesn't understand that you don't neccessarily need to completely trash the gameplay to nerf a class.

I have a feeling protwars are going to be in the same bucket.

I think it is the same for all the big online games. They are probably never not DDOSed. So they have to learn to deal with it.
Has anyone had trouble with retrieving item information(in red text) on several items? I can't drink or hover over appropriate keystones, its really annoying. Supposedly 1 of my addons is causing it but I am only using Weakauras and DBM right now.

Logging out for a while fixed it when I had the issue.
Its usually caused by severe lag, causing the client and server to lose sync.
im forced to switch to makarel which is less mana/second im pretty sure altho I should just join a bg for a table I guess. Protip for all you mythic+ers, if the healer is drinking you should eat speeds up the process so I dont have to top you off.

Yep. It's like if you like pushing buttons very often, you are in for a switch on your playstyle.

Would be even more cool if people used health pots since I have to use mana pots al the time. But oh well people are not even using their health stones in my raid.
Also, I wonder if that 1 food that heals you super fast outside of combat works(it works in the Broken isles right?) and whether that is worth it compared to the dps food buff(probably not).

Meh, funnier than fury for sure, atleast for me.
For example there is a lot more nuance than people give it credit for.

40ilvl on weapon was flat ~+10% dmg for me, huge but they're nowhere near that big

Don't be rude with me, I wanted to ask something. I only played Vanilla wow and stopped when playing required me at least 4+hours (looking for a party to raid Stratholme I think? or similar stuff).
What has changed in the game now? Many years have passed, so items monsters etc. for sure, but is it still the same thing? If I were to log in tomorrow, would I still recognize gameplay elements or not? I'd like a short summary, I'm so curious

At its very core the gameplay is still the same. Classes are a bit more involved but not intimidatingly so. Its a lot more casual friendly. The grinds tend to be shorter, there is matchmaking for dungeons and raids (at reduced difficulty) so you dont spend 2 hours standing in IF/OG looking for a group. You just queue up and do something else while waiting.
If you want to play for 1-2 hours here and there you definitely can.
