i believe that someone said something about calm before the storm btw this was a pretty fun game in an insanely good finals, very few of those in GSL but this was easily one of the best if not the best, at least in games, if not in story

You know what, I didn't watch korean starcraft at the time and missed it. I repeatedly saw that it was the best finals of all time and kinda dismissed it, because I thought it was just nostalgia talking and the games must be quite uninteresting by modern standards.

After reading jjakji's article, I watched game 4.

Then I watched game 1.

Then I watched the series.

I did not regret any second of it !!!

Oh yeah!! This was the first (or second) GSL finals that I saw and I was hooked!!!

(and of course, I'm "stuck" watching now too)

the first full GSL i really paid close attention to was Mvp beating Squirtle....though i went back and found out about all the shit in GSL that happened prior (MC Nestea and Mvp killing everyone, HuK doing well, jjakji v leenock, polt v mma, MKP v Mvp Nestea v Foxer etc)

Actually now that it's mentioned I do think I saw Mvp vs Squirtle (that was open season 3 right?) I still think I liked jjakji leenock because of the TvZ

Nah, Mvp vs Squirtle is 2012 season 2.

correct is was
DRG v Genius
Mvp v Squirtle
Seed v MC
Life v Mvp
....sniper v hyun....

sorry, I was talking about the "open" seasons (2011?)
open season 3 was MC vs rain (that was my first GSL season)

oh THOSE open seasons. Yes 3 was MC v RAin Fruitdealer and Nestea took the first 2 Mvp took the fourth i think (San's worst tournament) and MC again in 5 (one of San's best tournaments)

Fruitdealer won season one not Nestea

"Fruitdealer and Nestea took the first 2" where in that statement does it say that i say nestea took the first not fruitdealer?
temp....at times i feel like you are there just to troll me

Jinro's performances were fantastic but came at a time the game was being figured out. NaNiwa's runs are, if you ask me, the most amazing things ever done by a foreigner in KR. Two ro8 in a row with impressive confidence against extremely strong opponents. He could really have won a GSL at that time. Sadly with the way WCS works now there is very little hope a foreigner does well in WCS KR anymore (Scarlett if WCS KR awards a lot more points maybe ?).

HuK could have gone farther...but he joined EG
Steph could have won easy..but he went to late + he joined EG
Scarlett can because she hasnt joined EG yet

the first full GSL i really paid close attention to was Mvp beating Squirtle....though i went back and found out about all the shit in GSL that happened prior (MC Nestea and Mvp killing everyone, HuK doing well, jjakji v leenock, polt v mma, MKP v Mvp Nestea v Foxer etc)

"Fruitdealer and Nestea took the first 2" where in that statement does it say that i say nestea took the first not fruitdealer?
temp....at times i feel like you are there just to troll me

scientist are still trying to figure out how 2 Z won in that state of the game

The game was actually Zerg favored and nobody knew how?

actually BL Infestor wasnt really a thing...Terran was terrifyingly broken back then (gomtvt)...MARAUDER IS BULLSHIT...sorry this is 2014 WIDOW MINES ARE BULLSHIT.....

Weren't the open seasons 2010?

jinro, artosis, idra, torch

Before my time

Jinro was a fantastic TL Terran who made semis of GSL TWICE no one else has made it to semis even once, HuK and NaNiwa were close though...

Idra was EG zerg from BW (terran at the time though) was really good..and then he became shit, and BM'd his way to retirement

Artosis was the father of the artosis pylon, wrecked in WCG 2005, but tried his luck in SC2 only to reallize he was a better caster than player...

Torch I dont remember....

HuK could have gone farther...but he joined EG
Steph could have won easy..but he went to late + he joined EG
Scarlett could because she hasnt joined EG yet

your EG passion is burning
i would define my style between a mix of ByuN, Maru and MKP

Stephano could certainly have gone far, but "won easy" ? His different tries at a GSL run all showed he was quite prone to getting killed by someone who did his homework (vs Flying, vs Bogus). I'm not sure he would have done that well in those preparation-heavy tournaments compared to someone like NaNiwa who was a build order freak

meh it was fine...i just went marine medic/mass tank is almost every level and wrecked hardcore

most brutal champs conisder hardest mission to be Welcome to the Jungle, but if you use marine medic, its one of the easiest levels in the game, i find the Path of Destruction? level the hardest (wraith level)..all in and the tank mission are really tough as well...

steph went once and was put in the hardest ro32 group ever (i think only Creator DRG Mvp was as hard) DongRaeGu, Hack, INnoVation, Stephano...can you blame him for going 2-4 vs inno? that means he as good as soO...not that bad

Is it the Odin level ? The only mission I found REALLY tough was the one with the Odin. Seems like you can trivialize it with good choice of units, but I never seemed to have the units needed to make this mission a piece of cake.
