All I want is good casters, regardless of gender. The casters with a real passion for the game will navigate beyond the flames and difficulties and make a name for themselves.

The issue isn't that we don't have 50/50, it's that women may not be able to access caster positions. "Beyond the flames and difficulties" : These are waaay bigger for women than for men. The aim is that this difference go.

Women also find it considerably easier to get positions in eSports thanks to their gender, including even becoming "professionals" despite being relatively bad. Let's not pretend this is a one way street. And, from the Dota community, Sheever gets no more shit than someone like Lumi. I don't really see anything that shows women in the public eye of eSports get more flames than men.

Personally, I think Zombiegrub is pretty good. She doesn't have a voice that will attract a bunch of casuals like Totalbiscuit does, but she knows a lot about the game and all of the players, which sadly is something most casters lack.

Yes, she wasn't a GSL level caster, but the shitstorm she received was insane, much worse than Moletrap, who wasn't liked by any more people than her, but he didn't pose for the playboy (or some similar magazine). Having Seltzer as a hostess is already incredible, she must have one of the thickest skins in all of ESPORTS. I doubt another woman will want to be a caster in this community. Yeah, at first I didn't pay attention to the Kelly hate because I genuinely thought she was an awful caster and ruined my enjoyment of the GSL, and if the anger caused her to quit and give us better casters, well that was justified. But there just hasn't been any level of vitriol toward the bad male casters, some of whom, like Moletrap/SNM, are even worse than kelly was. And what anger there is toward the guys, is to do with casting ability, not blanket sexist statements and personal attacks like how it was with Kelly. I do think GomTV should try to get another woman casting in English. I wish Seltzer would cast; she's very funny, and imagining her with the Wolfdor team would be a really entertaining cast. Whenever I listen to the Korean trio cast in the past, they would just sound so much more lively.

Besides, a female caster telling me that "a timing attack could happen sometime between 10-20 minutes!" isn't any more depressing than Apollo/Kaelaris telling me the same.
