If somebody thinks he shouldn't have gone in, then I assume you'd also agree schools all over the country might as well save money and fire their security officers since all it takes to make them useless is to start shooting. Sure if the sole purpose of the lightly armed security officers is to take down heavily armed gun men with assault rifles then yeah, it sounds like a terrible waste of funds. And while the idea of having armed police at a school seems alien to me, I can imagine them serving a purpose in situations that don't involve suicidal maniacs with AR-15s.

Doesn't seem like he was suicidal. He had plenty of opportunity to kill himself or suicide by cop and chose neither.

And how often to rich black people get the shit kicked out of them by cops or shot by cops and have the cops get away? I've yet to hear about a rapper or sportsball player getting their ass kicked and tossed in jail or shot a few times, it seems to only be poor black people that it happens to.

So you are telling me that black folks with power cause police to behave themselves because they have enough power to make the cop lose their job? And even then, professor is Harvard that got arrested for trying to get into his own house. He was a bit of a grump about it, but the local police department has always had a chip on its shoulder for these black Harvard professors not sufficiently respecting police in the way the police like.

In terms of being unfairly targeted by cops and unable to contest any mistreatment it's worst for black poor & bad for poor white, middle class are usually off fine, and it's probably pretty tolerable for black rich (I dunno, money/fame will at least grant you resources to retaliate). Rich white people can practically be in the mafia and be elected president or help incite global jihad and be considered a good presidential candidate. That's broadly what we're working with here. In many cases you can probably ignore skin color and just look at the economic situation in order to reach the same conclusion (worst & bad for poor, middle class fine, rich above the law), but the influence of toxic cop culture with regards to white supremacy can't be underestimated or ignored. It needs to be included when raising criticism against law enforcement.

A former top adviser to Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign indicted by the special counsel was expected to plead guilty as soon as Friday afternoon, according to two people familiar with his plea agreement, a move that signals he is cooperating with the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. The adviser, Rick Gates, is a longtime political consultant who once served as Mr. Trump’s deputy campaign chairman. The plea deal could be a significant development in the investigation — a sign that Mr. Gates plans to offer incriminating information against his longtime associate and the former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, or other members of the Trump campaign in exchange for a lighter punishment. www.msn.com

Trump and the Florida governor both proposing to unilaterally raise the minimum age. Weren’t they saying before that we should only enforce the existing laws? This media campaign by the teens whose school got shot up by a kid with a military grade weapon is just not something they can argue with. The insanity of people having wide access to those guns is just too apparent. Words are cheap. Warn me when they actually do something. Thoughts and prayers and all that.

If there's any legislation I expect it to be something that will never pass. Something like "ban bump stocks, increase age of ownership, and spend a ridiculous amount of money arming teachers/hiring guards." Then they can blame Democrats for not going along with it.

I don't doubt that poor black people have it worse than poor white people, but middle class and up seems mostly fine. Assuming they dress in a way that she's their middle class. I doubt cops would treat a black or white person very well if they have their pants sagging to their knees and wearing a shirt big enough to be a dress.
