Obama was boring except for the benghazi and gun running thing
Now, that's missing quite a few things starting from the NSA scandal, renewal of the patriot act, drone abuse etc. I really, really like Obama, but lets call the cattle (kettle?) black.

No way McCain doesn't pass this. He doesn't give a rat's ass about healthcare.

I'll give you Patriot Act simply because he didn't scale it back as far as he could have. NSA scandal? Refresh my memory please?

This is because (obviously) they're the ones that didn't expand Medicaid. No way McCain doesn't pass this. He doesn't give a rat's ass about healthcare. That's what you get for tribalism (not you personally). I'm republican, he's republican - he's a dickhead and doesn't work for the/his people, but he still is a republican, so i elect him again. The entire system in the US would work considerably better and considerably more in favour of the majority (a real majority, not one like trump got elected with) of the people if you'd fricking punish your politicians by simply not voting for them. Sadly, realistically, that's not even an option in the US.

Mass surveillance on americans and people like Angela Merkel? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_on_mass_surveillance edit: In regards to drone abuse, drones are attacking in sovereign countries without mandate. There's no official (known) guideline for when a drone strike is appropriate. Being a "male around a certain height" can make you a drone target. And yes, that was confirmed by the white house. Imagine chinese drones targeting people who constantly make shit up like "global warming chinese hoax", and then ask yourself how the US would react. Hard to believe, tho, that after all this the Senate are going to pass literally the worst and most destructive version of their bill.

None did. Because Bannon's stupid trial balloons have always been fake and remain fake. Every last phony populist trial balloon Bannon puts out there are DOA under Paul Ryan and under broader Conservative thinking. His phony populist plays are a way to allow Greens to continue lying to themselves about the nature of Republicans. The 'both sides' dupes fall for this crap and use it as an excuse to say that DJT isn't that bad. This play works because Greens and both-siders employ selective skepticism whereby they instantly trust populist trial balloons by known conmen like Bannon/DJT but somehow discount the very existence of the Democratic party platform / HRC/Obama Platforms and the websites listing their known features. You are totally missing the point on what is going at the White House and the GOP. There is nothing fake about Bannon's populism. The policies that he floats aren't trial balloons. They are things that he wants to see enacted. He is not a conservative republican. Paul Ryan and the rest of establishment, conservative GOP officials are Bannon's chief obstacles. Did you miss Bannon's quote where he called Paul Ryan something along the lines of a "dickless motherfucker grown in a petri dish at the Heritage Foundation?" Every word in that insult carries quite a bit of meaning that belies exactly what the nature of the conflict on the Right is. Then where is he on the very current Healthcare debate? None of these trial balloons make it into policy debates, let alone laws. Bannon is a smart enough guy to argue policy (unlike DJT who has no idea what is going on). Bannon could be out there pushing these ideas. FOX would have him on at any time of day, as would CNN or MSNBC. The balloons never get past single tweet level of depth. Bannon is a behind the scenes guy. He is not trying to be the public face of anything. And it is unclear how much influence he is wielding presently anyway. But none of that has anything to do with his political ideology.

I'd rather drones than my fellow servicemen/women have to go over there and deal with it. But that's my bias. NSA, I'll give you that.

I don't think it's really the worst in a "consequences for the country" way, that goes to repeal and delay or the House version of the bill (which did all these bad things and more). This is bad in that it was drafted and unveiled two hours before it was voted on and was specifically called trash by three of the people voting for it, though.

Nah, it's nowhere near as bad as the BCRA or original house bills were. Those medicaid cuts + tax cuts for the wealthy were insane proposals by almost any measure. This bill has moved massively to the left, and it's ironic that it's conservatives killing the conservative part of the AHCA (the individual mandate)
