I do agree though that Bannon/Jones and the likes are a little bit on the crazy side even for the tea party. They aren't even part of the tea party. They represent a different branch of right wing politics.

Guess it's okay with some people tho, has "freedom" in the title.

The policies that he floats aren't trial balloons. They are things that he wants to see enacted. He is not a conservative republican. Paul Ryan and the rest of establishment, conservative GOP officials are Bannon's chief obstacles. Did you miss Bannon's quote where he called Paul Ryan something along the lines of a "dickless motherfucker grown in a petri dish at the Heritage Foundation?" Every word in that insult carries quite a bit of meaning that belies exactly what the nature of the conflict on the Right is. Then where is he on the very current Healthcare debate? None of these trial balloons make it into policy debates, let alone laws. Bannon is a smart enough guy to argue policy (unlike DJT who has no idea what is going on). Bannon could be out there pushing these ideas. FOX would have him on at any time of day, as would CNN or MSNBC. The balloons never get past single tweet level of depth.

GOP just gave them real death panels. This is going to be interesting to watch everyone who voted for them freak out once they realize Obama and his "cohorts" had a good thing in place.

He's uniquely bad in many areas we're used to seeing a veneer on the bullshit. How long does it take to go from his latest thing to Congress, where huge majorities gained from campaigning on repeal can't even deliver a bill to his desk? I'm not excusing Trump, but they're all clowns in my book. And America couldn't do much worse by throwing them all out and electing from a random search through the phone book.

Try out Athenian democracy again, just dice roll a few hundred random people into congress. Might as well be worth a try

Something tells me the factional war within the Trump White House is waged with leaks just as much as the opponents of all-things-Trump use them. Some populist roads and bridges plan for the people may be the only thing we get out in the next year.

Not populism, propaganda in its purest form. That's something extremely dangerous and should be concerning to everyone who realises it. Democrat or Republican in that case doesn't matter at all. edit: well most leaks are fine, there are exceptions - but none of these exceptions came up this cycle iirc

If it came out of the WH and has a confidential source describing some stuff that happened in the WH that is a scoop. Leaks: Snowden Reality Winner Chelsea Manning Scoops: Kushner dumping on Bannon Conway repeating what DJT said Reince dumping on Mooch Mooch dumping on Reince Staffers repeating what DJT said EDIT: the big one, DJT himself putting out stories anonymously for promise of access to eager DC reporters
