Out of curiosity, is there any information about whether or not Donald Trump was a good parent/ a part of his kids' lives? It doesn't appear like he has a role in Barron's life, but maybe in his older children's? Just wondering if he was a good father (we know he was/ is a shitty husband), and I can't find much about the idea- one way or another- besides some recent quotes from his older children while being interviewed during the election/ presidency (and so they're probably biased).

He said that these sorts of leaks would have resulted in hangings for treason too. I am now of the opinion that public employees should face some sort of charge/fine/sanction if they misstate the penalties/charges for a specific act or claims something is a crime and isn’t. This shit is just irresponsible.

“How can you say you love us? You don’t love us! You don’t even love yourself. You just love your money,” twelve-year-old Donald junior told his father, according to friends of Ivana’s. “What kind of son have I created?” Trump’s mother, Mary, is said to have asked Ivana.

The [tabloid] scandal [involving Trump cheating on his then-wife Ivana] was seriously affecting the Trump children. Donny junior was being ridiculed at the Buckley School. Ivancka had been in tears at Chapin. When Donald and Marla Maples attended the same Elton John concert, Donny junior cried, for his father had told the children he would give Marla Maples up. “The children are all wrecks,” Ivana told Liz Smith. “I don’t know how Donald can say they are great and fine. Ivancka now comes home from school crying, ‘Mommy, does it mean I’m not going to be Ivancka Trump anymore?’ Little Eric asks me, ‘Is it true you are going away and not coming back?’ ”

Wasn't it even specifically drafted in a certain way so trump can't just veto it on a hunch? I don't think it's veto proof, it's just very hard to. Might be wrong tho.

veto proof meaning that it had enough votes that they could over ride the veto if it comes back

I am kind of amazed by this. Any normal person, upon getting into a new job, will take a bit of time to figure out how it works, watch things, and try to understand the systems at work at their job before changing a lot of things.
Scaramucci just goes "fuck this, lets blow stuff up!"

All good my non american friend
Works like this
Law passes -> pres signs it -> becomes law Law passes -> pres vetos it -> goes back to house and senate -> they re vote or change the bill re vote -> if 2/3 of both house and senate vote for it it becomes law change bill -> changes are made and sent back to pres to sign or veto
The vote for the sanctions was 98-2 in senate and something like 419-3 in the house
Way over 2/3erd so you can say the bill is veto proof

I really should have put more stock in the fact that Spicer, who took heat for 10 million things that were not in any way his fault and kept on ticking, resigned over Scaramucci.

Wall Street mentality. Everything is broken and mismanaged and everything really needs a top business exec to come in and shake things up because the only reason why anything is ever done the way it's done is because they haven't been told how to do it better by someone who has been to over seventy leadership seminars and can perform a solo trust fall.

Apparently the "skinny repeal" is going to be written over lunch today. What responsible governance we have.
That's obviously plenty of time to figure out exactly what will happen to markets and the USA, right?

You are closer to right than you think. There is language in the bill that Trump cannot reduce the sanctions. In that sense the bill contains veto proof sanctions. But usually when people say a bill is veto proof they mean it passed by such overwhelming margins that a veto is assured to fail. This is a veto proof bill that has veto proof provisions once enacted.
