Perfect! Just like Anders Behring Brevig (the now sworn Nazi anti-muslim terrorist) defined the social democracy in Norway as "multiculturalism".

https://www.propublica.org/article/immigrants-in-detention-centers-are-often-hundreds-of-miles-from-legal-help Even thought this is a left leaning site, the article is pretty clear that the people detained do not have access to legal advice or aid. And that is fine if ICE is perfect and doesn't deport people it shouldn't. But their record is far from perfect on that front.

As I said before, the media just plays one part in the problem of "corporate fascism". Just as the media played just one part in nazi fascism (and it wasn't in the killing of people, now was it?). Speaking of killing people... (I see the rise in suicides as being the result of what I'd call "corporate fascism" - although its likely not exclusive to that) Source What makes it truly fascinating/worrisome is how this is happening despite some small trends in suicide methods away from guns. A lot of historical trends of increases and decreases in completed suicides have been chalked up to people using guns more/less, since they're by far the most reliable way to complete a suicide.

I really don't feel like being dragged into war because Iran and Saudi Arabia have a fight and someone invokes article 5. Hopefully our politicians don't either, but Rutte, Bruma and Pechtold are lickspittles and Wilders has a hard-on for all things Trump, so I don't have high expectations from them. And here in Spain we have Rajoy, nincompoop par excellence, probably praying for any excuse to take the focus off the internal problems.

The detention centers they are opening to keep all these illegal immigrants are far away from any legal representation. And the courts are in the detention centers. https://www.propublica.org/article/immigrants-in-detention-centers-are-often-hundreds-of-miles-from-legal-help Even thought this is a left leaning site, the article is pretty clear that the people detained do not have access to legal advice or aid. And that is fine if ICE is perfect and doesn't deport people it shouldn't. But their record is far from perfect on that front. Calling someone an illegal immigrant, or terrorist for that matter, is such a seemingly effective way of demonizing a group of people and making the public stop caring about what happens to them. This is one of those cases where I'd wish people would spend some time investigating typical life stories of immigrants, to see they are not dangerous criminals but normal people in a bad situation who need to be treated with human decency. Instead of going on Breitbart and scaremongering about 'rapefugees' and whatnot.

I'm ambivalent on the topic; turkey has done some stuff well worth raised tensions over, or a reduced alliance/reliance; otoh they've been a long-time ally and they're still in a very strategically useful position, so they seem useful to have right now.

Once you get into investigation politicians, I have no idea who has jurisdiction over what.

In waiting for corroborating reporting. It's too big to go off disreputable people citing independent sources. And it will be very public fairly soon if this time there's substance.
