Everyone get a good look; this is the last time you'll see Republicans smile for a while.
Well, it was the best they will be able to do, after all. The efforts of Obama and the immigrants ruining America were just too powerful in the end.

Yep. Get used to this excuse. We're already seeing him toss it out there in this speech.

The fact that the Democrats let the GOP get the jump on them in regards to trade means that the old school party members need to be replaced in 2018 and so on.

This speech is a nice, systematic deconstruction of the "Trump is a racist" narrative.

Haha I'm not even watching. I was just assuming that's what the tone would be.

Ehhhhh it is going to need some action. Anyone can give a speech.

Trump just scored with this dead soldier.

And then he made a joke about it.

Lol how? He obviously did not write the speech and it's easy for anyone to say pretty words on script.
As for this Navy SEAL Ryan thing it's sad but just today us intelligence officials told the media that literally no new or vital Information came out of that raid. I understand why you would lie to make the widow feel better but that doesn't make it any less of a disgusting lie and attempt to deflect blame.

Phrasing. Yet that's the way it will be seen in some areas. Just taking advantage! It really was quite a moment tho.

Good speech for Trump. Mission accomplished for his team.

By far his best one. I wonder how the Dems come back.
He promised A LOT in this speech, I have a feeling it will come back to haunt him. I can see the ads 4 years from now splicing this speech with talking points.

Trump promises a lot and will accomplish very little of it. He is no leader and his party needs one badly.
|
He said lots of things Dems should like, but they mostly sat on their hands. Going to be weird.
|
Dems like nothing that man has to offer. He is all smoke and empty promises. The GOP burned all the bridges in the last 4 years, the Democrats are going to let them own any Trump disaster.
|
I'm not sure that democrats can credibly roll out someone like Beshear right now.

I can see the ads 4 years from now splicing this speech with talking points. Cut taxes, raise spending, oh! and debt is bad! More free trade! And more protectionism too!
And what a beauty she is too! Low mileage, previous owner was meticulous with maintenance! Let me talk to my manager and get the paperwork started...

Poor Beshear. He is giving a rebuttal to the wrong Trump speech. Beshear's speech is laughably misplaced. It's like the democrats asked MSNBC for their thoughts on what Trump's speech would be and then worded the rebuttal accordingly.
And I also find it telling that the democrats picked a retired politician to give the rebuttal (as miserable of a task as that is) rather than an up and comer.
