It was very typical of the baser elements on the left. I was merely expressing continued disappointment. It's enjoyable to retrospectively watch vanilla news media establishment types be provocative. The enjoyment is doubled when you know the shit storm that followed (pun intended). If you watch the actual segment you might find it quite tame. He clearly didn't mean it literally, and it's something that I can imagine a lot of people might say. Did he know what he was doing when he did it? Was it planned or improvised?

Ugh, republicans kept sniping at the law so much. It's really quite irritating and stupid. It'd be better if they'd work on agreeable solutions; but I know everyone (on all sides) likes to blather when they're on camera in hearings. I wonder, how do we select for people who are good at doing their job instead of pandering to the camera.

Your post is all kinds of confusing. Are you talking about self assessing or mixed goals?

What does it say about a person who voted for a VP candidate he thinks is retarded knowing full well the old man could die anytime and this retarded person could become president? That sounds like a pretty retarded move to me.

Clearly something horrific if he prefers a president with mental retardation. Much more likely though is he would prefer a GOP president over anything no matter who is actually better, as long as his guy wins. There's also the possibility of the whole black man becoming president stuff.

I appreciate that, but I don't have the time to do it justice presently. Whatever I'd write right now would be somewhat half-assed and derail the thread so badly that it might break.

Do you believe Obama to be more corrupted than the norm in US politics? In other words, is it purely ideological? Or do you have something against the man himself?

He's definitely intelligent enough to do the job, but I think his intelligence is overstated. Do you believe Obama to be more corrupted than the norm in US politics? Yes, I do. Without going into any specific scandals, the mere fact that he came out of the Chicago political machine says all that you need to know on this subject. In other words, is it purely ideological? Or do you have something against the man himself? It's mostly ideological, though I strongly question Obama's judgment.

I really just want to pry an answer out of him on this topic because I really don't get partisanship from either side. I definitely categorize TLs conservative posters wrong sometimes, it's hard to remember not all conservatives are like the ones I talk to in the south.
