His job is literally to get the lowest common denominator to fall in line with the party. Some people like to analyze things and make their own decisions and some people like to get told what to think by an old bigoted pill addict. Listen to him enough and you'll find his analysis dead-on frequently. I can listen to Rush for a couple hours, but can't stand Bill O'Reilly or Glenn Beck. Frequently, the latter two really appear as the backbenchers of the US Political scene ... repeating the previous day's analysis as parrots. It was funny hearing Maddow call him the "most talented radio personality" of her generation. He's that guy moving people to his point of view and entertaining simultaneously. Of special note is the left's claim to fame--namely that their shows are disproportionately concerned with the "reasonable discussion with facts." That supposed moral superiority of America's left is palpable.

It's so hilariously off base that it hurts -- little more than superficial cartoon characterizations. I'm guessing that there's no more than a dozen liberal/European posters in this thread who understand the other side of the argument well enough to reasonably explain it. I don't think conservatives even know what being a conservative entails

To be fair, in European terms, Democrats and Republicans are both liberals, but more Democrats than Republicans are conservative ![]()

I think once you realize that xDaunt's post on here are a battle between his Id that wants to triumph at all costs and fight back against all the evil arrogant liberals and his actual self who is tired after a long day of legal work but likes a balanced-ish perspective on things grounded in factual statements you'll be able to understand his posts much better.

This isn't too far from the truth, but you'd need to rework the motivation of the Id.
