The media is highly polarized in America. Right wing talk radio and Fox News literally tell their viewers/listeners over and over "We're the only ones you can trust" so they flat out ignore any source that isn't from someone they "trust". It doesn't matter how negative the rest of the media was to them, they automatically tune it out.
