But you don't do more than read headlines of sources you disagree with, of whom 538 is now one, so I wouldn't expect you to factor that into your presentation of the data. The short-term velocities look about the same at the trailing end, though, which is a good sign. A broad coalition of US black activist groups including the Black Lives Matter Network released a policy document demanding reparations and an “end to the wars against Black people” on Monday, as the second anniversary of Mike Brown’s death in Ferguson, Missouri, approaches. “We are dreamers and doers and this platform is meant to articulate some of our vision,” the agenda reads. More than 25 groups including the Black Lives Matter Network, Black Youth Project 100 (BYP100), Dream Defenders and the Million Hoodies Movement for Justice joined together under the banner the “Movement for Black Lives (M4BL)” to present the expansive demands that span issues of economic, social, environmental and racial inequality. Many of the organizations involved began working in the wake of George Zimmerman’s acquittal over the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, and increasingly gained traction as police killings like those of African Americans such as Brown, Eric Garner and Tamir Rice put national focus on the racially disparate use of police force against black people. The demands include an end to bail, privatized prisons, solitary confinement, and the death penalty, along with the complete decriminalization of drugs and prostitution. “We seek radical transformation, not reactionary reform,” said Michaela Brown, communications director of Baltimore Bloc, one of the groups involved. “As the 2016 election continues, this platform provides us with a way to intervene with an agenda that resists state and corporate power, an opportunity to implement policies that truly value the safety and humanity of Black lives, and an overall means to hold elected leaders accountable.” The coalition also demands an end to what it calls the “mass surveillance of Black communities”, including the elimination of police body cameras. The recording devices have been rapidly adopted by municipalities nationwide to quell outrage over police killings. Other activists have called for a greater use of such cameras, to deter police from using disproportionate force and provide evidence if they do. Source

Source Although I don’t agree with everything in their demand and it’s a clear “shoot the moon” style document, the surveillance angle of body cameras is no something I thought about. I’m still very pro-body camera, but there should be clear rules for when video is destroyed if its not used in an investigation. And limits on how it can be used without probable cause.

Trump didn't have to say anything to the dad or mom, and didn't have to come off as a prick. It was just Trump being petty as usual after being criticized, not being able to let it go. So after the DNC it was a Trump pettiness tour. #DiceRoll

Meh, I think it's a little petty to hold it against someone that they came off as "more of a prick than they could have" when they were going to be seen as a prick either way. All Trump needed to do was let this issue die out of the news cycle, just issue a press release thanking Mr. Khan for their family's sacrifice, but saying something to the effect of - "While I understand Mr.Khan's views, the current cycle of terrorism demands far more radical policy positions than at any previous time in history" . That's all there was to be done. A little bit of humility and nuance are all that is needed. Instead he dragged himself into it like a pig and drew the entire discourse into the gutter by insulting his wife and insinuating that he had made comparable sacrifices to a soldier who gave up his life. The only sacrifices he made were the marriages to his ex-wives in pursuit of his next younger, prettier conquest. Truly a contemptible human being.
