He should just do it. Just because one man had a dream 50 years ago, noone else can dream anymore?
All this crap about the speech,it will backfire on the democrats for sure. Attacking Melanie is bad idea. It was a good speech, nothing wrong with it. Democrats are starting to look more and more like a bunch of cry babys that seek out every opportunity to show their hate for trump.

The press is reporting on it. The Dems are laughing.

Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus doesn't fault Melania Trump for delivering a convention speech that appears to be blatantly plagiarized, but he said Tuesday he would consider firing her speechwriter.
"I don't blame her," Priebus said at a Bloomberg Politics breakfast. "Some of these things are pretty common themes."
The chair said if it was his call, he would "probably" axe the staffer responsible for the speech.
Priebus also predicted "the distraction" over the plagiarism would peter out as the convention picks back up Tuesday afternoon and praised Trump's speech as "very inspirational" and a "great immigrant story."
The speech was a rare move from the presumptive nominee's wife, who has shied away from the spotlight and rarely appeared on the campaign trail.
While the speech was initially praised by conservatives, confirmation quickly surfaced that parts of Trump's text was word-for-word the same as First Lady Michelle Obama's convention address in 2008. The Trump camp has denied any "cribbing" of Obama's speech.

"To think that she would do something like that knowing how scrutinized her speech was going to be last night is just really absurd," Trump's campaign chairman Paul Manafort told CNN's Chris Cuomo on "New Day."
I think the argument that Trump can assemble a great team around him to make up for his lack of knowledge is shot.

It's awesome how their argument is "surely no one is that incompetent! especially not us!"

This whole thing was a mess. There is definitely people on the inside that are laughing their asses off outside of work. Just hearing the rick roll, and how the speech was plagiarized is more than enough.

That argument got shot for everyone but people that will support him no matter what a long, long time ago I think. So it really doesn't much matter.

It's especially funny because the defense of their tweet stolen from a racist/anti-Semitic twitter account was one part "a star is just a star" and one part "it was incompetence." Also does the campaign chair think she wrote her own speech? Now THERE'S incompetence. (Of course the speechwriter could also be female but it's pretty funny if he thought she wrote it)

Considering how badly Clinton was biting Sanders (especially on twitter) I think some people should be a bit more careful about laughing too hard.
As for how this Melania thing will play out, I think some people don't realize that between Trump, The Press, and Hillary, Trump is the most trusted. Not going to be as easy to push the version they want as some people think.

LOL They don't have freedom in the EU, the birthplace of democracy. They lost it. We replaced it with Shania Law. You stand before Shania Twain and try and impress her with your eloquent defence of your actions. If that don't impress her much, bullet to the back of the head. It's tough but we find it fair.

They could make this a 5 minute issue. Just say "Yep, on speech writer totally lifted that paragraph. We fired him/her. Its shameful and we are sorry." And follow up with, "Michelle gave a great speech in 2008 and we think a lot of the themes still apply today."
BUT THEY WON'T DO THAT BECAUSE "OBAMA BAD!!!"
Edit: Seriously, I am enjoying the fact that Trump can't go 24 hours without fucking up and then doubling down on fucking up.

Not many people know this, but Christians at one point only allowed Jews to convert to Christianity. It was only until centuries later that they allowed 'heathens' to become Christians.
edit: oops didn't read the nested quotes. Looks like someone else already knows a bit of history

It takes a special kind of person to get caught red handed and still claim to be innocent. Most people would try a different approach to make themselves look innocent or the event harmless.
But nope. just keep yelling 'its not true' in the face of clear evidence...
