It's usually very packed. As I said earlier at the start there were large empty areas in the upper parts of the arena.

I think she's been binge watching 24 a bit too hard.

"Evil exists" yet again. Are we already at the moralizing point? Democrats for the most part haven't met a war that they're against, except for revisionist drivel way after the fact. We can go way back to Woodrow Wilson if you want the penultimate war-monger. This isn't to say the GOP is any less interventionist since the Neo-Cons jumped into the party in the 60s. Traditionally, the GOP was the anti-war party, but of course, back in those days they were just Nazi sympathizers or German loyalists or w/e epithet was levied to paint them anti-patriotic. (They were against WWI and WWII, Nixon ended Vietnam, etc.) Of course, I'm a bit biased as I miss the old libertarian right GOP from 1900 to 1950ish, but whatever. This myth of the soft Democrats plays only to each's base for propaganda purposes. I won't deny Democrats have been part of the war machine many times in the past, and have definitely contributed. I just don't appreciate them pretending like they have no hand on the War on Terror and shouldering the blame on Obama and Hillary.
Oh of course. Since the mid 60's it's been equal opportunity sucking the MIC's dick and geo-political/executive power out-growth. Though just to highlight how delusional this myth is - people think/thought that Bernie Sanders was anti-war, when his record puts him squarely in the interventionist camp which I always thought was ironic how Bern supporters supported him in some measure because they disliked Hillary's gung-ho-ness. The most anti-war candidate in the last 20 years was a Republican, in fact, the 2 most anti-war candidates in the last 20 years have been Republican (Ron Paul and Buchanan).

Honestly the thing that bothers me more than anything else is how none of the speakers seem to know how to do a USA chant

I believe she may be talking about failure. She needs to repeat it two dozen times before I'll be completely sure, though.

I really don't understand how they're pushing this leadership thing so hard while Trump runs on an isolationist platform and questions NATO. Have they forgotten who their candidate is?

Holy shit a black guy.

"Let's get some freedom, alright"
Oh man this is already going to be good.
"It's time to pick freedom, over tyranny"
This guy is a walking quote mine.

Benghazi!
Oh god another USA chant.
"The only time our soldiers will go on their knees will be to thank god they live in America"
You can't make this up.

I would actually like to get a word count across the RNC's speeches for buzzwords like Benghazi.

The party of Liberty celebrating Gitmo.

"If we're going to go to war, we're going to go to war to win!"
As opposed to Obama and Hillary, who have been sandbagging?

Where is everyone? Was there another secret convention everyone was invited to?
|
The irony of all this jingoism coming after hearing stories out of families who have lost loved ones to war.
