The word douchebag itself is overused by a certain crowd that you just wonder how many times racist/sexist/bigot/homophobe/misogynist will occur per sentence. (I say this knowing how disgusting some of his attacks were in later debates and rallies). I said earlier that personality charge was going nowhere in a debate thread, after some thought I now wonder why you picked those in the first place. See, I just can't believe the only choices for him are between cartoonishly over the top taking-it-too-far oh-my-golly-gosh-did-he-really-say-that entertainer-in-chief and pansy. There's got to be a middle ground. And I don't think he'll convert to there any time soon; I'm not sure he could even if he wanted to given how much momentum the character has. Until he does I will call out his more ridiculous antics that really highlight the excesses, and that's the context I called him a douchebag here; I view that particular interview as a spectacular opportunity to convert in a meaningful way with just a few words, but I can't help but think he knew the way he responded would get him more coverage and thus did it anyway for double the dick points. And for the record I have tried to stay out of calling him a racist, sexist, bigot, or homophobe, if only because I think his persona is just kind of mean to everybody he doesn't want to appeal to at the moment rather than anyone in particular. Certainly I don't think Trump-as-human is any of those things, you're much better off as a businessman not being them. (also The Apprentice was not a terrible show, even the critics liked the early seasons I think since it was the honeymoon season of reality TV alongside Survivor. CELEBRITY Apprentice, on the other hand...) | ||

I implore you to stop reading media headlines and do some research. The man is tough, but fair. And he knows how to bring the banter and get a rise out of people. That doesn't prove sexism. A bit of a bully? Sure. But it's worked. You don't have to worry about him being presidential in the future. He's already assured us that he has the best words. I think he's proven over his lifetime he's not really racist. And he's not really sexist. Come on, Oprah loves the man. Get real arguments because the days of calling people racist, homophobic, and misogynists when they have real arguments to counter yours are over. | ||
