Let the elephant get the beating for a while. My biggest problem with Bernie is that he promises free and says the 1% can pay for it so don't worry. He even proposed a 90% income tax on the 1%. It's sickening to think someone could only be earning 10 cents on every dollar they get. You're making this up as you go along. There was never any proposed 90% tax, Trump put those words in Bernie's mouth in a statement politifact ruled a lie. Just so you know.

I only take home 75 cents on the dollar and I make an average income. To me 25% of what I earn is a lot to lose. I have no skin in the game when it comes to the top 1%, but it's bullshit to take so much from money earned. You understand that Sanders is trying to reduce taxes on you and make up for it by taxing people who have far more than you, right? Because you're voting against your own interests here. Edit: Wow, fairtax. To explain the issue with the fairtax will take just a few seconds and a basic knowledge of maths. So, everyone has necessary expenses, shelter, food, gas, electricity and so forth. For someone making minimum wage these can, cost of living dependent, make up their entire paycheck (minimum wage is a little over $1200/month). If you have a biblically inspired fairtax then that person is taxed at 7%. Now let's look at someone making a median income. They have the same basic necessities and the same tax on those purchases but that only represents 3.5% of their entire paycheck. And the good stuff you do with the leftover money, things like investments in owning shares of a company, that's all tax free. Now let's push the income up to $300k. Suddenly the taxes on the necessary purchases represent only 0.35% of their paycheck. Now sure they could spend the rest on sports cars or whatever but even if they spent another $285k on sports cars every year they'd still only be getting back up to the 7% the minimum wage guy paid. It's a hugely regressive system made by political idiots who hope that they can convince regular idiots that you couldn't possibly attach the word "fair" to anything that wasn't fair because it wouldn't be allowed.

Now you understand how Clinton felt in 2008! They are a strange and mysterious people but ultimately we need their support to win elections.

I'm pretty sure black people can decide for themselves. I fear that this is the kind of attitude that's losing you the black vote, I don't think they want that kind of paternalism

But yeah, Sanders doesn't have much of a shot at this point. He needed a margin of 20 or less, could have survived with 30, and the media would have pronounced his campaign dead at 40. 50 is basically "welp".

Clintons are too popular among black people, and the massive support from politicians and other leaders was a bonus. By the time Bernie started tailoring his message to them, it was too little too late. Contrast: Bernie's top surrogate was killer mike. Hillary had Jim clyburn, the top black democrat and number 3 ranking democrat in the house. Well, Bernie had Ben jealous too I guess.
