the disparity in casualties is more a reflection of the amount of defensive training the civilian population in israel undergo. iron dome system, bomb shelters, siren warnings of incoming rockets, security at malls, etc...
just because not enough israelis have died for your liking, does not reflect the number of attempted killings.
a starcraft analogy, bronze player sends waves of units rallied to a line of bunkered marines. obviously the losses will turn out disproportionately.

An equally appropriate analogy would be a protoss player leaves a group of HTs in a clump with deathball. Terran comes and EMPs the HTs, but the EMP hits the entire deathball also, and then wins the engagement. Protoss player complains that EMP is OP.

The fact is that from what i have seen Israel does, for the most part at least, make every move it makes in an attempt to actually move the war in its favour. Hamas, however seems to just want to cause any casualties it can, and never really deals any kind of tactical strike to Israel.
I don't support either side. Its the people like you, who have lost family, who i sympathize with. I just wish your reaction would be to want to end the war to stop other families going through what you have been through, not get stuck in a way of thinking that is harmful to other families.

Hey guys, I'm just starting to do some research on this conflict (it's completely irrelevant to my areas of expertise), and I was hoping for some corrections/ feedback on what I've got so far. After following and reading the thread, looking through the posted articles, and watching the videos, this is what I've pretty much come up with at the most superficial level:
Most of the time, Hamas is the aggressor and pokes at Israel, in the same way a child taunts a bear. Then Hamas stupidly wonders why they get obliterated by Israel's superior army and technology. Israel is also really good at disproportionately wrecking Hamas (e.g., recently 1,100 Palestinians vs. 12 Israelis dead) and both sides seem to have no problem occasionally focusing down civilian areas to take out (or not even take out) leaders of the other side. And you'd think that Hamas would stop poking, but the Palestinians have been backed into such a corner, and pushed into such a small area of land (that's now so overpopulated and has such little support) that it's not completely surprising that they hate Israel.
Is this even remotely close? By all means, correct me if I'm completely off-base here. I'm looking for some education on the topic Thanks ^^
