If anyone even agreed to do that they're completely moronic and just as bad as the guy scamming them. While I think Crane shouldn't have signed with Blight, I also think people are way over exaggerating when they say "Crane is going to get fucked over." Worst case scenario, they don't send him to any events and he's in Korea doing the same stuff he normally would do. If they send him to an event, that's great. If they promise him a salary and don't pay, well it sucks but then he can just leave the team. The common thread with Blight's previous teams has been players spending their own money to attend events. fnatic/DDT Dota even paid out-of-pocket to break their contracts with fnatic in order to sign with Blight, in addition to paying their own travel to China for ADL.

I've funded LighT out of my own pocket for the past 9 months and I've given everyone on the team everything I promised. As long as you can manage your funds properly, it's not outlandish to run a team from your own pocket. Hey Xeris, I don't know if this was directed at me, but I wanted to reply. If this guy had a legitimate history financially (Like you do with LighT-eSports), I would have zero problem accepting the fact that a single individual has money and is supporting his/her own personal team, sponsors or not. But when you look at his history, the amount of scams he's been involved in, I wanted to start asking him some financial questions about how he is going to support the team. He just dodged all of my questions and finally gets to "Well, I fund the team myself and I'm not really employed" (His wording was something like this, I can pull the quote from skype if you guys would like) I 100% agree someone with a job (Or just some money!) can fully support an esport team, but with BlackFoger, I wanted facts from him. I wanted to know What have you changed since x, y, and z scams that I should trust you? Every post I read about you consistent on you not coming through to your players financially, what has changed and why should I trust you now?. When he couldn't muster up a feasable response to this, I had to decline his offer.

Oh ya for sure... obviously my players trusted me enough going into this and thus far there have been no problems :D I also make all my money stripping at nights, but that's another story. Regardless, I was kinda just making a general comment about it being possible to fund a team yourself. I'm not rich independently, nor do I make a ton of money, but I can manage this because I'm careful and don't waste money on dumb stuff :D! I don't really know Blight and can't comment about its history at all, was just making general comments. I will say that anyone paying stuff out of their pocket expecting to get reimbursed when they don't really know/trust the source is incredibly stupid.

I read some posts in this thread and I understand the problem. I just wonder how doing something like this can pay off. Let's say you're the blackfogsomething guy. You take players tournament prize and never spend a dime on the them. Clearly profit. You take money/gear/whatever from sponsors and never give it to the players. Clearly profit.

Make sure it also addresses comments from your former players, people like Misery, who said: The biggest mistake we've made regarding sponsors and organizations has been to commit to Blight gaming and Blackfogs false words and unprofessional behaviour. I will in this blog entry describe how blackfog have tried several times now, to make us play under his pathetic organization by permanent lies and by constantly avoiding any kind of questions from our team. and DaZed: This guy is a pathological liar. and anGer: Blackfoger originally promised us a expense of 1500 the dayafter we made it to Lanchamp LA. He dragged it on for about 2 weeks and lied constantly about things. He finally sent warmachine a e-check that was never meant to go through over paypal and screwed us over. Luckily Mika came through a week before the event and purchased our flights....and when he did Blackfogger told everyone it was he who purchased them. Don't trust the guy he's really weird and Griff: Blackfoger from Blight Gaming informed us that he would pay us $500 before the lan to help cover travel expenses. In return, we would tag up as Blight.Zomblerz. He agreed to do this on vent as well as on steam messenger several times, and I personally witnessed Justin "heatwave" McKay give Blackfoger his paypal e-mail several times. The day before the LAN Blackfoger said he was going to pay us the money and just straight up didn't. This caused us to take a huge hit out of our prize money as well as paying some out of our own pockets to cover travel expenses. JBL from former Demonic gaming sent us money to help cover our expenses and his organization wasn't even functioning at the time. So a dead organization can send us a nice sum of money to help us get to L.A. yet Blackfoger can't deliver on a $500 promise that was made weeks maybe even months before the LAN? You ask me, and I think Blackfoger has been exposed as phony.

If they really wanted to change, or even had a BRAIN in their SKULL, they would have done what any smart organization does when they screw up. CHANGE THEIR NAME. Really Blackfoger? You screw teams and players (as this evidence is pretty condemning and from multiple sources) and don't even change your handle, the teams name, or the business' name? LOL That alone tells you what kind of "organization" (if there is one) this is. You even suck at scamming people. Changing your name/contact info is like rule #1 in scamming! I was thinking about this too lol.

But calling him names if you have no personal experience is just childish. Who, knows.. perhaps he didn't pay those players/teams because his Mee-Maw died... *sarcasm* *TBBT reference*

With that much negative feedback surrounding you, I find it hard to imagine that you will actually answer "everyone's comments" and not dig your own grave while doing it. Oh well, not my problem. Should be a good read either way.

Though I cannot confirm current standing, blackfoger, as of earlier this year, owed one TF2 player over $1000 USD for promised flights and hotels. Said player payed that out of pocket so that his team might be able to get to LAN and compete. May be the same incident, but I also remember that a team was trying to check into their hotel, but when the hotel ran the credit card information (blackfoger's, or more likely as we found out, his mother's), it wouldn't go through so the team had to pay for the hotel out of pocket. That may or may not have been payed back, a lot of the articles and forum proceedings that occurred during that time have since been completely lost, but there are some really shady business practices going on with blackfoger. His past performance in the TF2 community has been spotty to say the least. I really do hope that blackfoger can come through here, esports needs more sponsors. As far as I know, they have a TF2 team right now (blight.Xensity) that they are providing league fees, servers etc for, without incident. It is possible that they have cleaned up their act, as I never got the vibe from blackfoger that he was a scammer, just someone who was way in over their head on something that takes a lot more planning, organisation, work and money than they thought. Skepticism here is well deserved, and everyone involved needs to be aware of the shady practices in the past. Blight is a bad name in the TF2 community, and it has a long way to go before it can even start building up a positive reputation. some reading http://www.nerdbuster.com/2011/11/blackfoger-has-been-caught-in-dirty-dealings-again/ really informative article on ESEA site about the TF2 team, some of the CS things and an ex staff member of blight (TheWhiz) talking about what went on and such. http://news.esea.net/tf2/index.php?s=news&d=comments&id=8442 *edit* Knew I had another couple articles from ESEA http://news.esea.net/index.php?s=news&d=comments&id=8072 http://news.esea.net/index.php?s=news&d=comments&id=8374 Seriously, this guy is bad mojo, I dont really know who Crane is, but when I saw Blight on the sidebar on this site, I almost cried. I hope things turn out better this time for blackfoger and everyone involved.

Please do not assume that if I have not stopped this it is my fault. I cannot control the decisions of other people. Thanks for understanding. I can't imagine anyone blaming FXO for this tbh. If crank has an agent he should leave him too though, not beying able to filter out scum like Blight for your players, is an incapable agent.
