This will have little effect on Destiny's income or fanbase, as shown in this thread, so why do his fans care so much whether he's a sponsored member of a team?

I think 95% of his BM is pretty funny, but if you're going to try to be edgier and more controversial, I think you also need to think about risk management. And honestly his risk management boiled down to "stfu I do what I want". Well, that's fine, but just don't expect that to be fine forever. And yes, it IS indeed more professional to NOT be like that. Entertainers, athletes, politicians, anyone in the public eye is held to similar standards.

I honestly think you're misinformed which is a polite way of saying stupid.Destiny was the most prolific streamer on Quantic and one of the most prolific sc2 streamers. This is silly. Sorry you had to go, Destiny. You should move to a new community, even if it's LoL or something. I wish you good luck.

Do i agree with a lot of what destiny says on stream .... not always, but i do find a lot of it fucking hilarious and i respect the fact that he's always honest with himself and his stream. People also bitch about professionalism .... really? Professionalism in a scene composed of 12-25 year olds playing video games? Get real, what one does on his stream outside of a tournament at home while not wearing a team shirt or representing sponsors is fair game. A lot of you need to get exposed to a solid dose of reality. Pathetic.

Sensitive people will be sensitive, and some people will go further than others to rectify their perceived wrongs. Which is why Destiny got kicked off Quantic.

I honestly think you're misinformed which is a polite way of saying stupid.Destiny was the most prolific streamer on Quantic and one of the most prolific sc2 streamers. actually it's a polite way of saying ignorant, which unfortunately among today's less language-sophisticated is a synonym for stupid. (it's not.) quantic players seem not to stream much in general, other than destiny, and he's not a member now. i don't think personal streaming is a big part of their business plan, they seem more focused on sponsorships and tournament winnings 'you rarely see him on any broadcast except his own' Which only runs for 8 hours and produces more money than anyone from Quantic. What blind hate can do to a man... most of that money goes towards supporting destiny, as so many people have pointed out, that's how he makes his living. you're just drawing conclusions you wish were true rather than stating facts, destiny's streaming was a nice bit of sprinkles on top of the quantic muffin, not the icing or the muffin itself.

I have no idea of what the communication there has been between Destiny and his sponsors but based on this thread and others it would appear the sponsors were not fully aware of what kind of product they were getting with Destiny and if Destiny had clearly stated to them that this is the kind of product you are getting and if you don't want that or if you want to put some "mature content" warning on it then that whole aspect would have been dealt with and this kind of issue would not have arisen in the first place. I personally enjoy Destiny's stream but at the same time I do understand that it is in a different category when compared to Sheth's stream, for example. The niche is different, just like cable tv and regular and I think it's sad to see the conflict happen like this when there really should not be any conflict in the first place.

i won't even go into destiny/orb thing, but actually diverting sponsors attention to such negative things has 10x more of an impact than saying something positive, and soon enough someone important will start wondering in what the hell are they investing their money into fat kids will eventually go on to LoL, Dota2 or the next "best thing ever", while Starcraft community will be left with bad reputation... so, congratulations i guess? you sure did a good thing here today!
