I don't understand how the argument "I bet you don't do anything about racism really" is at all relevent. Surely pursuing and attempting to stamp it out ANYWHERE is doing something about it. This is one of those cases. Anyone who messaged Quantic and/or their sponsors who genuinely felt that it was inappropriate behaviour WAS doing something about the casual use of racial slurs. Who are any of you to judge what they do with the rest of their lives? How do you know they don't do anything else to try and shut down racism? The only evidence you have on any of them is that this time they DID do something about the casual use of racism. With the evidence you have, the only thing you can actually say for sure is they HAVE done something about it. This.

But please also recognize that if you were a Muslim, you'd find the Muhammad episodes to be extremely inappropriate. If you're a hardcore Christian you'd find many other episodes offensive, and if you're an uptight person who finds bad language to be morally reprehensible, you'd find the show's very existence and popularity to be offensive. And all of that is fine too. There are lots of things that people find unpleasant, and choose to avoid or choose not to support. But is it an appropriate reaction to make a vocal protest to the sponsors, and create a protest to demand that Comedy Central cancel the show even though millions of people like it? Or is the appropriate reaction to simply change the channel and not support the show? ^THIS

Should the advertisers for South Park be contacted? In my opinion, context is everything. Coming from South Park, you don't expect a high politically correct moral standard. And coming from Destiny, same thing. That is the appeal. The rebellion against PC. The question is, do you pull South Park and Destiny, or do you acknowledge it as being a different stroke for the people who are into that kind of humor, and just mind your own goddamn business? Is South Park reliant on sponsorship money? Do corporate sponsors flock to advertise and partner with South Park? The answer is no.
