I always believed its wrong to call people racial slurs, cuss people out and be complete assholes to basically everyone just because they beat you or for whatever reason. Yet here in this community a lot of people that I respect say that doing this is okay and if you disagree with that you are stupid. I also don't understand how people can be surprised that when a opportunity arises people are going to try to attack Destiny, why? If you(Destiny) are an asshole to just about everyone, constantly harassing people out cussing them out and being BM for everyone to see do you really not think nothing bad will happen? Can anyone honestly say that nothing bad would come from that? That people would not want to bring you down and try to hurt you because of what you do to others? Yet I don't know what to think at all because of the people I respect on these forums believe all of that is okay and the people who have a problem with it are wrong.

Just like the fighting game nerds wanting to keep saying "RAPE THAT HO" even though some female players would love to play and are driven away by such immaturity. Sorry if you don't care to see that. I'd rather see freedom to express yourself however you want, and a community that understands individuality. I abhor where we are headed as a community, where the mass of complainers suck the personality out of players and casters, and there ends up being a debate thread over every little action. I find it incredibly disturbing that people that can't handle things psychologically are driving the nature of things in this community (and in life in general), because it breeds the status quo. We will slowly lose logical and critical thinking when we're programming younger people to jump at the sight of certain words, phrases, or actions without concern for the context, history or analytical aspects associated with that that they're whining about. Do you understand that there is a difference between expressing yourself how you want, and using language which is inflammatory to an entire group of people? If you really think not being able to say gook and nigger is robbing people of their personality, get out of this community and get some psychiatric help. I completely disagree with you. People are using these certain words and phrases precisely because they DONT understand the context, or the history behind what they're whining about. We're talking about the same language the same group of peoples use to describe themselves in every second sentence right? And it seems like every other racial group in the world can use as well (Listen to asian / hispanic rappers they drop the n bomb just as much as black cats ) .... However whenever a white person uses it regardless of context it's racist? That sure makes sense to me. No , but when a kid gets mad over a video game and resorts to calling his opponent a racial slur then he is no better than the racists who use the word in the same inflammatory manner.

"I believe people should be allowed to say whatever they want, in the name of entertaining people during a show" somehow equals "I believe it's OK to give some people fewer legal rights than others, segregate them, and give them inferior treatment to others".

The majority of society has a problem with a ton of content orignating from South Park. Should Comedy Central pull the show? Should the advertisers for South Park be contacted? In my opinion, context is everything. Coming from South Park, you don't expect a high politically correct moral standard. And coming from Destiny, same thing. That is the appeal. The rebellion against PC. The question is, do you pull South Park and Destiny, or do you acknowledge it as being a different stroke for the people who are into that kind of humor, and just mind your own goddamn business?

Year ago, when I first discovered TL and SC2 scene, I was overwhelmed with freindliness and good spirit. And now shit is flying in the air almost every week. Sad story, bro. I feel this exact same way. Almost makes me not want to be a part anymore. It's just pathetic.

Um, no. If I express myself how I want (and this is just an argument, because your logic is abysmal), and it uses that language, there is no difference whatsoever. There is a larger difference in me using the word "nigger," and me saying "all niggers should burn and be wiped from the face of the earth." One is hate speech, and one is just a word. On May 05 2012 05:15 BlueLanterna wrote: If you really think not being able to say gook and nigger is robbing people of their personality, get out of this community and get some psychiatric help. If that's part of their personality, then of course; you seem to be implying that I'm for hate speech or the actions against certain groups or ethnicities. That's a terrible thing to put in my mouth. There are a line of comedians that make money off that type of language. There are also people part of organizations and gangs that have it in their best interest to be able to speak that way. And was an attack really necessary? Ones in need of psychiatric help would be the individuals that cannot cope when they see or hear certain words or phrases. It's like individuals that seek assistance in overcoming irrational fears that they have; this is no different. On May 05 2012 05:16 R3DT1D3 wrote: Now offend your boss and make this speech. There's idealism and there's reality and in reality, you know the place people actually have to operate, certain words have certain consequences. If you don't want the consequences don't use the words. If you truly aren't using them for what they originally intended, then it doesn't matter what word you use because you're only raging. Even if I had a boss, why do I need to offend my boss to make this speech? My speech will be the same regardless of whether or not he is able to handle a word or phrase. I have no problem with people conforming to avoid getting ostracised, but I put more stock in people accepting others. Bob being an actual racist is wholly different than Jim who uses socially questionable language.

But please also recognize that if you were a Muslim, you'd find the Muhammad episodes to be extremely inappropriate. If you're a hardcore Christian you'd find many other episodes offensive, and if you're an uptight person who finds bad language to be morally reprehensible, you'd find the show's very existence and popularity to be offensive. And all of that is fine too. There are lots of things that people find unpleasant, and choose to avoid or choose not to support. But is it an appropriate reaction to make a vocal protest to the sponsors, and create a protest to demand that Comedy Central cancel the show even though millions of people like it? Or is the appropriate reaction to simply change the channel and not support the show?
