1. Not fair- By this I simply mean Terran has more actions to perform than protoss at any given point in the game, in a sense terran has to "work harder" for the win than toss. For the better part of a year this infuriated me but now I don't care, it is what it is.

So you mean to say here that, at the highest level of play, protoss players who have equivalent APM to their terran counterparts but are still losing the game are wasting their APM on things they don't "have to do" (whatever that means)?

Or are you talking about a lower level of play (at which point, I will add: 1-1-1)?

Do you have anything new to indicate that this sentiment (which just about every terran and just about no protoss agrees with) is anything more than bias?

Open up a TvP replay and see for yourself, or play some TvP's with a friend. It simply takes more APM to play Terran. Its not bias, it...it just is.

You add 1/1/1? I will add any number of toss allins... an allin is easy (comparatively to the other player) to execute- that is a reason why they're so effective, easier to execute, harder to defend.

How about this, since you made the claim, you post the replay of a protoss player with significantly less APM beating a terran in an even match up? Maybe you have higher AMP, but you're really bad at controling you units. It is possible to be really, really fast and also have crappy control.

basically every pro tournament, Terran and Zerg players have higher average apm than protoss players. go download any replay pack.

axslav said his is 93...

Since when has APM mattered?

Everyone loves to cite that July got 818 APM in the OSL. What they don't say is he did it while suiciding mutas into Flash's turrets and losing the game one-sidedly.

It matters if you want to make the argument that your race requires more skill and use the APM meter to prove it? I guess? Its all unclear to me.

Is this actually your response? Seriously? I know biased Terrans like to band together...but seriously?

Yeah seriously.

If Terran can whine that they need more apm than toss in TvP

Can I whine that Zerg need more expansions in ZvT?

Or is it one of those things that different races have different mechanics and so have different avenues in which to reach the same end state? Because if that is the case, then I'll have to be a very silent observer of this thread.

... Are you serious? Has the possibly that someone could be in the process of reading the books crossed your mind? That's such a stupid point that I don't even really know what else to say. If someone goes as far as maliciously spoiling an entire series of good books just because his opponent plays a certain race, then that person has problems. This all seems so evident to me that I don't really know what to say.

Here is replay of me getting stomped by P, when it seemed I was in an unlosable position.

http://www.sc2replayed.com/replay-videos/18840

Y'all can tell me what I did wrong, and if nothing that bad, you can decide if it's balance related.

Ghosts would have helped, but still. He had no spell casters, so why do I NEED spell casters?

You first want to establish that he's not rage-quit offline, and if not it's likely he's queuing up another game. Search immediately and beat him in the 'straight-up' way he requires. Most cathartic way to deal with idiots like that I find!

terrible allocation of resources, not imbalance.
you never got enough vikings to contest the phoenix whatsoever, despite having 2 reactored starports. instead you revert to almost pure marine marauder production. having an equal number of vikings to phoenix means that your vikings will never even kill the phoenixes, much less affect the colossus at all. so you ended up fighting zealot colossus with marine marauders, very heavy on the marine side

it's true you did not need ghosts in that situation, but why would you elect to exclude them from any tvp composition, especially after 4 bases?

you seriously get effected by that? I thought it was pretty creative.. the family in the airplane crash thing, I mean.

But the spewing hate after losing games is basically a part of starcraft culture. All this "manner" stuff is nonsense, the true face of starcraft is rage. If it truly gets to you, you either have to make yourself stop taking it seriously (because it's obviously not a serious thing to say) or just play exclusively with people you know

You are a terrible person and you should feel terrible. No, really. I'm completely serious. This doesn't even have anything to do with balance or anything SC2 related. Who does that? Fucking get your worthless ego together and get over yourself. Jesus christ. IMO spoiling a story for someone is one of the absolute lowest things you can do, because it's irreversible. My philosophy is that fiction is one of the beautiful things we can cherish as humans, and experiencing any great work of fiction is a truly unique life experience. I fall and scrape my knee, it heals. If I get a great story spoiled, it's never going to be the same (unless I literally wait years and years until I - hopefully - completely forget everything, which is extremely infeasible). Seriously, if you actually do that, then fuck you.

or you could, you know, actually read the books? but ha, readings too hard, right?

Learning about this a few weeks ago was the best thing to ever happen to my online experiance.

One game I double 11/11 rax rushed this zerg. Told me that he hopes I get a terminal form of cancer and that my family dies in airplane crash comming to see me at the hospital so I die alone. Seriously I would ahve rather been told im a total faggot over that. Stopped playing for the rest of the day ugh.

you seriously get effected by that? I thought it was pretty creative.. the family in the airplane crash thing, I mean.

But the spewing hate after losing games is basically a part of starcraft culture. All this "manner" stuff is nonsense, the true face of starcraft is rage. If it truly gets to you, you either have to make yourself stop taking it seriously (because it's obviously not a serious thing to say) or just play exclusively with people you know

"I thought it was pretty creative"

Wow...
I don't even understand why people take cheese so seriously. It's a game, and you should know to drone scout etcetera. It's not like he wasted 40 minutes of your life doing turtle mech and winning. I'd take 11/11 proxy rax over that any day. -____-

Haha so true, I was trying to help my friend iron out the kinks of his Sky Terran in TvP. 3 games, all +40 minutes real time in length just sapped the life out of me. Sometimes short and sweet is the way to go, takes about 2 minutes to check the replay and you're ready to go again

There isn't a player in the world that hasn't just said "fuck it" and cheesed once in awhile. I can get pretty BM at the end of a TvP sometimes but all I do is bitch about the matchup. I don't go into personal stuf calling them a faggot or w/e and I certinally do not wish for them to get cancer and have their entire family die just because I que'd up for a game and lost in the first 5 minutes. But then again this community is incredibly immature which was just demonstrated yet again in the comments lol. "This is esports!"

Sorry for derailing discussion >< (Edit)

Spewing hate =/= spoiling books/movies/videogames/etc. for people. If someone just calls me a massive faggot and tells me that he hopes my family burns in hell and that my dog gets hit by a bus or something, I couldn't care less, because it doesn't permanently mar my experience of a great story.

This whole thread is pretty dumb, all players can have problems with all races.... Imagine at any real level of play, in a PvZ, a protoss staying on one base for any amount of time without much aggression, it just would not work, they would lose every time. Terran need to adapt and innovate, going into a game with the mindset that something is imbalanced or impossible is stupid and pathetic, and why their are so few truly top level players.

I play protoss and think EMP nerf was disaterous and tanks need to do about 70 damage per shot. Also ghost snipe was only effective way to deal with zergs late game another bad nerf.

These three things would make terran enter late game on equal footing.

My specail wish would give thors irradate instead of strike cannon frying charglots, zerlings and most importantly BROODLINGS in immidiate vincinity making pure mech viable.

You can still deal with late-game through multitasking. 2-4 drops out on the map at a time in TvZ sniping expansions to keep him from having the money to re-max instantly is a pretty good way to keep the Zerg on the back foot even if you aren't straight-up attacking, and a Thor/Tank force with a little bit of Marine/Medivac to kill Zerglings is actually a pretty good composition in a straight-up fight against Broodlord/Infestor if you have a good concave, and also pretty good against ultra/ling/infestor.

I agree with 70 damage per shot, but only against shields. The real problem is all the abilities of the Protoss: They circumvent cliffs extremely easily (Blinkstalkers, Colossus, Warp prisms with Warpgates), are extremely good in direct engagements (Chargelots, Colossus, Immortals), and Mech is generally just weaker in TvP compared to BW. (No good mineral dump: Hellions are complete crap against everything but chargelots, and even then are mediocre and die faster than stimmed marines since there's no way to safely heal them.)
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
