Hilarious thing is the Celtics drew 12 straight fouls at one point, then stopped driving to the basket. I bet you no one was complaining about free throws at that point. Or last series when Philly, a team that has trouble generating Foul Shots paraded to the line vs Boston. Of course, everyone who watches games knows Boston fouls A LOT. Vs a team that attacks the rim a ton you'd expect them to get a ton of foul calls but oh well. honorary lulz: http://notbillwalton.lockerdome.com/articles/1002053
Rofl at that honorary lulz hahaha

If Miami would have made there free throws this game would have been a blow out and alot of complaining about the calls.

Just watched it: Great game, but in the end MIA will win this series without much of a contest.

I dunno, wouldn't you say there was much of a contest today? I mean it was OT. Granted, many people (myself included iirc), stated that Miami's missed FTs really could have made this a LOT easier on them, but still, this game wasn't exactly a blowout no? ><
I hope you're right and the Heat can prove itself well and get into the Finals with some time to spare, i.e. before the Spurs (or OKC if they manage to turn things around).

rondo's heroic effort wasn't quite good enough

It's already a contest.

0-2 hole feels like the Grand Canyon.
1) Dwayne Wade is the dirtiest player ever. In the last 1 calendar year, he's a) dislocated Rondo's elbow and b) broken Kobe's nose. He probably has a Saints-style bounty system for himself.
2) The Celtics could have stolen this game and gotten the series upset. Only like 5 teams have gotten out of a 0-2 hole.
3) Has any team had worse health this year? Pierce (knee, won't complain about it), Allen (it hurts me to watch him try to run), Bradley (chronic shoulder). In the regular season, we've had O'neal (old), Pietrus (concussion), Stiemsma (played the best ball of his life with a hurt ankle), Green (freak heart condition), Wilcox (freak heart condition) and I feel I'm definitely leaving some out. Boston seriously needs 1 more reliable player who isn't going to fall apart on us and we could have won this year. Danny Ainge is probably going to trade for Greg Oden.

The ref was right there too when that happened. Tough for the Celts that they missed it. It's even a more bitter pill to swallow when you see how many calls the Heat were getting (not necessarily saying they were wrong calls though).

Wow, I don't watch the Eastern conference much, but I have to say Boston-Miami is the Death of Basketball. Awful offense, awful defense, gambling, choking on both sides, terrible refs (and sorry Boston fans, it was horrible on both sides Miami just took advantage of it better)...
Rondo had a great performance, a lot of respect for his game BUT let's not forget a large portion of his points were simply because Miami let him shoot at spots where even most centers get a high percentage...

Kinda agree.
Wade played and awful, dirty game. James choked, as usual. Boston is just Rondo +4. Pierce, Garnet and Allen are totally out of shape. I guess age come into play for them.
And the strat of letting Rondo take mid distance shots with zero blocks was so freaking retarded. Same for not using time out after the offensive rebound on the last ball of the 4th quater. Spoelstra fucked it up (again...).
The winner of the westen bracket really deserve to take the title. GOGO SPURS

Calling out Wade that he is dirty is simply retarded. So you are telling me that if the ref blows a whistle on a clear foul like that, he ain't dirty anymore? Are you kidding me? Lebron chocked? Please stop living in a fairy tale and demand some kind of 24/7 buzzer beaters for your own pleasure and version of whatever you think is clutch. He made huge plays yesterday down the strech. Please watch the game.
Death of Basketball...your opnion sure, but far from truth. If you don't like it's fine. But saying it's death of basketball is just absurd.
|
Wade isn't a dirty player, he gets bailed out a lot though. The NBA isn't dead, it's just being ruined just like the NFL and NHL. Only in those leagues, they do it for the safety of players. Why they bail out every superstar wildly driving/pushing off, palming, travelling...I'd LOVE to know why. Maybe Tim Donaghy know.
Go find a bulls - knicks series from the 90's. Basketball may not be dead now, but it was a whole lot more alive then.

It really shows who actually watches basketball and who doesn't. I guess I should just hold PM convos with Cyric when the thread gets like this.
|
And like Celtics don't foul on every shot? Rondo throwing bows when possible and so does KG. Pierce fouling out of almost every game and tries to act like he didn't do it... Comon now... Celtics are dirtier than that slap to rondos face. I still give it to rondo putting up half of his teams points.
|
The Heat FT disparity wasn't about the refs. People say Lebron had a bad shooting night, but it was because he was hit on every shot. Of course there are a few that looked questionable, but there were also some arm slaps that got missed. Boston is just so slow, other than Rondo, that they play the old-tough-guy-defense instead of real defense like a healthy Bulls team does.
|
The Death of Basketball was an obvious overstatement and a joke. I'm sorry I didn 't make that clear enough. And I wasn't talking about the refs, whom I thought were fair, but the overall level. Is that a conference finals?
|
MIA is just the better team! They would win this series no matter what calls they get.

First step, acceptance. Second step, learning to skim through to look for a reasonable post or poster you know is rational. Third step, being able to skip pages or block out entire posts to not feel dumber after. There are some good posters who are just learning basketball so I don't mind them, but there are definitely some borderline trolls sometimes. And lol at the Bill Walton trip.
And Donaghy has been going on a media run lately, to whoever mentioned him. I heard an interview of him like a week ago that was pretty good. He is doing good with that NBA betting website he is working with hahaha.
