As Protoss what is the best one base all in you can do to Terran?

By "best all in" I mean the all in with the most success and win rate

(please don't mention cheese builds thank you )

"All in" does not mean cheese, it means you have to kill them before your base runs out of resources. They are just as legitimate as a fast expand, just for a different situation.

It is a gamble but its not a cheese. You can't even compare it to a 6pool or proxy rax. Just forces a quick game and punishes someone for being too greedy.

To answer the question I would have to say 4gate. It is devastating in the right hands and forces your opponent to stop focusing on economy and more on survivng the next few minutes from hell. They want to keep that double expand? They are going to earn it.

I rarely play Protoss though so take that with a grain of salt.

Gate Robo Gate Gate Gate Zealot sentry Immortal. It's 100% all-in and inless they have 4+ bunkers you normally win.

god seriously. all in =/ cheese. when do people finally understand that?

it really depends on what the terran does. 4 gate is very strong against 1 rax expo but pretty bad when the opponent doesnt expand. 3 gate void ray is very strong against tech lab openings. soo... i dont know if there is a best all in.

(You better train you macro, I wouldn't do an all-in every game) Best all-in is imo 3gate voidray. You either attack their ramp to kill depot with voidrays and stalkers or you build a pylon on the low ground and warp zealots on the high ground.

And ppl saying these builds are not cheese, doesn't mean they are not as bad as cheese. Same disrespect.

against 1 rax FE, 5 gate sentry zealot works pretty well

Why are people here complaining about him asking for an all in. All ins are part of the game and if you don't know any that, if anything, is hurting your game.


I think it's stupid to see a weakness in your opponent like an early expo (see HuK 16 nexusing every game) and NOT all in. If I see someone 15 CC im going to all in, I don't care if it doesn't "help my game." If I want to help my macro game ill macro when it is necessary.

3 gate void since no Terran below mid master knows how to stop it correctly. Everytime you lose with voidray it is your mistake in combination with luck on Terran side. As a Terran you need perfect micro and perfect bunker placement. Furthermore, the current metagame dictates either an all-in (2-1-1 or 1-1-2) which is autoloss or fast expand which is almost impossible to hold.

It's 3-gate void ray for sure. That's hard as frick to hold pretty much no matter your opening.

btw, there's no such thing for Protoss as an all-in that isn't cheese.

In response to an early expand I like 4 Gate Warp Prism, Blink Stalker rush and 3gate VR, it seems like you could abuse him being spread out to two bases. Don't know how possible it is to do those things as a response, though, I don't play Protoss at all. Aren't 2base all-ins generally better against Terran? 2-base Immortal, 6 Gate and so on...

I'm really not sure why people think these all-ins aren't counted as cheese. A cheese is a build that fails if scouted, and I am pretty sure that all of these fail hard if terran scouts them and places down a bunch of bunkers.

Well no matter what one, you will be most likely building 4 gates.

Then add a robo for warp prism all in or twilight for blink.

I don't know why Warp Prism 4-gate isn't more popular. The big reason that 4-gate fails against most Terrans is the ability to constrict whatever choke you need to with 2-4 Bunkers and mass repair so the Protoss can't get a foothold. With the Warp Prism, that advantage is negated. Most of the time, all you'd need to do would be to warp in 4 Zealots at their main mineral line, and as soon as they pull to go deal with it, ram your main force up the ramp/choke into the natural. Very hard to hold both at once, even with good micro.

It's true that the robo and Warp Prism time delay the attack, but the extra mobility that the Warp Prism gives you is worth it. Plus, you've already got a robo, so you can incorporate an observer to spot high ground structures if you need to, and even grab a Colossus if both players are savaged and need to play it out a bit more.

If you're feeling VERY all-in 4-gate proxy Stargate (with void ray) is the best. They will scout you and make marauders because 4gate is very stalker heavy. You wanna warp almost pure zealot so you can use gas for only void ray. Marauders will then be very very bad because 1) They can't attack air 2) Rauders aren't that great compared to marines when there aren't any stalkers. Warp your zealots on the high ground using void ray so they can't handle all the multi-pronged attacks.

However, if by some miracle they hold it... You lose, no chance you come back at all.
If your best isn't good enough, do the best of someone better!

depends, really. if terran is doing a one rax, no gas FE, 4 gate blink or straight up 4 gate would be ideal, since they have only marines

against a standard 2-3 rax concussive shell expand build, 3 gate immortal or 3 gate void ray is better, to abuse their marauder count

against a 1/1/1-ing terran, 4 gate warp prism would be better to get past their bunker.

Lol so true! I just died to that allin every time until I realized how many marines I needed to incorporate into my build early game (which was around mid master ).

Also it auto wins vs 1 rax concussive expand.

3 Gate Robo Twilight for Observer and Blink Stalkers obviously. Autowin vs all FE and tech builds on certain maps.

I think the best one is warp prism 4gate, seriously hard to defend and you can often just kill enough workers to expand and be ahead. Edit: blink stalkers is really good if they have mass marines

Personally if you dare risk taking it one step further, I would go with a fast 2 base 2collosus allin with 4 or 5 gates for the most solid all-in.
