I am tired of reading mere names on TL.net.
I realise I know none of your names or real life situations.
Hey, my name is Graeme...I'm in final year of highschool in Australia, Sydney NSW.
I'm currently studying Ancient History, Economics, English, English Extension, Math, Software design.
I have moved around a hell of a lot during my up bringing.
First being born in England, I lived there until I was 3. I then moved to Saudi Arabia (of all places) in 1990...I stayed there until I was 6. Then I moved to the UAE...a place called Dubai. I stayed there until I was almost 9.
Then I got to Australia and haved lived here for the longest time in my life of about 9 years or more.
So tell me TL.netters' your name, what you're doing with life and what you want to do with your life.

P.S. I have more...I'm just drunk out of my mind at the moment...I have taken hours to construct this post.

Sup, my name is Micah! I'm in my first year of university, studying Communications or whatever. Did nothing all year so I'll be repeating it in a few months!
I'm really, really lazy. Don't do much other than waking up obscenely late, sitting around here, verbally abusing people in Brood War BEL-1, then usually go out at night with my friends, just have fun, good times.
I listen to goa (psytrance) which is so so good, check out Infected Mushroom and Vibe Tribe and stuff like that.
Leaving for Italy with my friends in about 11 hours, there's like 10 of us going for 10 days, few days just camping, then Sonica for the next 4 days (a really really good goa festival) then go back here and fall into my usual pattern. I'm a lazy no good bum and happy to be one!
Oh and this one time, I totally poo'd my pants. True story, true story.
mOO!

I'm Malde, 19 years old, currently living in Braunschweig/Germany (always lived there). I just finished school with Abitur (dont know whats the appropriate comparison for US-schools is :/. its basically the highest school you can attend before studying), and on monday i am going to start some kind of civil service (thing you have to do when you don't wanna go to the army) where I will work with mentally challenged people. Then I think I will study, but I am yet unsure what exactly ;>..
Oh, and I have a girlfriend for about a year now =).

Nice to meet you too, Graeme. :D (First time I meet someone with your name by the way, must be fairly uncommon!)
I like this thread, you're right. It's nice to have some background info on the TL.netters, really adds to their posts.

Hi my name is Hui, i just graduated from University of Washington with Earth and Space science BS degree. My daily schedule when i was attending class is following, 7am wake up go to class, back home at 5 pm after class play games while eating dinner, and play games after dinner till like 2am, then sleep till 7am and repeat the next day. I'm chinese, and i'm 25 years old, moved to the usa about 9 years ago, self-proclaim to be the best broodwar player in university of washington during my stay there. i'm a virgin and need to get a life ( or get laid). I fart a lot, and I have a funny chinese accent. other than playing computer games I do wanna do anything, my BS degree is to fullfill my parent's wishes, i'm rich i don't need a job. I'm looking for a gal friend that plays games all day and willing to fuck me all day without any commitment from me.( a dominatress prefered ^^)
hm... whatelse... oh yea Excalted hates me, i think uhjoo does too after i bailed out on that best of 3 challenge match up after a game. I am extremely bored, attending rock camp and staring at rocks for 6 weeks are torture. i rather go to 6 weeks of bootcamp and get dominated by gay soliders. All my real life friends are usually white, few are korean. However my korean friends don't share my enthusiasm when it comes to broodwar, they play wow and dota, so I quite broodwar many times cause they got me hook on wow and dota. I play basketball, but i'm only 5'6, i partice martial arts, but i cried when i got mud by gansters and couldn't do anything or even think about using my 6 years of experience in martial arts ( they got a gun T.T)
hm... whatelse... i want to play hold'em but don't know the rules, I want to be gosu at broodwar, but can't play it excessively for a month. I like cute animals and I hate bugs. I play final fantasy 11 and made a taru redmage and actually tread it like my pet.
Opps way too much info? LOL

But i don't wanna get laid like that T.T i feel like take advantage of gals that can't help themselves are pretty lame, my desires wants it, but I just can't do it. I rather pay money for sex than raping drunken gals. But hoe don't count as getting laid right?

Hi, my name is Joe. I live in San Diego, Cali. I'm 23, so I kinda feel old for a starcraft groupie, but I've been addicted since the game took Warcraft 2's crown.
I go to school but I'm lagging a bit, had to take time off after a failed relationship (if you've been there, you know how much that sucks!). I just finished junior college and am starting my first semester as a junior at University of Callifornia, San Diego as a Computer Science major. I'm not sure what I want to do with that degree. I'm actually looking forward to studying more than post-graduation!
I play a lot of guitar in my spare time. I've wanted to start a band since high school, but could never find a competent drummer. I love hard rock, classic, old school punk, metal. I'm trying to grow out my hair to look more rock and roll So far, it's shoulder length and it seems to be working because I've been jamming with other musicians a lot more lately! Superficial bastards!

Hi, my name's Lorenz, I'm 16 and I'm about to start the 5th year of gymnasium (the 'highest' school, it's 6 years long and you go to university afterwards, it's the same kind of school that Yizuo went to). I've always lived in Switzerland, near Zurich and I'm a tipical boring Swiss :/ I play a lot of Handball and if I turn out too lazy for a proper job, I'll try to become pro there. Proper Handball btw, not the American thingy .I've played the piano for about 11 years now and still enjoy doing it, other than that I'm in front of the computer most of the time, reading or doing something with friends. My parents got a divorce when I was 11, and so I'm living just with my mother and my 20 year old brother.
Wow I'm boring T_T

I'm not into my study, I never study at home, don't do homeworks till 10 mins before i need to turn it in, I usually don't review till like the night before tests. However I manage to pass all my class and graduate, don't ask for my gpa it's not pretty lol

Name is Moltke as far as the online community is cocerned. What I am doing: studying German in Heidelberg as a supplement to my normal Hist major, Grmn minor in Kingston Canada What I want to do: survive until I can earn some sort of independence; options are open at the moment.
Born in China, raised in Canada, but will always be drawn to Europe, the heart and soul of the world.

hey hey my follow china man ^^ why don't you study chinese instead of german? go back to your roots man ^^

I'm changing all of this, because I felt like, this didn't explain who am I, and Who I want to be.
Hello, My name is Raul, I'm 16th Years old, and here it goes my life history.
I was borned a day 26th of July, Since a little kid, I was attracted by music, I always love to play the "Tambora" (it's like a little drum, but it isn't a drum is just a tone or something >.<), I always love music, When I get older I went to play ther Electric Guitar, and I love it. Recently this year, some friends and I, start to practice to make a band, in the first plan, I was going to be the MainSinger/Guitarrist. Suddenly this day arrives, we have to practice, and then the Drummer didn't show up at all. We call him for like 3 hours and didn't get an answer, then they said, "Raul how well you can play the drums?", and I response "I don't know, It has been a long time since I played this". Since that day, I'm the drummer of the band.
I want to finish High school, and then go to college (It's University here, but I wanna move to the US to be a Finance Major and then do my MBA). I think I'm gonna do aswell there, My dad is very good on business and He could help me in there.
My social life is like camooT's one, I'm not that akward, but I'm a little bit. I don't talk all the time. About relationship, I'm on a relationship right now, with my best friend. She told she was in love with me, a couple months ago, and we decided to give it a try, we have been together for 2 Months now, and It has been the best thing that ever happened to me, eventhought a lot of people had told me, that if we broke up, I will lose my Best Friend..But shit..
This is almost everything about me, This thread should be updated to add pics and stuff of everyone of us. Thank you for reading this

Hi, I am Murph. I live a simple life, which revolves around: school, my friends, my girlfriend, swimming, biking, bodybuilding, and finally fighting. This has been the story of my life for the past 2 years, except biking, swimming, and friends have always been a big part of my life. I am currently 17 years of age and attending high school. Within a week of graduation (I graduate this school year coming up) I will be boarding a plane and flying to Philadelphia Internationl Airport, and making my way 58 miles north east to my apartment building in Camden, NJ. I will be finding a roommate beforehand via personals so I will only have to pay for half the rent and will be able to support myself off of a part-time job. I will be attending Divers Academy International in Camden NJ where I will get my commericial divers lisence. Then I will be taking several different programs at the Lincoln Electric welding school, and finally getting more specialized training in the field of underwater welding. This will be a stepping stone for me, and not my final career. I will use underwater welding as a stepping stone to becoming an underwater welding engineer, or underwater welding trainer. Not much more to say about my life. I enjoy the occasional video game but am growing out of that. Also, the way I will manage paying for everything is i've been working part time jobs since I was 16. I havn't spent a cent of the money i've made (except for on food, my mom isn't willing to spend the required amounts to feed me and frankly i'm sure she can't afford it) so i've saved up quite a bit of money now. I don't think I will be able to continue bodybuilding after I leave, so if that is the case I will start eating a normal diet and I will save a lot more money that way too. I plan on working a part time job while attending school in Camden, so that combined will pay for anything I need.

I really envy the clarity of your life goals. Sounds like you have it well sorted out and a firm sense of direction, when most people your age couldn´t begin to summarize what they want. What made you want to be an underwater welding engineer though? It sounds like a strange aspiration.

you are the man, I am 25 and no goal for my life. what's underwater welding? i went through university and don't know what welding means lol

Hi all. My name is Tom,I come from Kielce, small city in Poland, and I am almost 16.I have been playing chess few years ago then I gave it up for starcraft and finally I moved to poker in April. I used to have some kind of job as semi model when I was 15 but poker was way better option for making some money so I stopped it.I usually spend my time with my friends, reading fantasy books or few internet forums, playing cards and enjoying the life as much as I possible can. I like listening to rock music like Guano Apes or Evanescence etc...,I am planning to start making investments at stock market and play cards until that day.Maybe I 'll go to economics university but I am planning to make one year break from education after finishing high school.
very good thread by the way

lol this seems cool
Hi \\o_ My name is Pedro, I decided to drop out of college in the last month, because I realized it isn't what I want in my life (at all), so I'm playing poker for a living. I'm moving to my gf's city (we've been together for 2years) and then plan my life from that point on. Nice to meet all of you

hey.
i dont want to give my real name because i think people i know might read this forum >_>. just call me andy .
i tend to be awkward and shy in real life, i usually avoid people, but really don't mind conversation once in a while. i'm in that part of life where i'm trying to decide what to do, especially since my grades last year weren't so great (i'm starting my senior year in a month). i'm afraid of going to college right now, because i know i won't be at all motivated. so i'm taking a short cut out, im heading to china for a year after my senior year to gather my wits, sit down and work.
socially, like i said, i'm awkward. never had a relationship before, but not from lack of trying . anyway, these last few days i've been in contact with a friend, and i've had something of a revelation about people. i need to be less judgmental and paranoid about them, i guess.
finally, i consider myself a writer, but my productivity isn't so great. i'll maybe churn out one short story a month and not too long ones by that. journalism is a possibility for me, but the idea of churning away at a local newspaper doing something i hate out of principle scares me. unless some sort of breakthrough success happens to me in terms of writing, i'm not going to be able to take care of myself that way.
oh ya, i've completely given up gaming now. it's just boring.

Name's Tien. Im 18.
My life revolves around training MMA. Most of the time I box in the ring but once a week I do NHB fighting in the ring. The life of a fighter is pretty much the life for me.
My goal is to be in the sickest fighting shape and one day start teaching MMA itself. And even make a living playing poker. Fuck 9-5 jobs, im going to do what I want to do, not what I have to do.
I am a simple guy, I don't drink anymore, I don't go out to clubs and parties anymore, those places just aren't where I want to spend time anymore. Too many fake people hanging around those places pretending to be people they are not.
I am also very laid back.
I guess that is it.
Oooops, forgot to mention that I am also a nerd.
|
I dout any of you guys live in Camden, but if any of you do it'd be cool to meet someone for when I get there to show me the ropes of the place. Anyway, if you're wondering what Underwater Welding is, and/or are interested I suggest this read, it's about the best (free) article out there. Taking the plunge So obviously it is contract work, for projects. Common companies for hiring are companies such as NASA. They neglected to mention one key thing, there is the danger factor which depending on depth/location can triple your sallery. And if you don't know what welding is and you're American... Weird. Just google welding.

I'm 19. I'm taking software engineering at unb in fredericton. i enjoy playing soccer and reading / writing, particularly satirical pieces. kurt vonnegut's my favourite author. i help edit/write a joke newspaper for the engineering department. i've been addicted to bw for a long time, in grade 11 i skipped week of school to stay home and play. the ironic part, of course, is that everyone else who i wanted to play with during the daytime was at school. i got a weeks worth of inschool suspension for it.

Hi, my name is Alexander
I'm a 16 year old male living in Belgium studying sience with 6 hours of math and 2 extra hours of german. Why the german? Because I didnt feel like 8 hours of math, I'm too freakin lazy for that and rather spend my time on the computer than studying, hah. I like to draw in my spare time which I usually do on saturdays in the art academy where I have some cool friends. I'm a site-creator (Link!) , usually doing both the programming and the designing (and maintaining, creating intro's, doing PR, whatever..) I like anime, manga, gaming, etc. As for music, I recently leeched Micah(cow)'s entire collection on a Lan party You da man, micah \m/ I plan to focus more on designing than anything else in the future, mainly pumping up my skills and combining them with Photoshop, Flash, 3dsMax and Maya. I like to hang around with my friends the most, we chill a lot =D
Nice to meet you all

I then moved back to my moms place, lived at home for a year. I the went to a boarding school in Sweden, One of three "proper traditional boarding schools" which was probably the best thing i've done. I studied economics at highschool. I then graduated, 10 days after i graduated I was sent to the army, where I did my miltairy service for 10(12) months.

i too fluent in 3 languages, cantonese, mandrain, and english ^^ however i'm only 5'6 and 120lb T.T

i'm a lazy bastard. i like sitting on my ass for hours on end. sadly i get pretty violent when i am drunk. did i say i like sitting on my ass? i aced the swedish equivalent of the SAT test ( i think 0.1 % of the population fit in to that group ) but studies is not for me i have realised. i have studied both law and journalism at prestigous universities only to quit. mostly because i am a lazy bastard. for example only 30 out of a few thousand aplicants gets admitted each year to the journalism program i went to. the screening process involved separate tests to weed out lesser talents. i got in only to leave after half a year because it bored me. i guess something is wrong with me. currently playing poker for a living, but i am starting to hate these fucking grinding sessions more and more. poker players in general disgust me. false and greedy people only looking to fill their own pockets on others expense. so in a sense i hate myself i guess. i dream about going on a tilting spree and pissing every thing away so i'll be forced to do something else with my life. if you are lucky you will be there when it happens. i am living together with my girlfriend right now. we have been together for 5 years and she is the light in my life. she is the total oposite to me; hard working, ambitious and empathic. in that aspect of life i am a blessed man.
oh, and i am quite the bw noob.

I stopped playing bw a long time ago so no more battlenet .
Im a quiet kinda guy too in real life. I don't keep to myself a lot of the time and I dislike being around a lot of people.
Im not anti-social, im just a I need my own space type of guy.

Hi all, I'm Ben and I am (wait for it)... 29 years old.
I was born in Berkeley and grew up in a small town in northern California, got my bachelor's in Oregon in 1997 and moved out to the east coast for grad school. After six years I got my doctorate in physics in 2003. In 2002 my Ph.D. advisor and I and one other student started a company to commercialize some of the things we worked on in the lab (magnetic materials and devices and some things based thereupon). Since graduating I've been working for the same company, which currently has 8 employees. Since 1997 I have lived in Providence, RI.
Outside of work I play basketball and started squash a year ago. I check out movies when I get the chance and play BW / CoH / WoW on and off when I have the time. I haven't listened to any "new music" for a few years because it seems like most of the hip-hop (my music of choice) has been really bad for the past several years. Of course maybe I am just getting old. I live with my girlfriend of 5+ years and my cat. At some point in the near future I'll have to "take the plunge"... A few times a year I get to travel for my work, which is a definite perk. In the past year I got to spend time in Taiwan and Brasil.
|
Wanderlei Silva and Kazushi Sakuraba baby. Who're your favourite fighters Tien? I've seen UFC 1-24 before giving up on it, but i've seen every PRIDE FC event, and a lot of Bushido (don't like it as much) events. Also, have you seen that new Gracie kid fight?

Matthew, most people call me Binky, even tachers, 19, Arizona born and raised. I'm 6'3, 190.5cm, 175lbs, about 80kg. I am going to community college because I don't know what career path I want. I am thinking about possibly film/theatre/phyics, one of those three, still iffy on that though. I've been playing Starcraft since Christmas '99 and have only been playing competitively for a year and a half now, but I play for fun and not to win still. I play left handed with a right handed mouse. Meaning my mouse is on the left side, but its set up for rightys, my right hand on the keyboard. I've used to play Baseball and Soccer, did that for 8 years for both. I would still be playing but jocks make me mad, and I dont like that, so I stopped (made varsity freshman year for baseball). I don't work, don't need to, don't want to. I love music, and most genres. As long as it can somewhat understand it or it has a catchy beat, i'll listen to it. I used to BMX, then I got a bad concussion and that stopped, had a helmet on too. That was a fun 3 years... I love to go to parties and hang out with friends (like most people). Most of my friends are girls, because I don't get along with guys, for whatever reason. I'm very shy around new people, but deep down I'm the biggest attention whore I know. I am scared of cars. I havn't been in a wreck in my car, God forbid I might kill someone with it (pic of it in profile), but I've almost been hit head on going 55mph, 89 kph, so that scared the crap out of me.

Hi, I'm Felix, born and raised in Munich (hi roCh), the most beautiful city in the world. I'm 20 years old and finished school last year after which i did my military service (9 months) at the german mountain infantry. Since the beginning of july, when my military service ended i just hang out, do some travelling and a lot of sports and wait for october when I'm going to start studying (neuro-)biology hopefully in Munich. It's not sure yet because there's a nationwide selection progress for the biology course and the results aren't given out until semptember. So maybe I'll have to move to another city for the first semester in sebtember. But as I can't change anything about the outcome of the selection procedure anyway I just enjoy the free time I've got left. Gonna go on a trip to Cuba with 4 friends of mine in late august and probably ride over the alps to italy by bike during the next weeks. Which brings me to my hobbies: apart from Broodwar (which i usually play seriously for maybe a month and then take a month off again) i love skiing, biking, inline-skating. I also played football and did Tae-Kwon-Do but stopped when I went to do the military service. Maybe I'll continue to do Tae-Kwon-Do when I'm studying but I'll have to see how much time I'll have then and if I can stay in Munich (I went to the school of the only german grandmaster michael märkl).
Oh i forgot, I'm 1,89m, 82kg (falling since the start of the tour de france ^^) and if you want to see one of the most boring pictures of me I ever had, go here: http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/bCreative/ I'm letting my hair grow ever since I left the army :D I want to see how I look with long hair. Oh and my beard changes ever 3-4 weeks or so.

My name is Matt, I live in a small hick town in Ohio, USA. I'm 17 years old.
Lately I've been working alot and mostly hanging out with friends. I play water polo for my high school team, and I have to practice and condition often. I have a pretty balanced personality I think, I'm not overly outward, but not very inward either. I'm heterosexual, and I have been in a few relationships since reaching the epic milestone that is puberty. I have three siblings, and two INSANELY religious parents. My parents are complete zealots that try and force bible information down my throat on a daily basis. Oh yeah, barely anything cool happens where I live.

Hi i am kevin.
I live in Southern California (LA), in an area that is mostly populated by Koreans and Chinese (I am chinese myself), so I grew up with a lot of asian influences (aka I'm not as americanized as I should be when living here all my life). My greatest passion is for RPGs, I am a huge CT/FF fan to the point where you can call me a nerd and I'd just sadly agree T_T. I played starcraft a bit but never got good because I was really young, so I tried playing WarCraft 3 and got only a bit of success. If you know my name from these forums, it may be my contribution in the form of pictures (bw-related and others). I also stayed in Korea during 2004 Summer and met a lot of "celebrities". These are the ones I actually spoke a word or more to: Rekrul, Assem, JulyZerg, Nal_rA, Evenstar (War3), Reign (War3), Nangchun (War3), DayFly (War3). I also watched live at the MBC Sejoong Center, the famous Ra vs Goodfriend MSL on Parallel Lines Arbiter Recall game, which is probably my greatest memory ever +_+. If anyone is traveling to korea and might need some help, you can PM me as I know a little bit (although im sure Rek and Leg know muchhhhh more).
As for RL stuff that no one might care about, I am going to be a senior in high school, afterwards I plan on going to UCSD or UCLA to study Business Management.

My name is Steve and I'm a 22 year old from St. Louis, MO. I recently graduated university (last december) with a computer science major and now most of my time is occupied by the "real world." I'm working two jobs: One is a full-time salaried 40 hr/week job and the second is a part time job that gives me a good chunk of extra spending money on the side.
I used to have a bunch of hobbies but right now I seem to have lost sight of them. During the week, I'll generally sit around my apartment with my roomate playing WoW after work. On weekends, it seems all I do is go out and get drunk and some random bar. While it is fun, it does get a bit old doing the same thing over and over again. Also, the heavy, constant drinking has led to some weight gain that has caused my self-confidence to drop, leaving me a bit more shy towards the opposite sex than I was during college.
I'm in the process of attempting to figure out where I have went wrong in my life as of recently and attempt to restructure the things that I'm not happy with or have not matured with my entering of the real world.
The one positive that has come in my life since I graduated is that I rediscovered my love of reading. During college, I did not read a single book for fun throughout the 4 1/2 years I was there. Since I've graduated, I've polished off a good number of them. My goal is to read the books faster than I can buy them off amazon.com or ebay, which I seem to do a lot of.

Ummm... Let's see...
I'm Kyle =D And I have always lived in Sweet Home Alabama ;D I'm 13 going into the 8th grade. I'm like 5'9'' so I guess I'm kinda tall for my age. I've played SC since I was little like 6 maybe, but I always played on Single Player. I started playing competitively these past 2 years and started getting somewhere near decent this year and last.
Here is my picture trail: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=6&uid=3791778& I need to update it, hmmm...
Yeah, and I'm kinda like a popular person kinda guy at my school. I've always made A's with ease and I get the highest average in every class, soooo... =P
I too, like some others, am on summer break, and I will be returning to school on August 8th.
I play basketball, baseball, and soccer.
And no mindcrime, I don't play a fucking banjo.

Hi, my name is Bill, currently living in Waterloo, Ontario. I was born in China in 1987, and lived there until I was eleven. In 1999, my family immigrated to Toronto, Canada, and lived there for about a year, and finally, moved to my current location. I just finished high school a month ago, and will be attending University of Waterloo for Systems Design Engineering.
Next Saturday, I will start my first part-time job, working at Sobeys - a local grocery store. I go cottaging/beach-housing/camping with friends a lot, and attend parties about once every week and get hammered. Just a random piece of information, most of my friends here are Caucasians, whereas in Toronto, most of them were Asians.
I used to be (Grade 9, 10) pretty big into computer games, but now, I would rather chill with friends or workout than sit in front of a computer for a long period of time. I'm pretty big for an Asian I guess, about 180 cm (~5'10), 75 kg (~165 lb). And as you can see, I'm not totally used to the stupid imperial system yet, although it's been six years and I don't think I'll use it over the metric system.

My name is Ben, and I live in Portland, Oregon, the City of Roses.
I'm 16 (17 in September) and I'll be a junior in highschool. I've been playing SC since 6th grade when I was about 12 and I still am a pretty mediocre player.
After highschool I intend to attend a community college for a short time, then transfer to an art school, preferably the Pacific Northwest Academy of Art to study graphic design.
I want to visit Western Europe and possibly live there for a time.
I can't stand the country and need to live close to a city at all times.

Hello, name is Armin, I'm currently 18 ( 19 in Dec )
I was born in Iran, when my dad was younger, perhaps my age a bit older, he had saved up alot of money he had earned working at the oil refinary, he left Iran and went all over the world. Spent alot of time in Britain and Europe, a good 10-15 years at that. Durring the revolution in Iran when the Shah was overthrown, he wanted to see what all the fuss was about, came back to Iran and met my mother. Because of all the time he had spent in europe, for him that was his home, and he was in a sense homesick, all the time he was in Iran from that point on. My older brother was about 11-12 at the time, and I was about 7-8, little bro, 1, I think. Anyway, dad finally had enough, saved up alot of money, sold his house and bussiness and off we went. Spent a year in Turkey, then applied for immigrating and late 1993, we were accepted and moved to Australia. As far as I'm concered this is my home now, and I consider my self an Australia, but of course I'll never forget where I came from.
I've never really shared that story with anyone, so I thought I'd start with a small medium.. like the internet.
I got starcraft, back in 99/00. I mostly enjoyed UMS/Comp stomps. for the first year or so, when I started gaming against other people in 4v4/3v3. Eventually I worked my way down to 2v2's and finally worked my way up to play a 1v1, I hated it at first but didn't give up. With lots of gaming and encouragement, I moved into competative gaming ( in a matter of speaking ) From that point on starcraft wasn't a gaming anymore, it was a goal, but by that time the difficult years of highschool had started and I was on and off gaming for 2 years and never had a chance to gain any deceant amount of skill. After a highschool I went off to college, the times were actually much more flexible than highschool and I had alot of time to play, I got alot better. After a year of college I realised what I was studying just wasn't for me and decided to take a year off to relax and perhaps work a bit. Come March 2005 I get a really nice office job, getting paid alot, I decided to stay onboard and just move up in the company, I see no reason to go back to college if I don't have to. Anyway, I don't have time for starcraft anymore, which is such a shame because I love the game.
Oh, I guess this should have been up top. I enjoy reading, sitting around talking with friends and having a drink. I play the occasional video game, mostly RPG's now on console, and from time to time. Golf.
Well, I guess that shows a brief view of me.

My name's Will. I was born in 1990 in Boston, and I later moved to Pittsburgh, and now I live in Indianapolis. I'll be 15 in September, and I'm starting my sophomore year of high school in 2 weeks. My Xanga is www.xanga.com/t3h_l337_n3wb if you're interested.
I play piano and violin. I've been playing piano for about 4 and a half years now, and violin for like 3. I'm not nearly as good in piano as Empyrean, but I'm not bad I suppose... I listen to Alternative Rock, Punk Rock, and Classical. Some of my favorite bands are Machinae Supremacy (ty TL.net for recommending them), Bowling for Soup, Green Day, Papa Roach, and Yellowcard. My favorite classical composer is Chopin, although I also enjoy listening to Strauss.
I'm Chinese, so obviously, my parents have huge expectations of me I want to go to Carnegie Mellon University (in the top 20, top 10 in Comp Sci) and major in Comp Sci. I <3 computers. I know quite a bit about computer hardware, so if you have a hardware question, chances are that I'll be able to help My dream job is to become the Department Chair of Computer Science at MIT. However, that's not going to happen...
You can find me on Anandtech forums (forums.anandtech.com) with the username t3h l337 n3wb. Btw, if you haven't noticed, my username is an oxymoron (contradiction between two words, l337 and n3wb). I had to change them to actual letters instead of numbers at TL.net, because the rules prohibit them...
Starcraft is awesome. I got my first copy about 4 years ago, played the campaign, and then proceeded to LOSE my CD without even experiencing multiplayer T.T... So I was without Starcraft for like 2 years. Then I bought a Battle Chest and installed Brood War. I played the Brood War campaign, and then I lose my disks. Both of them -_-; Then my friend considerately purchased a new one for me last August, and that's when I started playing somewhat seriously. I was pretty much like addicted, and went from a stupid newbie Terran to somewhat half decent Protoss player I had some help from Empyrean, who goes to my school.
I've recently become attracted to DDR, and I just bought a copy tonight. I'm not in such good shape, and I was hoping to shed a couple of pounds by playing I don't play sports. It seems that none of my classmates are interested in SC anymore... Even Empyrean is wasting his time all day in Diablo 2...

Machinae Supremacy (ty TL.net for recommending them) i wouldn't say they're my favorite band, but it's cool knowing other people listen to them here too. was i the one who made the recommendation? don't remember. (their vocal is terrible tho!)
anyway i was wondering, since you play piano, have you ever dabbled in composition?
edit: oh wow you're young. only starting sophomore year? you have so little to worry about -_-.

yeah Machinae Supremacy - Winterstorm GG

I'm Michael, 100% Korean living in NYC. Interests are finance and political science. I plan to attend either Dartmouth or the U of Michigan really soon. But currently I'm working for Merril Lynch (nothing major, just basic level stuff). I'm planning to go into law and my current aspirations are to become a well established corporate lawyer and once I'm rich perhaps dabble in the stock market. I'm also really interested in currency and its dynamics at the moment.
I started reading these forums about 2 years ago during my ~2 yr starcraft addiction. I'm pretty much done with gaming now, though I still play free for alls on Wc3 pretty competitively. Nowadays for entertainment I usually just play volleyball or American football. I might pick up WoW during college.

im Eivind Leknes 21 years old until last friday (2 nights ago) I had a job, I was working in the highschool I used to attend back when I was a highschool student, that also happens to be the most awesome highschool in the world ; which is also the reason for me applying for a job there last night I went grilling with some friends and then we had some beers and then when we were done grilling which didnt take that long cause the weather was honestly really bad for grilling, we went to some party, which was fun, but we were only there for less than an hour. then we went to some club and 1-2 hours after that I have no idea because I don't remember and there's $100 missing from my wallet, so apparently I drank way more.
I absolutely love meeting people. (and you're all free to visit me ) I used to be kinda shy but I'm not at all shy anymore.. studied political science last year but ended up not studying political science and spending my time getting high and drunk which was fun but not something you can keep doing for long periods of time, especially because it led to me failing most my classes and having $13000 in student loans :D but I don't care, it's just money and I became a much.. better, happier, cooler person during that year. $13000 is no price to pay for that.
until september I will be relaxing completely every single day, and then I will start working in a kindergarten. I chose that job because well, I love children, I love laughing and it's a very.. useful job. especially guys are very valuable in kindergartens because at least the boys there benefit greatly from having male workers as well as female ones. speaking of the laughing thing, I think the average adult laughs like 30 times a day. im probably closer to 300, which is something that defines me; im almost always laughing or giggling even if nobody else gets what is funny.
soo well I really, really love myself. im pretty immature in one way but that's just a good thing, most people are too serious I think.

James, born in Australia, Korea (South) parents. I am newbie at writing/novice at speaking Korean. I'm actually pretty good at English for my age.
I still live in Australia (NSW), hope to finish high-school and go on a tour around Europe (I am crazy about European history, particularly Rome and Germany in the WWs). I will then come back here and maybe become a History teacher? Maybe something with better pay.
I'm only 14, I totally suck at SC. I guess you could call me an only child, because my brother (who is 11 yers older than me) moved out a year or so ago. TLnet is my homepage, I'm an avid fan of Inter Milan and I want to be Italian in a future life. Oh, and I'm Christian though my faith is slipping away atm.
PS: My Korean name sounds like "doll" in Korean - Jung (In Australia my parents made it Chung >.< ) In-Young. For those who have small eyes and couldnt see past the brackets, it's Jung In-Young. "In-hyung" = doll.

hi, names felix, 18 years old, currently living in aachen, germany, but soon to move to frankfurt, when my abitur (explanation is given from some other germans in this thread i think^^) is done, cause my dad lives there. my parents are pretty much divorced, not on the paper though, cause there would be problems with their jobs, catholic crap but thats not a problem for me anymore, probably also cause they can still look into each others eyes and the relationship continues on a friendship-like base. my brother (20 currently) moved out to frankfurt a year ago too. what can i say, i enjoy playing bw and football with my friends(soccer for my american friends) all the time :D im a big fan of eintracht frankfurt, and of the korean football player du-ri cha, maybe some koreans know him. got his autograph and met him several times during their training :D coolest and nicest guy on earth. du-ri at the moment im still in high school, but finishing soon, going to make my civil service then (the counter-army thing) and i have no idea what to study yet. gotta see what the future will bring, playing with the thought of being a policeman though. i did a practical course for 2 weeks at the police, and i liked it, but there's so much more to do, it's just an idea. one more thing to say would be that im really into metal and also living it, from the inside and outside. "its more than my religion, its the only way to live!" still im a nice guy to talk to i think, also cause im a good listener, and i like laughing almost as much as drone :D so much more to write, but im gonna stop here, it's already gotten much longer than i thought. over and out!

@camooT - Nope, I probably won't go into composition. I'll just stick to playing the work of the masters
@SuNDAnce - Yeah, I realize that Computer Science is a lot about logical thinking and problem solving. I take a lot of math classes, so hopefully I'll be able to learn more about deeper thinking and stuff. I just had a fascination for computer hardware, so I learned more about it. Don't want to be like my dad, who's a math major and a computer scientist, but doesn't know what a video card is -_-
@HeadBangaa - Lol, thanks.
@LaZyScV - Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin are awesome Try Neon Genesis Evangelion, that would have to be one of my favorites.

Hi, I'm Chris born in Poland on Dec '82 (I lived in Lybia for 3 years though but it was quite a while ago ^_^). Currently I'm studying Philosophy at the local univ. I play some games for fun but I still spend most of my time drinking with friends ^ ^ My life is too chaotic and complicated to even brief it here so I'll end it here

My name is Justin, I live in Austin, TX, I am 16 attending Westlake High School, and I am Taiwanese.
I'm scared of heights only if I'm just standing on a ledge looking down (even from as low as two stories) but if it's a roller coaster or bungee jumping or something fun like that, I'm not afraid to do it.
I LOVE sports, I've played soccer (sorry international people, I'm just use to that word for it), football, basketball, tennis, rugby and golf. Soccer was my first sport I started near kindergarten, so like age 5 or 6 like most little boys and girls. I played until I was 14 for a select team and state team. I quite because I felt I had a better future with football, for which I play as a varisty starter since sophmore year at my school. Basketball was just for recreation, I played for Middle School and then quit. Tennis I played competitively for awhile but wasn't good enough to really go anywhere with it. Golf wasn't active enough for me, and I just started playing some rugby and it's hella fun!
I have a very active social life. I also have a girlfriend and we've been together since 2nd grade (don't know if that counts) here she is on the very right: here and here - her with me (a little red since we're in South Padre, my hair is now shorter than that football is starting.
I would like to play in the NFL or be a CIA agent or go into something medical.

Hi, my name is Rob, and I live in Massachusetts. I am 5'8" or so, and I weight probably a little over 200 lbs. I will be attending UMass Lowell in the fall. My major focus of study is psychology, and I plan to either become a psychologist, psychiatrist, or possibly a forensic psychologist.
I'm far too metacognitive and analytical to honestly engage in what American society considers to be a normal, healthy social life, and therefore, I'm an introvert. I'm not a hermit, just quiet, shy, etc. I had a girlfriend that I was totally in love with, but we are no longer together. =/
I used to play soccer, but I stopped that because I hurt too many people (i.e. kicking the ball straight into their stomach, face, etc.). I played tennis for about a year, and I played baseball for a few years. I eventually quit them all because I'm fucking lazy, and my dad bought me an SNES.
Starcraft is the only RTS I play. I absolutely love FPS games. I play Counter-Strike: Source, Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, and most recently, Battlefield 2.
Oh, and a lot of people ask me what the hell my name means. The letters are my initials, and 289 was just my favorite number for some reason when I first made the screenname.
Here's a picture of me, if you dare. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/rpf289/Personal/me2.jpg

Hi, I am Bryan. I was born in Windsor Ontario Canada, where I still live to this day (same house too)
I am currently 18 and just graduated from High School. I plan to study Computer Science at a University if I ever get the money.
I started playing Starcraft about 4 years ago when Bryan Myers (rS.MiniRoman) gave me the game as a gift. I have been addicted hopelessly since. I usually play on US East with a few friends as Fennix so if you see me say hi ^^
Aside from Starcraft I enjoy skateboarding with some of my friends, playing the bass guitar, and reading alot of Steven King novels.

My name is Aurelien, I'm 28 years old and currently reside in the outskirts of lovely, summery Gothenburg in Sweden. I work 40 hrs/week selling and distributing bikes, an ok job with a decent salary that I see myself doing for maybe one more year. I am very much a drifter and don't care much about having a career, I'd rather try many different things because I get bored easily.
And just because Rekrul discourages us all from becoming poker pros, I want to try it some day. Not for the money, but for the freedom which is what I value most in life. Since early January poker has pretty much been my only hobby, and I am at a point where I make almost 50-75% of what my job pays me. If I can keep it up, I will probably quit my job and do my own thing for a while, but enough about that.
I am single. Past girlfriends have probably gotten tired of me never growing up. When they hint that they want kids, I run. I don't want kids, I don't even like kids. That probably sounds bad but I don't see myself wanting children in any walk of life, they take too much time and too much of your freedom. Besides I'm a kid myself. Like Drone said, I'm pretty immature but that's a good thing, most people are too serious. All in all, I really love my life, I like most people a great deal and try to see something good in everyone. I don't get along well with negative people though, they drain my fire too much. Peace

hello, i am a 17 year old korean boy who lives in southern california. (born in korea, moved to USA in 5th grade)
i am interested in philosophy, movies, rock music, business, and writing.
for the past two months i've been on a movie watching marathon, i've watched a LOT of movies during this span of time... basically all those movies that i always wanted to see, i saw. i saw them mostly with friends, but some movies i found i enjoyed more watching it alone.
i'm also opening up a store soon. it's a partnership between myself and a friend, the bank already approved of our loan agreement and hopefully it will be a success.
i've thoroughly enjoyed many various kinds of rock music. i'm very open minded but also critical when it comes to music. i had fun finding some new artists through tl.net, so thanks for that.
and although you might not be able to tell because i tend to not think or care when i'm online, i'm experienced with journalism, and i'm the news editor for my school newspaper.
i tend to be very frank when speaking and sometimes people get mad at me for that, but i don't care. i'm also very nice and friendly, and on parties and stuff i always have a great time.
and having korean parents, my parents forbid alcohol when i'm with friends. i also study hard for school, but that's not because of my parents.
i also play golf because it's cool and... i hardly play bw at all now, and only with people i already know. no pubbies heh

The name's Frits, it's a pretty normal name in Holland so stop laughing already.
Moved around a few times in Holland, and now I still live with my parents in some village called "Geldrop", which is just next to Eindhoven, which I'm sure some of you guys know. I'm 16 years old (17 this saturday !).
I'm trying to become a doctor, because fixing people up kicks ass. I'll be going to university in 2 years if things go well, considering I'm very lazy, probably like a LOT of people here. What can I say, procrastination is my middle name but I'll make it eventually. I NEVER give up, so that always comes in handy.
More importantly, the music I love: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Blind Guardian, Symphony X, Pink Floyd. Pretty sure I'm not the only one who loves metal/old rock here. :D
I'm probably one of the nicest guys you'll know, unless someone comes looking for trouble when I'm in a very bad mood. Which is usually never the case.
I'll always help if u ask me nicely.

My name's Jelle (pronounced Yell-uh I guess) Van den Eynde.
I just turned 20 years old and live in Antwerp, Belgium. I have a mental "problem" bordering authism that generally makes it harder for me to judge people's emotions, have a conversation about nothing, understand things that require "feel" to it, etc. I have quite a bit of trouble in everyday situations because of this and I was so bad at school that I dropped out before finishing high school. Rekrul likes to call me a "fucking robot" which is not such a bad description if you think about it.
The other thing that characterises me most is my religious love for strategy games. When I'm playing a strategy game and I'm getting into it I'm thinking about it any time, anywhere. When I was little I always liked games like chess and I loved playing with Magic: the Gathering cards. Later on I loved playing starcraft and right now I'm trying to learn texas hold'em poker.
Loving the strategy of starcraft so much is what inspired me to copy Tiamat's example (I think he was the first person to make audio commentary for starcraft replays) to try out JCA's RWA (replay with audio) recorder. Few people really liked the commentary itself, but I was very lucky that many americans apparantly love the belgian accent, and so the RWA's were entertaining for them regardless of what I said. One of those people was Rekrul, and I'm glad he thought my accent was funny because he must be the best friend I've made on the internet and the internet alone.
I don't really have a clue what I want to do with my life in the field of work etc, but I do know I'd really like to visit foreign countries, particularly the USA, korea and japan.
I was originally invited to the TL.net staff to host liquibition, the series of exhibition matches that made me bring my first visit here in the first place. However, a combination of me quitting brood war and players becoming less interested/reliable to play this kind of showmatch resulted in me failing to live up to my promise and quitting after having hosted only 2 succesful liquibitions.
I now moderate the strategy forum on this site and I have no clue wether I am being any good at it, though I do believe it got better since I first started. I'd love to make a big writeup about how I see brood war strategy, and in fact I'm preparing a big list of tips for people who try to be competetive about the game. My advice is often discarded because everyone knows that I was never a great player, and I guess people are right indeed to be sceptical about my tips. I also want to make a big list with links to many many good threads in my Recommended Threads thread that's stickied in the strat forum.

Ello everyone.
My name is Neil. I am 19 years old I live in England. I'm from a pretty big town known as Bolton where I was born and still reside. I don't really like it here. It's horrible. One day I hope to move further down south to a smaller, and quiter town.
I finished high school in 2002 and then went to college studying Computing. It is a total waste of time. Computer related jobs are reserved for people with actual experience, rather than academic qualifications. Ever since then I have done nothing (been on job seekers allowance). I have no ambitions job wise at all which is quite sad. I don't know what to do with my life.
My hobbies include traveling (not that I've done much of it, never been out of the UK), television, comedy and I'd really like to play Golf, but it's too expensive. I also like writing but I'm not very good at it. I have trouble with placing commas correctly (as some of you can probably guess from this post) and a few other errors. So any help there is appreciated
I don't really play any games constantly anymore. I played counter-strike for a few years and I played runescape for about 4 years. I tried WoW but it is sooo boring. I also played 300 or so games of starcraft, but I only won about 5 times so I stopped. Since then, I havn't found a decent game worth sticking with.
There's my life story. Enjoy !

Hello, my name is Jeff and I'm 15. I live in Somersworth, New Hampshire where I have lived for my entire life.
I am currently going on to my Junior year in High School, and I am dead center in my class. I don't really take school seriously, and I only do well in a class if I am provoked. I get C's in most of my classes, unless a teacher hates me, then I will try and I usually get 95's/+.For subjects, I take alot of computer science classes and I enjoy all of my computer related classes. I love designing websites the most out of all of my subjects[HTML/CSS/XHTML]
For the summer I am working 40 hours a week being a janitor in my High School. It isn't as bad as ti would seem. They pay me good, it is close by and it is very easy work for a summer job. When I am not working I like to ride freestyle BMX and skateboard. I have a small skatepark in my driveway/yard. It consists of a half-pipe, 2 quarter pipes, a fun box and 2 rails. Biking and Skating is pretty much my life right now outside of work. When not working, biking or skating, I absolutly love music. Right now I'm mostly listening to Indie and Hardcore, but I also have a enormous love for Death Metal and old School Rap.
I am currently dating a girl named Bridget. She is 17 and she is going to be a senior. She takes school very seriously and plans to attend Yale in 2007. She is 1st in her class and is president of alot of clubs. She is fantastic and funny, and everything I could ask for in a girl, and I love her dearly.
I am the most laid back person you will ever meet. I don't really take anything that seriously, but I do hold grudges and get mad easily if someone attacks what I hold dear. I give away my trust easily, but once you break it, it's almost impossible to get back.

i love doing things w/ my fingers (and yes think of the most dirty thing you can and i do that w/ my fingers). I love to spin pens w/ my fingers, play starcraft, and i love Beatmania IIDX
i also like to do things quickly and be very efficient. i always plan out in my head how to optimize situations like having to change the laundry and cook a hot pocket. i like to type quickly, play hard songs in IIDX, and i tap like crazy when my hands aren't doing anything. i have high APM at life ! GG! O_o
laughing and making people laugh is also right up there w/ my most favorite things in the whole world. i don't think there's anything more important than getting a huge amount of laughs in every single day. you live a longer happier life

My name is Christian Hancock, 18 years old. Yes, Hancock, many teachers used to put "Handcock" on my hall passes.
I live in Austin, Texas. I'm finishing high school because I fucked around in homeschool playing BW and reading Harvard Classics but not really doing much else. I like to read, especially comedic pieces or things that will make me laugh - it could be dreadful I have a dark sense of humor I suppose. I go to a high school which allows me to go for five hours and I'm also enrolled for dual credit at a local college. I plan on getting in the top 10% of my class and getting automatically accepted to the University of Texas and double majoring in Asian and Germanic studies. I want to be a translator. I recently fell in love with a girl but it turned out she had other priorities. Been a hard four months for me with NaDa's dad dying, failing to make starleague and the girl combined with a six week course I took that really made it hard to deal with some stuff.
I'm a pretty shy guy, have a few good friends but not a social whore. I like to walk, a lot. I walk to school in the morning which is about 9 miles and I like to wear bandanas. Also, people from Texas (I hate Texas and dislike conservatives) aren't as cowboyish as you think because I get some weird looks for wearing a bandana. I also like to wear a canteen from the original Gulf war as I walk. I like FF8 Music and I play it in my car as I drive.
Anyways, I can't believe I said all that because most of the time I've been on TL I haven't said anything remotely personal. I guess it's because I'm fucking tired and it's 3:28 AM. Anyways, now you know Gryffindor_us a lot better.

Hey, my name is Graeme...I'm in final year of highschool in Australia, Sydney NSW. I'm currently studying Ancient History, Economics, English, English Extension, Math, Software design. I have moved around a hell of a lot during my upbringing.
I'm really just an average guy. I'm about 6"1' 180 pounds, which is what? 80kg and 185 cm or something.
I enjoy playing sport (tennis and squash), I compose my own music from any genre really, Dance/Techno/Trance mostly.
I also beatbox, I am learning from www.humanbeatbox.com I have been learning since December 2004 and I'm getting better.
I hail from Sydney, although I've moved from several countries, I was born in England in a place called Basingstoke which is kinda near London, then I moved to Saudi Arabia, then Dubai in the UAE, now I'm in Australia, which is so far the best country I've ever lived in.
First being born in England, I lived there until I was 3. I then moved to Saudi Arabia (of all places) in 1990...I stayed there until I was 6. Then I moved to the UAE...a place called Dubai. I stayed there until I was almost 9. Then I got to Australia and have lived here for the longest time in my life of about 9 years or more.
Since I've turned 18 I've been out partying, drinking and other such things (legally now though as opposed to before) I love to read fantasy and crime/adventure style stories...i.e. Robert Ludlum, Dan Brown and Michael Crichton. Fantasy would be...David (& Leigh Eddings), Terry Goodkind, Raymond E. Feist, Terry Pratchett., Jennifer Fallon and many more...I'm also a huge fan of Douglas Adams and his Hitchhiker's Guide series and "The Meaning of Liff" etc.
Movies-wise I like horror and 'feel-good' style movies...sometimes known as chick flicks I guess...but sometimes they can be good. Hey I'm a huge fan of movies...I mainly like any genre except for maybe movies like "The Horse Whisperer" or "Sea Biscuit", movies about horses don't really suit me.
I don't really consider myself a funny guy, but a lot of people say I'm "really" funny...I guess I just like to make people laugh ~ in a way it just comes naturally...on TL.net I'll sorta be more lame and annoying...
I like to use Photoshop and other such things (you may have seen my various photoshops around TL.net ~ including my series of 'iloveoov' images.
When I'm on the internet I'll of course come here, check out www.newgrounds.com and www.humanbeatbox.com and other random sites. I play Counterstrike at the moment, but I hopefully will be moving back into Starcraft under the tutelage of some random gosus...FrozenArbiter...you're my MASTER?
Other than that, after highschool I plan to travel around Europe...and eventually visit America one day. I've made some decent friends here on TL.net and I hope to extend that.
For some reason I've always had the desire for everyone to "know" me around here...I hope a few more of you "know" my name now haha. SMURG FOR FAMOUS MANIA!~!~
Well, hope to hear from some more of you.

anyway, back to my life.. i'm a gamer at heart you could say. i started with street fighter 2 in the arcades and age of empires, both of which i played vividly. i know it's sad, but just shredding up those older kids at the corner shop with chung-li still brings a smile to my face. apart from gaming though i guess you could say i'm obsessed with girls. in fact i've missed out on a few relationships just because i talk about "other girls" too much but i dunno, that's just me. i like guys and girls company, but when it's random new people, i'm always off with the girls, heh.
as to a more serious part of my life i.e. work and uni, well at the moment the former is non existant. i'll try and fix that soon enough though as i'm a $100 a week man who's got practically no money to burn. as i said before, i'm doing psychology at uni - it's very very interesting to me. not sure what i want to be just yet though. criminal psychology seems cool, but it'd probably be equally as disturbing in reality, heh. anyway, i'll just keep on heading down this road and see where it takes me.
how's my personality you ask? i don't know to be honest. it depends on who i'm around! i'm quite different around different people, and it's not on purpose. however, i'm really outgoing, nice and cheeky towards people i like. to those i don't like, i generally just stay out of their way. when i'm happy it doesn't fade quickly and if one of my friends is happy for whatever reason, 9 times out of 10 ill be over the moon too. ok well, i guess i'll leave it at that. if i go on too much nobody will bother reading this anyway

Heh, some would call me lazy and irresponsible, but I'm glad you two understand Life just isn't made for working as much as we do.. it really sucks to think that when you have a 40 hour/week job, that takes up most of your weekly hours.. or the hours that count anyway. Besides I'm in the bike trade and I have no interest for bikes whatsoever, I really don't know how I ended up there, lol.

I have a teacher who would disagree with you 100%.
He always says "Human beings are made for working...we have to work..." He means this in a 40 + hour per week job...he also says he can't think when he's sitting down...so I don't really trust him.

Does that mean you don't laugh a lot? Or don't have as much a sense of humour etc?

This is my other tl.net account : ) - created 2 months ago to try and understand the experience. Didn't really get it. I don't think I will ever understand why people find smurfing so appealing. To be honest it's a hassle and on some level outright rude. I wonder how much of what everyone posts is true. Look at Zia's post for example. How much of that is true Adam? I am sure inbetween all those lies there was some truth. Who is Adam today? This community would be so much stronger and more stable if everyone kept a single identity (staff included). Internet social interactions are turly a wierd and volitile world which makes this thread very special among all other general threads. Thanks smurg, should have found it earlier.
Anyway my name is Ragnar Birko aka entropy to all those who know me in the SC world. I am 43 years old, happily married and have 4 kids, 2 boys (two terrans), 2 girls (one zerg, the little one is too young yet, has protoss personality though). For a living I practice medicine and although Internal Medicine is my bread and butter every few years I try some new filed in medicine out of an eternal inner restlessness I have. I love learning. I also happen to love SC and played it since 1999. I can not stand golf. I really don't want SC2 to be good because I don't think I can handle 10 more years of a new addiction and sleep deprivation. The only way I can game is if I exchange it for sleep time. I was born in Brazil, my dad is German and my mother is first generation Spaniard immigrant to Argentina. I have 2 nationalities (German, Brazilian), and potentially can claim the other two. I have lived in a lot of places, over 23 countries in the western hemisphere so I have lived with people from my many cultures. Some places I liked immediately, some took me a couple of years but in the end I learned to love and appreciate all of them.

In a few moments, perhaps after reading this, certain people will realize they are replaying to a thread that's almost 4 years old. This may not be a bad thing, I just felt it was necessary to point it out to those asking questions in response to old posts.

My name's Eric, recently 18 and living in Edmonton. Viet, although my parents decided not to teach the language. Was raised on the food, though.
First year undergrad, planning to go into Psychiatry although probably won't make it all the way. Might have to settle for Psychology. In University of Alberta...mmm....what else.... Don't play SC much anymore, although I do watch the streams when I have the time and am up that late.

Hi my name is Evan. I am a gosu A+ player and play zerg. I have refused several offers from STX, SKT1, and KTF already because I don't think there good enough. I have also been called the songbird of my generation and I like to lie alot.

Oh well since it got bumped anyway...
Name's Richard, will be 25 this summer, spent the last four years studying at Jacksonville University in Florida, I'll graduate this May and fly back to Sweden, maybe for good. I have a crude and inappropriate sense of humor, I don't watch TV but my favorite show that I can get on the internet is Simpsons, screw family guy. I love comic books but haven't bought one in years, gonna get a sheitload of them and read all I want when I settle down. Favorite comic book is Preacher. I've been slightly overweight for half a decade but I'm just too damn lazy to get back into shape. Never been in love.
Uuh...I'm pretty big and macho but I've found out I'm very easy to upset emotionally (if you're a girl, for some reason guys don't get to me). Smoker, can't seem to stop. Love old music. I'm a sucker for girls with short black hair, probably because I saw Ghost at a young age. I think I'm a very calm and objective person, I usually try my best to see an issue from both sides, but sometimes I think I might just be a self-important douche.
Bedtime. I love sleeping.
Edit: oh, and whenever I post I always spend at least 10 minutes trying to get the wording perfectly for whatever simple little thing I'm trying to say, and immediately after I press post I re-read my entire post looking for spelling errors, even though I did it countless times when I wrote it. Might have a slight form of OCD.
